I got this to replace ny S8 which replaced my S7. Screen is nice although I do find the S8 was sharper/clearer despite this being oled. The real issue is the battery. On the S8 it was great, easily 12 hrs screen use before needing a charge. My S9, well both as got two in the deal for family, is noticeably worse, like I've charged it once already today from 90% at 9am. I've used them for a month ish and neither have great battery compared to the S8, which I just don't know why but I actually wish I'd held on to it and returned the S9s. (edited)

Would they accept a broken screen S6 tab.
It comes doen to 249 for me with S6 tradein

Based on the last 5 trade ins I’ve done all have been smashed to bits and there was no issue

Argh... I'm swivering on this. The boss will kill me but... if I trade in my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 (cracked screen - kids and no screen protector), I can get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ 256gb for £347.65. This seems like exceptionally good value. The S6 hasn't missed a beat for me and I assume the S9+ would be even better. I hate and love this website in equal measure at times.

Edit - I should mention I have a 15% code as my birthday is in November. That's how I get it down <£400.

Edit again - The 5% code stacks as well. So it's £322.20.

Thanks for the app code, better to take this than gambling with cashback since promo codes are being used.

If I trade in my s8 tablet, s9 final price comes to £199.... worth the upgrade?
    Ankur_Bhadra's avatar
S8 is LCD screen and S9 is AMOLED screen.. blacks will be much deeper and punchier. So worth a upgrade I feel
  6. Stripes81's avatar
Wish the keyboards would come down in price 😫
  7. Rhys1979's avatar
Has the deal expired/changed? The s9 is showing as £649 for me
    naughtyboy2020's avatar
It works still just added S9 to basket minus £100 trade in any tablet and extra off with code = £449

It makes me wonder what the markup for electronics is when they're able to offer such "deals" , does anyone know?
    B_Marvel's avatar
They will be losing money to the people who are pushing this deal to the max.

For the ultra, the parts costs alone were 580 dollars.

Then you have R&D, marketing, logistics, warehousing, etc.

There is a reason Apple is the only hardware company able to maintain a 20% profit margin.

Samsung had a 5% margin 2 quarters ago.
Their aim with deals like this is market penetration rather than profits.
  9. Lee_TaylorzPA's avatar
Bought the tab s8 last year and not impressed with the picture quality seemed very pixelated so sold it….think the tab s9 will be the same so this deal is cold
    XiaofengXiaofeng_Xiaofeng's avatar
You're voting this cold because you used a completely different device last year with a completely different display technology and didn't like the screen?

    That makes perfect sense. (edited)
  10. ashmac's avatar
They way Samsung discount there high end tablets and phones just shows how inferior the brand and device is compared to apple
    B_Marvel's avatar
Apple has done an amazing job at tricking people into viewing them as a fashion accessory and lifestyle choices.

This allows them to charge more on average and offer less incentives as the apple users tend to pressure themselves into buying.

Samsung don't have the same cult following so have adopted a more standard approach in such a saturated market.

In the android ecosystem, there are so many options that don't exist in IOS.

That being said, assuming their products are inferior based on that isn't how to evaluate tech.

From someone who has used tabs from both, I would say Samsung have better hardware while Apple software integration is ahead.

I am an android user who likes so sideload so IOS would never be viable for me personally.

Can someone just tell me how to get the 15% birthday code???
    mattgod69's avatar
Samsung just email it to you when it's your birthday.... you need to add your bday onto your account of course...
  16. Stripes81's avatar
When I add tabtradein code it still takes another £100 off even though I've selected any device for trade in.
Will samsung recoup that when they receive an old fire tablet?!
  17. Vandetta's avatar
If you choose a model that has a pen included for example S6 lite, do u have to give the pen over as well or just the tablet?
    XiaofengXiaofeng_Xiaofeng's avatar
I don't think so. They will tell you when they send the email but I've read they just want the tablet unit.

I dont have an tablet to trade in.
I am thinking of buying this alcatel tablet from argos for 64£ and using it for trade in
    argos.co.uk/pro…:37

I was considering getting a used tablet from gumtree and use it for trade in. But i am concerned if it gets rejected for some reason.

And one more question. By When should i send this tablet to samsung. I believe i can purchase now and send in the trade in tablet after samsung tablet gets delivered.

