Wiggle/CRC have 700c x 25mm or 700c x 27mm sizes of the Vittoria Pave CG Open Clincher Road Tyre for £16.99. And now the SALE10 code takes the price down to £15.29 each. So with free delivery over £20, you can buy a pair for £30.58. The next best price I could find for these was £29.99 each at Sigma Sports.
'The clincher version of the Pave CG tubular is hand-made and provides excellent grip and performance, thanks to the open tubular construction. It's a tyre well suited for autumn/winter riding in both wet and dry conditions'.
These tyres were discontinued by Vittoria a few years ago, but Wiggle/CRC seem to find stock every so often. As the reviews show, these tyres are popular with riders taking part in sportives featuring cobbles etc. and they're not really aimed at people doing a daily commute.

sorted byAt £34 it's tempting to try a pair, but I'm more of a 28-30mm GP5000 person these days, and I'm not sure these would measure up.
