Sound-blaster X7 £229 @ Creative
Found 1st OctFound 1st Oct
Sound blaster x7 DAC/AM. Best price I have seen it at. Do not know when deal ends.

i don't get why it is cold? can someone explain?

Recently got this myself second hand and paid £170. Amazing product if you have the money. Bit niche but it really is an all in one and saves loads of cabling for a nice clean build.

Except that makes it a good deal.. You mean because it's too much to pay for a sound card regardless of this price?

My brother has one of these with the speaker package deal they had a year or so back. But this soundcard is geared more towards the audiophile market. Than your average gamer. Which is why it's getting all the down votes I guess.

I also wonder, this is a great price for a very good amp.

Just arrived, and are excellent. Thanks for posting. The woman's voice on the headphones though is irritating, :D

I've had these for several months, these are really really good for the money. One complaint is that the ear buds are hard to replace as the size is different from most. Mine come off quite easily. They really stay well in my ears and are super durable.

Thank you - ordered.

They come with three size earbuds and what I started to use the additional rubber “arm” which makes them stay in ear even when running. I hate apple standard earphone as they do not stay in my ears at all.

Do they block out sound from the world around you? Will I get hit by a car when I'm on a run? Yes, they do.

I might be wrong but I don't think they have the same drivers as the aurvana live which have the same drivers as the old Denon ah-d1001 and supposedly sound great. For around £90 with Bluetooth maybe check out the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT. A bit extra and the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BT has active noise cancelling. But yeah does seem like the aurvana platinum has ANC

Apparently these are:

No, apparently noise isolation on these isn't the best either

Are these noise cancelling?

I remember having these in 2012, and I can't say my experience was great, they were so flimsy that they broke after a month of use, I've been using Audio Technica ATH-M50's since and they've never let me down, still look almost new too.

is it similar to my FOcal SPirit Classic? or worse? (skeptical)

In passive mode though once cable is used so not sure if it'll be great

hmm tempting as it seems yoi can use wired with noice cancel on and BT off :)

5% cashback on Quidco. I think these are commuter headphones i.e for people sitting down. I like the fact they offer good noise isolation e.g. for plane rides and are bass heavy (that's a good thing in my book). Not sure I could forgive them being uncomfortable though....nevertheless, a great deal.

Nice looking headphones for price, one review here -

Seems a really good price for UK stock Thanks to lfcuk (below) for the voucher code

Up to £450 now! Got mine this week, couldn't find a decent used one at this price. Thanks op, service from cvp was great.

Loving it- really surprised at the build quality and tech for the price, although you might be looking at the ex-VAT price?!

Hey @Stealth_Fox How did you get on with this? Any good? as I can see the price has dropped again :o

not sure how much you can get off, but now you can make an offer :)

I think someone posted a Currys deal that was cheaper but didn't have the controller. This one definitely does have the controller, as I'm charging it at the moment :D

I only have 2 ears though :(

Keep an eye on top cashback. My track was not right…

Anyone any experience on these?

Heat added and ordered. I miss my ep-830 from creative labs which was the very best on bass and nothing as good as that was on the £30 tag. I really hope they still do that amazing job with earphones

Thanks OP finally caved and bought one (excited)

I mostly use it connected but when I dont I've never ran out of power really. Couldn't say how long but a lot more than hours. Range is great. I find that I'm upstairs and the bloody thing reconnects to my phone (hehe)

The blarb sounds impressive, but you can't connect your phone to more than one for wireless, multi room music. I'm out. I'll stick with my UE thanks.

Any better than UE speaker?

How much play time do you get out of yours after 2 yrs of charging and use on full charge, and how is the range of the blu tooth ?

I was wondering if anyone else had the same - but I haven't seen any mention of this in reviews, etc.

Clearly faulty.

I'm glad the T50 have a power button in that case, and I haven't noticed any issues with the volume knob(s). Not sure why they seem to have stopped selling them though, a shame really, even if their price did seem a little steep just for added bluetooth vs the T40 (fortunately for me they were a gift).

I have these and can't fault the sound quality but the power knob (ooer) - which you turn clockwise to switch on - has been ropey (and getting worse) for about a year. You should hear it "click" and light up, it doesn't seem to any more and it takes ages to get it to "click". Blimmin' annoying, I have to turn it on and off by inserting the power cord all the time - probably not good long-term.

So, any music then : )

Sound BlasterX AE-5 and Sound Blaster Inferno headphones £103.99 @ Creative store with coupon

Use AE5FACEBOOK for 20% off. I have this soundcard myself and I upgraded from a ZXR and its much better than that. Fantastic card.
Get dealGet deal

Could not sleep.... ordered something I don't necessarily need.... AND got a free white SB inferno headset,. Oh what will I do with the freebie... IMO I do notice a marked difference in sound quality of onboard (average priced MB) sound and dedicated cards!!! Sleep!