Could you guys please suggest? Thanks (edited)
    rarefriend2121's avatar
You would get £100 discount after buying Alcatel for £64.
I would suggest buy any used tablet from gumtree or Facebook for £20-30 and trade in
  20. paulvandyk's avatar
After trade in of my tab s8 and using code, I'd pay £200, is the s9 worth extra £200 over s8?
    BROADBANNED's avatar
yes, especially if you use your tab for intense processes like gaming or rendering.
Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is a monster and very efficient.

If you do not use it for games, you may not notice 200 quid worth of difference.

    Hope that helps.

    vassy4u's avatar
Ha ha. I was like that last night but then the display on S8 plus can't be beaten by surface. I use it for watching YouTube n movies. So surface not for me

its £549 with trade in for me - TABTRADEIN not valid voucher - any clues where Im going wrong ? Also tried the BFBOOK3 code - again not valid for me
    naughtyboy2020's avatar

    S9 = £449 after discount applied

So I used the Samsung Shop app and bought the Ultra 128 veriant £949 selected any android tablet trade in for £150 discount then used TABTRADEIN code for another £100 discount then used APP5 code for futher 5% or £39.95 discount so total Ive just paid for my S9 Ultra 128 £659.05. Christmas has come early for me big thanks MrSwitch now im off to source a tradable tablet .
    Rush420's avatar
There is no 128gb option on the ultra model. The basic version has 256gb, and yes, it's 949£ ;).
  28. mattgod69's avatar
The trade in value seems to change all the time.... any other tablet is £100 now...I think it was more yesterday!? (edited)
    MrSwitch's avatar

It's £150 On the ultra, £100 on the s9/+ version.
  29. Eddie1337's avatar
OK I've caved in and bought one. If anyone is looking for a trade-in tablet, CEX does Samsung Galaxy tab S3 lite for £15 with £2.95 delivery charge. I got that one as I coulnb't be bothered looking up local marketplace. The cheapest one I've found on eBay was around £21-23.
    abbs321's avatar
How much is the trade in with the s3 lite? The s3 lite is not listed in the drop down when selecting a Samsung tab, it does list “Any tab s3” but I would assume the lite doesn’t come under that since s6 and s6 lite has their own selections.
  30. I_HERO's avatar
When we get to the delivery part, do we choose delivery only or delivery and recycling - cos of the tradein? Thanks (edited)
    kappachin0's avatar
Delivery only, it includes trade-in bag and label with your order.
  31. ought's avatar
If I select not good condition for the trade in does it even need to power on?
    Danyal_Ahmed's avatar
Yes needs to power on and hold charge

You missed the main discount, you're supposed to trade in a Tab S6 Lite which they'll give you £390 for even though they are worth £100.
  33. Plugman17's avatar
Cheap tablets in CEX for the trade in. Got an Alcatel Tablet for £12 holds charge screen unmarked. It was in my local store as well.
    XiaofengXiaofeng_Xiaofeng's avatar
It is much better value to get a TAB S6 Lite for £100 on ebay and trade it in, that gives you £390/£440 on the ultra.
  34. dabear11's avatar
Ok, so by stacking everything possible, for the S9 128Gb I get £354 if I trade-in any tablet. If I trade-in an S6 Lite I get £222. But then sourcing the cheapest any tablet is £12, while the cheapest S6 Lite is £120 Am I missing something ?
    Spurs027's avatar
The S6 trade in value varies for the different models. For 9+ you get £290, and for the S9 Ultra you get £340.
  35. Owwy's avatar
Has anyone who ordered an S9 Ultra had theirs shipped yet? Mine said delivery Dec 1st but with S9 orders also saying that and coming early I wondered if they might have stock sooner.
    airlocker's avatar
got mine S9U shipped just minutes ago

Where can I get cheap Tab S6 lite for trade in purpose?
    Qwenil's avatar
From nowhere, all the cheap ones were gone shortly after this deal started. Now most go upwards of £170-200+.
  37. waqasrd's avatar

How do I get the birthday code?
  39. Reltonian's avatar
A bit of price angulation here from Samsung. I have access to Perks at work discount from my partner and I have Blue Light card. It is cheaper to buy this item with trade- in discount for a Galaxy tab S7 without using either discount. This is achieved by Samsung manipulating the discount they offer. I am offered £380 trade in from standard site on S9 Ultra but only £130 on the site I am diverted to via Blue Light. £250 differential on the trade-in for the same device from the same retailer! I call that a massive con as well as a huge insult to emergency services workers.
    B_Marvel's avatar
It's not a con. The pricing is clear as day.

Just pick which pricing structure works best for you.

The Perks site is already discounted so they adjust the trade-ins to account for that.
