No to fish in tanks for years of their lives, must be a torture worse than death. At least dogs, cats etc. get variety.

And if you must, then please at least make sure you turn the lights off through the night. They don't have constant light in nature, let them sleep!

(sorry very exercised on the fish in tanks issue )

    Always one isn’t there!

In nature most the these fish wouldn’t live as long as kept domestically. The water quality is better and access to food. They become part of the family and are cared for. How is this worse than death?

Maybe keep opinions to yourself and let’s keep the site about the deals 🏻 (edited)

As the very wise Gill said in Finding Nemo "Fish aren't meant to be in a box, kid. It does things to 'ya".

Don't do it, you get hooked (excuse the pun) and spend a fortune over the years on energy bills, medicine and filters etc.

I haven't bought a new aquarium in over two decades.

The used market is very fertile. My largest 500l aquarium complete setup including stand cost me £200.

If anyone in NI near Belfast needs a starter tank I've got a 40l and a 60l (I think, both are between 40&80) that I need rid of, my last snail and shrimp died after having the whole tank to themselves for over a year

If anybody near Preston wants one of these for free let me know. Not 100% sure if I have the lid still though since I went lidless.

I’m interested. PM me plz. Would love to have the lid with it too (edited)

I keep thinking about this, but then the stands are all a bit ugly and I daren't use normal furniture. I know too that I'll end up getting a bigger one because I know how addictive fish keeping is 😄 Right bargain tho!

Actually, I've just bought it All stand advice very welcomed!

I hate when companies show incorrect stocking on the box.  No way could this house those cichlids comfortably.

I had this tank about 20 years ago, not sure if much has changed.  Was decent for a starter, I had a pair of pea puffers in mine.

Six Malawi cichlids in 100 litre?
    Hemichromis's avatar
Don't worry, they'll be down to one before they hit 4 inches.
