Just done this seem to work so far but got the one month free first, Used speedify vpn free for Turkey, signed up for a Revolut card which they accepted and then when back to uk Netflix I did this on my iphone, so far so good I let everyone know next month if they take payment successfully.

Thanks, tried that and now get told "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later". I think it's destined to not work for me :(

redcantona

I use vnp unlimited, https://www.vpnunlimitedapp.com/en/downloads/windows. There should be a 7 day free trial but can't comfirm because I have a paid subscription.

Thanks for that, I gave it a try but still getting the same error. Very strange and annoying!

The codes were pre-loaded on mine - bought from Currys.

AnnaMariaSmith

Do the older now tv boxes have Netflix or would you need to buy this new version?

shakerstevens

SNAP - wanted the stick to replace an old black now TV box in one room and a 2nd stick for another TV. It should be fine for you, I had a month left on my deal and it let me stack, I think you will be fine. I also found it did add my sky sports pass, at the top of the passes screen there is a link "You have 1 voucher waiting for you" and when I click on that I see my extra sky sports voucher, it doesn't let me activate it yet as I've not activated the other one from a couple of months ago, so its queued up ready for when I'm ready. good luck

dossdes

hmm. I actually wanted to keep the stick (to replace an old black box) and sell the passes. Looks like I probably won't be able to do that. I may just buy one anyway and see what happens when I register it to my existing account. I have about 10 months left on my deal so hopefully it'll stack on top of that thanks again

shakerstevens

It depends how long the passes last for when stacking it to the end of whatever deal you are on, and of course we don't know how old currys stock is. I've been using deals with passes for over 2 years and only once did I end up with an expired pass - I didn't know it was expired until I tried it - I then contacted sky now on line chat and they sorted it within 10 minutes and gave me a new code. Yep you won't be able to sell a stick to recoup some of the money, or not until at least a pass has been used on that stick and at that point it becomes a second hand stick. I had a similar plan to you, bought some sticks and some now tv 4k boxes as per this deal - didn't know what to keep - so this has made it easier - I will sell the 4K boxes and keep the passes from those myself. I don't have a 4K TV so it would have been a bit of a waste until I upgrade one day. And I prefer the stick as it goes out of sight behind my TV plugged straight into the HDMI port and no seperate power cable to a mains socket (the now stick powers off a USB on your TV if you have one spare).

So, I've been paying £41pm for last 2 years for full sky hd package Inc sports, cinema, box sets etc. Been with sky for 30 years. If I want netflix and uhd, I have to pay an extra £22pm, that's 10 for netflix and 12 for uhd box. My 30 year loyalty gets no reduction on that.

KevClark1985

Have you checked box sets regularly? I would say most of the box sets are very recent, it has recent seasons of tv shows which are still airing, that's what is great about it. You don't really get that on netflix unless its a netflix show (although netflix is also decent imo). I like watching a season all in one go, so quite often wait until it's on sky box sets to watch the latest season. Like yourself I only watch from planner (but also box sets) unless it is live sport.

madmurd

Each to there own but box sets is not worth anything to me personally as I've watched any series I need to watch and have no interest in watching anything old again unless it's Only Fools & Horses :) I certainty wouldn't pay £5 for it but have it as it's only a £1. Dont think I've ever used box sets since it arrived. Netflix for £5 on other hand is worth it and I would be all over it, Sky want £9 from me for Netflix as my box sets are only £1 so much much a of deal apart from £0.99 saving so I'd rather deal direct with Netflix as Sky is a pain in the back side most days to deal with. Like the sound of Netflix integrated in with Sky Q though. If honest I dont have time time to watch most things on Sky when it's on and watch everything from the planner when I'm in.

KevClark1985

Out of interest, why do you think box sets isn't even worth £1? I find it hard to believe anyone thinks it's poor value for £5 or less. I mean what does £1 get you these days? Watch one box set a year and you have had value out of it at that price... Personally would add netflix for £5 but it puts my package up £44 a month to upgrade (due to lost discounts) haha

madmurd

Shame really as box sets isnt even worth a £1, they should do netflix without box sets

I doubt it very much. TalkTalk is definitely a takeover target, but then the buyer will stay pay billions for the privilege. They will also seek Returns on their investments. So we in Britain are forever doomed to higher prices and ripoff charges. Its a nice cartelised setup. Virgin and BT are different platforms so they won't compete as such. AND there will be bidding wars on content too. SO less choice and high prices will be the norm.

lettherebedeals

The Older NowTV Smart Boxes are presently half price at Asda £25 which includes Tuner, Sky Store £8 Credit Voucher inside & 3 months Entertainments pass. NowTV is fantastic if you DO NOT have surround sound system, if you do be aware nothing on NowTV supports surround sound, Sky Cinema, Sky Entertainments, Sky Kids, Sky Sports, which is a shame, had NowTV supported surround sound like Amazon Prime, Google Play, Netflix & More I would be a loyal customer, why they trim surround sound out is beyond me, they must be losing so many customers due to this... those of us who have surround sound, have surround sound for a reason and even though we can use Dolby Pro Logic & Virtual Matrix Settings, its just not the same as true 5.1 experience... So Come On NowTV sort it out...

grahamedawes

Now are about to go 1080 on Apple TV. New pending release.

seaniboy

Sticks are easier to portability but can suffer heat problems, I now only use a Roku stick I use for travels, long term stationary use I wouldn’t, lesson learnt and I have a Freeview Now Smart TV box in (4K Philips) lounge and a Roku 2 in the (2006 Philips plasma) bedroom. Experience says stick with a box for stationary, Stick for travels.

seaniboy

Well I guess it’s also Platforming - awaiting Openreach universal speed obligation. Sky doesn’t want to deal with complaints outwith it’s remit even though it’s uses that Openreach remit itself to deliver its own Sky Broadband. Sky give me full ADSL2+ speeds using Now TV app/boxes. 16/17mbps everywhere else online. I can stream 4K no problem. Most people who have Virgin Broadband usually also have its TV service, Now TV is dependant on a ISP and let’s face it UK has a terrible time over BT Wholesale broadband for a developed country. There is sense in what they are doing, it’s just frustrating as a consumer.
