Nice price. I think further reduction of £5 than your last posting of the same. Less ram and rom than for some other versions available in far away places but at higher price. Certainly heat for this 🔥 (edited)

Does this phone come with a charger?

    Yes

does te same case fit all the redmi 12 variants? i.e will a case for redmi12c fit this?
    Crossbow's avatar
Sizewise they are very close, but camera / flash cut-outs & buttons will be out of place depending on the case, as some are more 'generic' - you can check this by viewing dimensions & 360° side by side photos here gsmarena.com/siz…051

Considering buying this as an upgrade to my Redmi Note 5 Pro. My Note 5 has started to drop mobile connectivity regularly and seems to freeze randomly.

I was considering the Redmi Note 12 Pro but it's so much more expensive! Will this be sufficient for my needs? It seems like a great price!

I use my phone mainly for phone calls (use dual SIMs) and heavy use on internet browsing and whatsapp.

I would choose the better M5s for only £10 extra mi.com/uk/…024
Choose the 128+4Gb version & use the £10 coupon there to get it for the price.
Also try LEBARA06 for another 6% off.

    Pros over this gsmarena.com/com…832
    + Amoled screen
    + Slightly better processor
    + Faster storage
    + Better cameras
    + Faster charging
    + Longer-lasting battery
    + Smaller & lighter

4GB ?? Good for A phone call, texting
    bargainhunter2409's avatar
Really ? That's literally all it's good for is it ? 4gb of ram is plenty I have had a redmi note 9 which by the way only has 3gbnram, for years now and use it heavily , play Google games daily and various other things a high end device can do, I paid 99 pound for it about 2 years ago and I haven't had a single issue , it still charges very fast, still holds the charge doesn't have any issues and works as it did on day I got it. Telling people 4gb ram / 128gb memory is only good for calling and texting is misinformation, it's fine for general use and it's fine for heavy use obviously not as fine as a 1k phone but for just over 100 pound it's a bargain. Sky Blue and Polar Silver are the same price and look nicer than the Midnight Black
  11. Ankur_Bhadra's avatar
This launched in India last month for around the same price and Xiaomi has sold 1 million in 28 days ,record breaking numbers. So definitely a bargain! 😁

Same processor as the Redmi 10. Same read cameras too it seems. The screen is bigger. It's a shame they only have small/medium screens for their flagships now. Never got the "note" naming either, why have for example a Redmi 12 and a Redmi Note 12 and give them both pretty much the same screen size. Even the super budget Redmi 12 C is the same. The 4 varients of of Redmi Note 12 all have the same too.
    nigelbutler's avatar
The Note 12 gets poor reviews. Many comment how laggy it is. Possibly just needs an update. Maybe 4gb even with SD processor isn't enough for the average consumer (edited)

Am i the only one who finds 128Gb to be a bit small in this day and age?
    modmouse's avatar
    Micro SD card supported.
If you want games then yes it is small.

    How good is the camera?
    Crossbow's avatar
Average, but more than acceptable if you consider the price, camera review gsmarena.com/xia…php

Also, note that the cameras shoot video at only 1080p@30fps, offer no OIS/EIS (camera stabilisation) & the screen is IPS - all common at this price - full specs gsmarena.com/xia…php

From the overall review conclusion gsmarena.com/xia…php
    Pros
    • Good build quality and clean design, IP53-rated
    • One of the biggest displays in this price segment [6.79 inches]
    • Dependable main and ultrawide cameras during the day
    • Solid battery life
    • Feautre-rich MIUI 14
    • 128GB base storage
    Cons
    • Disappointing low-light camera performance
    • No stereo speakers (the Redmi 10 had those)
    • Phones with better chipsets for the same price are available [some are mentioned in the 2nd link above]
    • No ambient light sensor and no hardware proximity sensor

    Verdict
Although the Redmi 12 has most of the basics covered, it's a bit of a hard sell in 2023 with its outdated Helio G88 chipset. The device also skips the stereo loudspeakers that the Redmi 10 originally had and with that its only unique feature in the segment. (edited)

You been on your holibobs Switchy?
What's the best 400 to 500 phone deal right now? Killed my Poco F3 and would have happily used it for another 6 months, even though the battery was definitely showing signs of heavy daily use. Looked at the honor 90, magic 4 pro, Poco F5s and redmi note 12 and all its variants but can't work out which one is the king of the mid ranges right now.

    This or the Samsung a14?
    Crossbow's avatar
Grab the Samsung A34 if you don't mind used like new - no accessories or original box, might come with a cable at most hotukdeals.com/dea…127
Does do a hard credit card check though, if you know what this means & its potential ramifications.

The m5s is better I think in my opinion. Or even the m5 both are regularly on offer but I would and am waiting for the Poco x5 5g to go back on offer wish I got it last time it was 169 that has 6gb ram and 5g for a little extra , black Friday soon best to wait until then and grab a bargain.

heat added. A decent one around £100 and with increased inflation I'm happy to pay that £20 quid. Seriously considering buying this.

I take it camera quality is where the sacrifice has to be made.
