    I wouldn't buy it. I have a beam and and 2 surrounds.
I honestly think my TV sound is better.
And from what I can tell you can't use Bluetooth to listen to your music. Their is a workaround to use apples sharing system.

But I would try it out in person. I'm not impressed after about 6 months. I will either try and sell it or get the subwoofer and hope it improves things. But if I was starting from scratch, there must be something better out there.

The built-in speakers on my LG OLED are pretty good, but my Beam Gen 1 definitely adds more depth and bass to the sound, without question.

If all you want is crisp and easy to hear dialogue built-in TV speakers usually do a good job. I have my Beam in dialogue / night mode quite frequently to emphasise dialogue, but for games and films I turn these settings off.

One thing I didn't realise initially is that you need to set your TV to audio 'pass through' mode in order to get the best quality sound from your Beam... the 'pass through' setting basically prevents your TV processing and downgrading the audio, and allows it to "pass through" the audio to the Beam in its purest format.

Initially, I used my Beam for months with 'pass through' disabled on my TV, but as soon as I enabled it I got far more depth to the sound. One way of checking that you're getting 'full fat' audio is going into the Sonos app and checking if the signal is "Dolby Digital 5.1". Otherwise, it'll display as "Stereo PCM" meaning your TV is downgrading the audio to non-Dolby 2.0 stereo before passing the signal to the Beam.

Wouldn’t pay anymore for it, it’s a decent soundbar but Sonos branding dept must run expensive
    indyjukebox's avatar
What would be a cheaper alternative that sounds as good and has similar functionality?

Just a heads up, Sonos is now offering 30% instead of 15% if you can 'upgrade' a previous product.
That brings the Beam to £349.30.

Great deal, just ordered this after looking for a while. I had £300 vouchers from work, so total cost for me was £49 (after receiving gift card)!!

Nice soundbar…add a couple of One SL’s for unbelievable surround sound.

Are the One SL good enough for surround sound. Was thinking of adding the ERA 100's later this year but they are twice the price.

Just been watching reviews of this on YouTube, looks and sounds good, considering an upgrade to existing setup to improve vocal audio.

Buy Gen 1 as you're paying double for a fake ATMOS label printed on the box

0 vertical speakers/channels just like Gen 1 so it's impossible to have ATMOS height channels.

All you're doing is paying Dolby's royalty fees so ATMOS can be stuck on a product to con consumers (edited)
    indyjukebox's avatar
That is a very reasonable suggestion. If you can locate one then the Gen 1 is better value.

    OOS online.
Not much stock available in stores. I managed to find one 25 miles away.

Maybe the arc is the difference or I need to use blue rays. Did you get the gen3 or the mini?

Bought a couple of weeks ago so missed the £25 but I'm really happy with it. I have a fairly expensive samsung tv and the sound from the tv is excellent but the sound through this beam is a lot better especially with atmos enabled.
    gg1pl's avatar
Gen 2 has 0 ATMOS speakers/channels just like Gen 1 so it's a placebo from paying a premium thinking you're getting better sound with "ATMOS'

There are 0 height effects (edited)

If you've got a Sodexo staff perks account, you can get this deal for £351 from Argos and then get the £25 voucher as well, which seems a good deal. I think it's about 6% off. You have to buy the voucher for £351 through the online portal.

It's for Samsung S800B amazing Soundbar, one of the slimmest one.
