    My mechanic doesn't use that kind of stuff. He just fixes cars and they start. I have never used such thing in my life. Battery is getting weak? Replace it ASAP(with some decent quality battery and make sure it's fully charged on weekly basis) .

    It's a generalisation of the gear he uses for varied tasks especially to determine a problem or problems. Obviously if the car needs a new battery then that's will be conveyed to customer or company.

    Agreed, these are fantastic. I’ve used mine many times to jump start my car when the battery has died and also helped a number of people in similar situations.
