I just ordered the 256gb version with a simple folding stand case all for a total of just £174.72 using an exchange fee-free Santander card. To get this price:

    1. Ensure you're ordering in US dollars. The 256Gb version today is $248.71

    2. Add this case to the order for $9.61 (other cases/covers are cheaper, but many are not free delivery and some will not allow the code in Step 3 as they count as a conflicting discount - 'welcome deals' etc). The case will add a little bit of tax ($1 - $2 that's all). The case is important as it brings the total to over $250 for the code in Step 3.

    3. Add the $40 off $250 code - AEBF40 - bringing the total price to $219.94 (£174.72)

On my order emails, the items are listed $210.20 for the tablet and $9.74 for the case. I went thru Quidco as well at 5.5% so if that comes off, that's approx another £9 too, but I'm not counting my chickens on that, as a code was used. Of course, I may get stung for customs tax, but even if that happens, it's still a great deal.

I originally wanted to get official Lenovo keyboard Case and stylus, but they're a bit pricey for this new model, so I'll wait until they come down in price as they no doubt will over the next few weeks.

    Hope this works for others....

ps - just saw other people's issue with the grey version being out of stock..... here's hoping that stuff is resolved, or doesn't apply to the 256Gb at least

pps - Hmmm. The order on my AE account says "Order will ship in 9 days".... so we'll see! (edited)
    jobiman's avatar
Thanks, great code! On their listing they state "Shipped within 72 hrs", but when you place order, it changes to 9 days - welcome to China ;-)

Thanks Resty, do you know is this has GPS? I've seen varying specs on it some of which say it does, some it doesn't.

Excellent specs for the price. I believe this is an updated version of the P12. Have some heat.
    PizzaTheHutt's avatar
i believe it has snapdragon 870 vs the Dimensity 7050 on the P12 (non pro) pro version cost a lot more for the OMLED screen

Can you put a SIM card in this also? I wouldn't mind getting this tbh also which is the best ROM/OS thingy to get it with so you can get regular updates and can you download all apps like normal from the play store like banking apps etc

Looks ace this tablet tbf seems a beast for the money (edited)
    TheGhost's avatar
I had lenovo in the past they had play store ..only 4g or 5g tablets take sim cards I think..this isn't 4 or 5g so no
  6. iainc812's avatar
Does this run android? Sounds like a nice deal but not sure what all the chat about ROMs is all about. Is this a faff?
    6moe66's avatar
    Author
Android 13 so up to date. This model will receive Over the Air (OTA) updates like any other tablet.

A ROM is basically the software the tablet runs from and there is no need to be messing with this one. Though maybe, in a few years, when lenovo stop supporting this model, better software may be available in the form of a ROM which can be loaded to upgrade or refresh your tablet.
  7. Starman7's avatar
How would this differ Vs an even cheaper but better spec, ram, storage, Xiaomi pad pro 6? Are they any good for updates, 4k netflix etc?
    Ciara_Sweeney's avatar
Those are fakes with dodgy software to spoof spec sheet
  8. ukflyboy's avatar
Just had a look at this but couldn't see anywhere during the checkout phase that it mentions tax being paid. As it is over £135 my assumption is that you would have to pay tax and duty on arrival in the UK; if it was under £135 then Aliexpress would include it in the price and pay it on your behalf, but that doesn't apply here.
    Vastrove7_'s avatar
from what i gathered, they send it with the value written as under 135, customs may or may not check ur package to see if it is over 135 and then u pay tax on it but you may get lucky and it gets through.

    Few things to consider:
    - not actually Lenovo selling this, just a company saying they are “Lenovo official “
    - OTA updates might require VPN to China, has done on some models
    - Netflix requires something called widevine L1 for HD content. This doesn’t have this. This means only 480p streams on a large 12” display.

Correction regarding L1, this tablet has it.  (edited)
    resty123's avatar
It is widevine L1 and Netflix/prime is in HD

Anybody know if you can get the nice keyboard stand with this from this store? Tried to check and they don't make it easy to find... (edited)

How does this compare to the Lenovo p11 gen 2 which is about the same price?
    ukflyboy's avatar
    Interested in this also.

Can anybody advise on the import and excise duties? Or have Ali Express now added this onto the checkout?

And where do I add the discount code?

    Thankyou
    Vastrove7_'s avatar
I think they value it under 135 (which means no import duties) but customs may or may not open it up to see if thats true, which in that case you may have to pay a 20% iirc, but its up to luck, some had to pay it some did not.

