Talisker x Parley Wilder Seas Cognac Finish Limited Edition Scotch Whisky 48.6% ABV 70cl

Looks like a good deal doesn’t it? Please bear in mind this is 6/7yo whisky. The slightly higher Abv to the standard Talisker releases gives it away as young spirit. It’s an old distillers trick to hide the youthful notes. It gets some decent reviews but the general consensus (amongst whisky voices I trust) is that it isn’t superior to the Talisker 10yo which can be on sale at £28 from time to time. Just some context for anyone looking at the perceived discount and thinking they are getting a bargain. Ignore the charity aspect too. It’s just a sales gimmick or a severe case of Greenwashing. Diageo have donated £3 for every bottle of the 17,000 available sold. That would equate to roughly £55,000 in total. A drop in the ocean one could say. No pun intended.
