    Certainly worth the premium from what I've dug up online, performance is sightly better.
    And you can find the MU7000 much cheaper than £699, have a look at the very deal posted on hotukdeals or even other deals, mu7000 should be around the £600 mark.

    There's almost no difference between them. The "major" selling point of the MU8000 over the MU7000 is a better anti-reflective coating on the screen. Other than that, they're essentially the same TV. Here's a comparison of the two (using the 1000-higher US model numbers):

    That isn't true though. The 55" MU7000 has a 120Hz panel just like the MU8000, so will display 24fps content without introducing any judder. The 49" models of both only have 60Hz panels and so won't.

MU8000 has 96 'zones' of dimming, so not great compared to high end models, but the mu7000 is lit with leds along the bottom and possibly top compared with zoned leds on the 8000

    Both the MU7000 and MU8000 are edge-lit, with a single row of LEDs on the bottom of the screen. The MU8000 does not have full-array local dimming, and has the exact same number of vertical column-based dimming zones as the MU7000. None of Samsung's 2017 lineup had FALD, including the flagship Q9F QLED. They were all edge-lit. They reintroduced FALD this year for the Q9FN. The Q8FN is also FALD in the US, though we get an edge-lit version in the UK, sadly.

    Samsung were a bit sneaky on this one, the smaller versions get poorer panels.
    Within the size & budget constraints you can either go for Phillips - hotukdeals.com/dea…731
    or occasionally the odd Panasonic EX750B pops up on their ebay store for £500. hotukdeals.com/dea…449

    Both of them have 10 bit and 120hz.

    Got this TV from richer sounds 2 weeks ago as a replacement for a hisense 65nu8700 which went wrong after 3 weeks. It's a drop in size but a huge improvement too the hisense. Got richer sounds to price match at £829 so this is a really good price. Just wondering if I could get them to price match this after 2 weeks? Would highly recommend this TV at this price.

    The trouble is, nobody has ever gave any dimensions for the feet and how big/small a space it fits on at its minimum. Its as if Samsung has realised this in its later models giving it a much better stand.

    I went for the 55 mu7000 very deal for £560 (after offer code applied), It will be a big step up from my cheap 1080p tv so I'll leave it a few more years for all the HDR tech to settle down before going for a high end premium 4k tv :-)

    The main thing about the MU8000 is the superior anti glare. However it still won't do HDR well - the lack of local dimming means there's no accuracy to specular highlights.

    I was between the XE8596 and MU8000 - ultimately I decided to go for the XE85 because:

    -> Superior anti glare - though lower brightness, better daytime contrast.
    -> 120 Hz gaming @ 1080P

    I got it for £729, which is a decent price

    The 8000 wasnt worth it for me, only difference is anti glare and different stand from what ive seen (55" models anyway) i had a strict price i wanted to keep below (£650) and any more than that i decided id rather just get the Sony 900E