I imagine this walks all over the p11 gen 2. I have the previous iteration of this tablet, admittedly the Pad Pro which was imported rather than the European variant, and it’s a beast, still going strong after 2 years. Not sure if this is OLED though, which would be a downgrade on previous iterations if so. Saying that, would still recommend this
    PizzaTheHutt's avatar
nah its not OLED but has snapdraogn 870 which is pretty powerful

Now, how on earth do you pronounce Xiaoxin

Hey guys i purchased this 5 days ago and it still hasn't been shipped. Would you give me an idea how long would it take to arrive to the UK?

    Anyone who already received it?
  21. gen271674's avatar
Absolutely unbeatable tablet for this price. You will not get this power for this much anywhere, not even 2nd hand. Excellent value. If in any doubt, get this one.

Just calculate the VAT and import/ customs fees so you are prepared for any extra charges that might need paying in order for it to be delivered. If you're lucky it'll fly by customs, but I'd think its 50/50 chance. (edited)

How is this tablet when compared to Redmi Pad and Xiaomi Pads? Is it similar?
    C0mm0d0re_K1d's avatar
Similar spec to the Xaiomi tab 6 but more storage, bigger better screen and battery.

There is no comparison to the Redmi pad or the new even lower spec Redmi pad SE

Just checking but a lot of aliexpress tablets are fakes and reported as such - this put me off the Xiaomi copies. You just don’t know what you’ll get and returning or negotiating any kind of refund almost impossible between here and China. Views? Anyone with experience around the tablet clones? (edited)

This is the Chinese version (Xiaoxin brand) so doesn't come with Google applications suites so can't use it properly with Netflix, Spotify, Chrome, etc... (edited)

    you can download it yourself.

Interested in this. What's the difference between the global ROM and the Chinese / English version?
    Vastrove7_'s avatar
global gets google play and other google services preinstalled, the Chinese one gets OTA updates and other good stuff, but you have to get the google play services and down the playstore manually. i got the Chinese ROM

Thanks, paid £165 (currency USD, converted by NW CC). Bought also the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 Snapdragon 870 with AMOLED screen (£168.74) from Factory Direct Collected Store. They shipped it with Netherland Post = 99% chances for extra tax & fees. TCB hasn't tracked for either purchases. (edited)
    Quarkz's avatar
Link? I didn't see 870 with AMOLED (edited)
  35. e_aussie's avatar
Do u think amoled is important for this type of tablet? Or is the lcd screen already very good? Is it gorilla glass? So far been happy with lenovo m10hd except its slow from time to time with multiple apps will this be on par or better? Are speakers good? Or will p12 pro with the jbl speakers and amoled be better?

I don't mind installing playstore. (edited)
    jobiman's avatar
I am planning to use the OLED version sometimes in car for navigation as the brightness of the background is just round zero. The other advantage is a bit better max brightness in full light.
  36. skeeter909's avatar
Any deals on a decent 11inch version with Snap870? There are a lot of fake (11inch) ones on AliExpress, but surely an actual Lenovo or similar exists
    Vegeta's avatar
I got this one with the code for £150:

    aliexpress.com/ite…tml

It has an OLED screen. (edited)
  37. e_aussie's avatar
why is it some of the aliexpress links above say this item is not available in your location?
    jobiman's avatar
You need to set the location to UK first.
  38. skeeter909's avatar
These seem quite cheap - in the descriptions on the various listings they mention they have to open the box to upgrade to global rom etc. So I sssume these are either clones or factory seconds that didnt pass quality checks for us/eu markets due to sone minor issue or that were excess production from the bulk Lenovo or whoever placed to China on original runs and are now being dumped wholesale at the production end. Anyone know more?

I’ve seen a lot of RX580 cards dumped this way - via Ali - but some of those are fakes. Essentially bunches of the chips offloaded in China via whacking then on generic gpu boards.
    Vastrove7_'s avatar
these are Chinese market tablets which are considerably cheaper than in EU, they aren't defective or dont meet quality standards, they are similar to the EU/US version but with better specs actually.
  39. e_aussie's avatar
It looks like the OLED version is 2022 so only the LCD version is available in 2023 model. correct me if i am wrong here. its just based on my searching on aliexpress which is really hard.
    Vastrove7_'s avatar
yep, i dont know why they downgraded the display tech for the 2023 model
