    Why are sofas so expensive?!
    jungleboy123's avatar
not even that, why do they look cheaper quality as the years go by.

My old £150 sofa is more comfortable than the £1k ones in store.

    For anyone who want reversible, have a look at this one;

    costco.co.uk/Fur…019

It's modular, all the pieces can be layed out in whatever design you want and are linked together. We got this for our daughters room which is upstairs, coming in seperate pieces made it so much easier to get up the stairs and into the room. Good quality and very comfortable, we're very happy with it. Unfortunately not on offer at the moment though. (edited)

We bought a similar one from costco. Really well made but sooo uncomfortable. Extra cushions helped but I definitely regret getting it.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a link or the name of the one that you bought? A few others have said this is comfortable and I was going to pull the trigger so I'm wondering if yours is different at all.

Also when you say uncomfortable do you mean that it's too soft, too hard, or doesn't support your back or something like that?

    Thank youuuu

These are really solid and nice…bought one a year ago for £1199 and it’s so good. Get some covers if you have kids…(y)

Doubt you can but wonder if you can reverse so the longer side is on opposite to the photo. Would buy if so.

I’ve had this for a few years. Really well made, solid, hasn’t sagged or anything. Costco items tend to be a but more expensive as they’re better quality and made for other markets primarily ie USA

These Costco corner sofas appear great and people give positive reviews a few weeks after getting them. However, after owning one from Costco for just over three years never again. Badly designed where the foam has settled leaving a massively uncomfortable 1-2cm step between it and the spring cassette in the seats, the piping has worn badly away and the material is wearing thin. Costco sent a supposed “sofa engineer” who declared it was wear and tear and Costco just aren’t interested. When I said a sofa should last 5-10 years their response was “typically they should”. Please just be careful buying a sofa from them. (edited)

Have the same experience, the cushions and springs are terrible quality. I don't have the fabric issues and mines is holding up really well in that regard, but the cushions not holding up makes it useless.

Sadly not reversible, but it is a great sofa. I too bought one last year when the deal was on and for the money it is a bargain

can anyone who has this comment on the width at narrowest point, it says 229.9cm but would it squeeze any smaller?

I have a pillar that is 220cm from the wall
    petermcgregor14's avatar
Highly doubt it would narrow by 10cm, its likely a wooden structure, might squish it by 1 or 2 cm but doubt any more than that.

Had a good few sofas in store, some really nice ones. We got some electric recliners. Not sure I'd go for any sofa I'd not sat on. They seemed to be cheaper generally in store than online.
    jon81uk's avatar
In store of course you have to sort out getting it home. The online price includes delivery.
  11. smellyonion's avatar
This looks like one of those cheap ebay sofas you can get for half the price.
    Chet's avatar
Could you send a link please. Genuinely interested in purchasing this which looks good value but if you know of something for half then I'd like to see

    What is the guarantee like?

You can spread payments via PayPal with Costco online

Purchased one of these a while ago and was constantly sliding of the sofa so had to return it and ordered at DFS what meant 6 weeks without Sofa…..horror.

If you can make sure you test and don’t just buy is my advice

Update: It was actually the Mstar International Norris 6 Piece Modular Fabric Sectional Sofa with Storage Ottoman but looks the same. (edited)

Can’t buy a sofa without testing it madness, is it in store? (edited)

This and others are on display in Liverpool and Glasgow, so presume others too. (edited)

Got ours from IKEA, a VIMLE price wasn't far off this but prices have rocketed.

Saw this in Costco today. I like the firmness but the colour is so much lighter shade of grey. If you intend on buying try viewing in warehouse before spending so much money.