Thank you for the heads up. But this card is already a bit of a overkill for me, only really upgrading from my X99 prime onboard because I'm sometimes having static artefacts in the audio. I'm sure it'll be a great card but it'll also bring a bigger pricetag. The Pure shows a discount just like the "black" version but unlike this last one once you put the facebook code in the price reverts to the 150£...

Creative confirmed on facebook that there will be a high end version of this card, similar to the ZXR. Just a heads up incase you decide on that card later. That being said the AE-5 is brilliant. Best sound card I've ever owned. Sound quality is unmatched. You won't be disappointed. The price you are seeing for the Pure edition already has this code applied I believe. Add it to a basket and you should see the code being applied.

That is right! Funny the Pure Edition is also at 129£ but does not allow the facebook code to be used at the same time. Wonder which one is a bug... I was going to cancel my order and reorder with the pure edition... wonder if support can do something about it.

This one only comes with 1 RGB strip. The pure edition comes with 4.

Ok, I see what you mean. On a realistic note, for £55 will this be a good speaker with a few added benefits and essentially worth the money? It does have good reviews. Or is it a piece of shit I need to send back?

yeah it won't - you'd need proper mics for that, not the dodgy ones they put in handsfree bluetooth stuff.

How so? I ordered one for the sole purpose of recording music at band practice and playing back, with the hopes that the 4x mics will pick up sound well and play it back well.

Ah, all good then :)

Ok if you can get this for around £50 absolute bargain. I plug mine into the wall, connect an Echo Dot to it and leave it there. IF YOU DON'T ALREADY DO THIS YOU NEED TO: - Connect to it via PC or Bluetooth, download the app Soundblaster Central i think - Configure all the settings, bass, treble, surround sound, any eq preferences you have - Now make sure you turn the volume to 100% on the speaker, as the speaker is what is processing the better quality sound - Now leave it connected to your echo dot, it sounds amazing If you don't do any of this, pretty much any £20 anker speaker sounds better, you HAVE to configure it properly, it's a farse but totally worth it.

Back in stock now - but the greedy s@ds have added £20 to the price. Anker it is, then!

I have connected an Echo Dot to this CSB AXX200 many a time but only by Bluetooth never by wire and it works fine if this is any help

I have one of these & think it's great for the reduced price, better sound than a lot of the older JBL small wired stuff I have

Had it on sale for about £40 and really wanted to like it, but the sound is just not there. Some fun effects and stuff, but the main point is that music doesn't sound anywhere near as good as it does on Bose. 1st gen soundlink colour (though not as good as mini II) can still be found under £70 and is a far better option.

It's why I own HD700 HD600 HD558 AKG Q701 DT770 As well as portables Hd25-1 ii Momentum's I had Fidelio x1 in the past as well as hifiman 400s. Might get Fidelio X2 in future but heard they sold them off and could be quality issues now

Individuals goal posts for "end-game" depends on budget, etc. And to top it off. Peoples preferences to audio. There's a ton things to consider when analyzing headphones. Soundstage, stereo imaging, frequency range, etc. You can't say the HD650's are end-game because for someone else, the HD600's could be. With their different character. True end-game is beyond these though. Stax for example and Audeze. I guess my comment was too vague. My end-game is how much I'm willing to spend on headphones. All headphones sound different, not necessarily "better", but "different". The HD650's are nice but I personally prefer the HD600's. But saying that. I prefer the Fidelio X2's character. More fun sounding. That brings up another point. What are you using the headphones for? You could have a pair for every scenario. It's a mess. For gaming I prefer open headphones.

No it's not. Price doesn't correlate with quality. AKG's are end game quality for gaming can be had for as cheap as £80. Usually around £170ish though. As for music HD650's are pretty much end game. They could be had for £200ish but have now gone up

Funnily enough I replaced the Denons with the Beyerdynamics. Main reason was the metal construction. They are properly bombproof.

£300 is lightyears away from end-game :D

You can find far better speaker systems for the price on CEX, granted used but they have a 24 month warranty, these: for example, which are probably better. Hell you can even get these exact speakers on their for £22:

Sorry - I was seriously tempted until I saw the £10 P&P. Stone cold for me.

So what you are saying effectively, is that we should post anything on this site that is good quality - price is irrelevant .......

Any other item and I would agree but IMO even at double the price I would happily buy these speakers, I certainly paid more for mine.
