I know it's quote an old tablet but still perfectly good and this is the cheapest I've found if you're not too bothered about the 5G. Not sure if it will come with the pen

S7 is such a brilliant tablet but totally ignored for some reason. I still use mine and I see no reason to upgrade. It certainly doesn't feel like 2 models old.

    1. It's 575g
    2. 120Hz on 12.4' AMOLED display
    3. <10ms touch latency (they did it mostly for the S-Pen)
    4. It has a powerful GPU
    5. WiFi 6

The combination of these makes this a perfect gaming machine. It's my daily driver for games (over my iPad Pro 2022) I much prefer writing on it too despite the mighty £140 price tag on the Apple Pencil (it's free on Galaxy Tab S7 plus)

The downfall is that it is no longer supported with updates. If that doesnt bother you then it's still a very capable tablet.

That's why I moved to iPad Pro. Samsung has garbage support

My s7+ still feels like a brand new top of the line device. No hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Amazing tablet, first time they did the larger display and that 120Hz AMOLED is a joy. The later ones were improvements but really don't bring a lot else. This is a great price for a high-spec large screen tablet with a beautiful display.

I wouldn't call this old. I have an s5e and that is old but brilliant so this will be too.

Same, my s5e is going strong 💪.

Will get a new one for larger screen and hdr support, but that's not a deal breaker whatsoever.

Tempting, but what exactly does "good" mean in relation to the condition as the details are somewhat scant. I appreciate that something like this will have the usual signs of wear and tear, but does "good" also mean scratches on the screen?

It's actually pretty difficult to scratch screens these days I've stopped using a case on my latest phone, famous last words…

My S7 is so smooth I am considering using it as a desktop replacement (hooked up with KVM)

What's an acceptable battery health on one of these tablets? I got one and the health is measured at 80% using accubattery. Is this acceptable? Or send it back?
    because_whynot's avatar
FWIW, the lithium-ion battery degradation rate is I think roughly at around 3000 cycles (I don't think this translates to the previous owner having depleted it and charged it up 3000 times) - your milage may vary, and different sources show different number (so do your own googling!)

Not exactly sure what Accubattery measures though - curious to know what it would have reported for brand new version. (So if it reports 90% for a brand new device, for example, it's only 10% degradation). I'm not sure how useful these information are on the software level though (battery life and its health is hardware information, and I'm not even sure how these apps go on to gather info about it)

Personally, I would do a real-life test. The Galaxy Tab S7+ I gave to my mom (before upgrading) is still going really strong and I can expect a full day usage (5h+ heavy gaming etc) without a problem. I would do a quick research (review websites etc) to see what is the appropriate level of expectation, and if it falls below that - then send it back!

That being said, for <£300 it's a steal, so I would be hesitant about sending it back unless battery life has serious impact on your usage.
