In the free trial, it mentions that it’s a 31 day rolling contract, they still take card details from you in case you continue with it after. My question is, can you cancel the contract at any time in the 1 month free trial, or do you need to do it right away (but still have the trial) so you’re not charged, similarly like auto renewal for a subscription?

They say that they need 31 days notice of cancellation despite it being a 31 day rolling contract and try to tie you into paying at least one month .
I received the puck and set it up yesterday . Went into the mysky app to cancel my subscription and found out that you can't cancel until you talk to someone .
Managed to get through via text after telling them I was unable to talk on the phone . Took a little bit of time but managed to have my account cancelled at the end of the trial period despite the 31 day notice period .
Also says there's a 31 day cooling off period in the terms and conditions so It's ridiculous that they make you jump through so many hoops .

What happens to the equipment after you cancel within the first month?

You don’t normally need to send the Sky Stream puck back, but it does not work without a subscription.

Anyone know if it runs a hard credit cheek ? on website it says it dose not but when you abut to order it makes you agree to it.

"I am happy for Sky to use my details for the purpose of this credit check and to run a fraud and ID check as part of my order today. I can confirm the above information is correct."

Were you trying pay monthly by card? That failed repeatedly for me but went through first time on DD

Ordered, just to trial it, will prob give it a couple months (pay for one) as i was holding out because of the setup fee, but sky atlantic and disco+ will be worth a couple months trialling

Not really sure why its got a negative rating. Sky arent even owned by murdoch any more and its free tv (edited)

Anyone have sky stream? I've been tempted to switch from sky q as you can have the month by month contract

I did have a sky stream from sky Q box. It was awful, the interface crashed a lot, frame rate navigating UI would drop. Netflix, Disney + and prime video were not optimised. Pausing, rewind and fast forward would take 2-3 seconds after pressing the button on the controller. It feels like a very low powered box for such demanding software. I really wanted to enjoy it after being a sky Q customer for so long but in the end I moved my tv with virgin as I already had broadband with them. Shame really. I hope Sky iron out all these issues as it has great potential

Virgin doing something similar but charging £25 for the box.

With Virgin I think you have to have their broadband whereas this doesnt need Sky Broadband.

do you have to pay more for sports channels?

    Received mine. Things of note:

Much better than Q mini box

Initial setup looks like its hanging but its updating etc.. just doesnt tell you so leave it if it looks like it hangs

You can join sky vip and get 6 months apple tv

You get peacock as well as netflix 720 and discovery+

If you're only planning on having it a couple of months to try out, you can get 2 months UHD/atmos and 2 months kids channels for free, but you cant use it without a sub - hopefully it'll eventually become a now replacement so you can easier dip in and out in the future

If you find the right usb cable (1.35mm int, 3.5mm external) it'll run off that as it's only 5v and 6w

It's worth a punt even if you change your mind - just remember sky's cooling off period is 31 days, although unlikely given sky0, they may want you to return the puck if you cancel in first month so prepare to pay for at least one month
