    These Westland peat free composts are terrible, I would suggest you try a bag before stocking up on it.

    Not all peat free compost is bad, but in the push to go peat free manufacturers have tried all sorts of alternative ingredients and many of them are awful. It seems the big brands are the worst offenders in finding the cheapest rubbish to replace the peat.

    It looks and feels OK to me. Pretty fluffy, and I haven't found any plastic or big bits of wood so far. The wood fibre is quite fine. Quite a bit of sand from the John Innes. Has a bit of a whiff of manure. Seems like it would be better for seed sowing than New Horizon or Miracle Gro.
