How much are these charging things on their own?

Can you charge them out of the contoler too?

The chage and play pack (battery and cable) is £20 by itself (rrp from Microsoft) it takes 4 hours to charge and should give up to 30 hours gameplay.

As noted you have to put the Ms pack in the controller and charge through the controllers USB port, older Microsoft Controllers have Micro USB, newer ones have USB C so if you buy one check what cable you need. That said there nothing special about the cable so any will do.

To be honest if you just want rechargable battery packs there are others out there, I use some Venom badged ones (Currently £7 in Smythes for a pair) they dont' have the capacity the MS one, (Microsoft use Lithium Ion, most other still use NiHM) so I get about 10 hours per charge, but the price difference is pretty big.
Its a 30 second job to swap them over if one dies. There are also dockable battery sets, agaon a lot cheaper than the Microsoftt ones.

If you do but a Microsoft one, make sure its from a reputable store and you check the seller if its Amazon/Ebay. There are a lot of clones out there that claim to be Microsoft and Li-Ion but are really copies and use NiMH. If you paying to the full price you should make sure you get the "real" one.

Huh?! The two-tone green theme on it is great. In fact i far prefer this one to most of the other variants.

It's certainly a weird mish mash of colours. It's like the people who designed it were high at the time lol.

They'd have put that cheapo white back plate on it if that was true. This looks nice compared to most xbox controllers imo.

Anyone recommend an xbox controller, ideally wireless, that doesn't develop stick drift after a year?

I had to return mine after 5 months, minimal use of maybe 8hrs per week. The power block stopped charging, I tried all the help articles about using different plugs with wattage etc. But nothing worked and it seemed stupid to pay for this recharge feature if it was broken.

The actual quality of this controller was really nice, it has a texture on the back and the materials are nice, the dark green looks better in person. I'm tempted to buy it again and roll the dice.
