How do these compare to the moulded ones? (edited)

I am also wondering what benefits the solid core doors offer. Can anyone advise as to weather they offer notable sound insulation? I have young children and our internal doors are 20 years old and don't offer much sound proofing.

How would you reduce these? Or can they be reduced in store?

I don't think Wickes trim them. The bottom and top both have oak lipping for reducing the height - the info sheet tells you how much you can reduce the door by, overall. My carpenter did mine.
