If your phone is 5G, this will be worse, if not, around the same i have found

So if you buy one of these you are legally allowed to desert your children & disolve yourself of all parental responsibilites?

That's what i do, i haven't seen my kids for 5 years, assuming they are still playing on ROBLOX in that caravan

I have a TP link version of this from a few years ago. Really useful piece of kit, as it takes the strain off your phone battery if you use that instead. Also really good to give my parents who always have phone connection issues when they go abroad.

Just looked at the My Memory website, and it's annoying that you can't get a good look at the screen. Also no mention of the manufacturer, so you can't have a proper look by downloading the manual etc.

is this the same thing as this tp-link.com/uk/…00/

    which is better please?

It does the same thing yeah, pretty similar specs. TP Link recommend the newer M7010 v2 over the linked M7200 which is being discontinued but all look very similar.

The TP-links look slightly better on paper (150Mbps 4G limit rather than 100Mbps - but the same 4G bands/frequencies) and comes from an actual brand - but things like this it's hard to say which is better until you've tried using them both. (edited)

That is cheap. According to google TP are selling it direct from their own website for £7010

Thinking about getting this to leave in the motorhome as a more permanent fix to connecting to hot spot . Anybody done this?

What is the purpose of these? The only advantage over using your phone as hotspot I can see is that it drains your battery... Is attaching a charging cable that inconvenient? Disadvantages I can see are:
    - The need to constantly switch your SIM card between your phone and this product.
    - The cost of this product.
As for leaving this product in the caravan, presumably with your SIM card, doesn't that mean you're taking a SIMless phone out with you?
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
You buy another sim for it & solely use it for data & share it with a hotspot whilst everyone goes about their business.

If you go away & cannot get a signal on your own phone or go abroad you can use a native sim or a sim that works in the area & just top it up for 2 weeks or for however long & use your phone for calls rather than get hammered on data charges.

Or you could just buy a second phone for that purpose that would undoubtably cost more.

Can this be used abroad with a UK SIM like on your phone you have to allow activate roaming does this allow you to do that? (edited)
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
If abroad you will be billed in accordance with the contract on the sim in the same way your phone is.

If your sim allows roaming for free within the data limits then it is free. If it charges for roaming you will get charged.

So you need a sim to put in it that allows roaming on a contract or PAYG top up or you buy a local data sim for the country you are going to. (edited)
