These types of deals have been around for a while. I had mine signed up through India but now that’s stopped working. Argentina seemed to be in Brazil currency and you need a tax number for that. Therefore the next cheapest I could find was through the Philippines which works easily. A little more expensive than India but still much cheaper than uk.
A reminder you do the following:
1) sign up for a vpn service and connect via Philippines.
2) sign up to YouTube premium using a fee free card such as Monzo)
3) enjoy cheaper YouTube premium

Find a VPN that you want to use. This is an application that creates a ‘virtually private network’ which makes the internet think you are in a different place to where you are. You can pay for a VPN or download a free one but the free ones can be hit or miss. I pay for express vpn.
Once you have downloaded and installed the vpn on your device (phone, laptop, tablet) then turn it on in the country you want to sign up for.
Before you sign up to YouTube, you need to get a fee free card such as a revolut or Monzo, again just google this and sign up, doesn’t cost anything and is instant. (You can do this before you turn on your vpn)
Then with your vpn turned on to the country you want (e.g Philippines) go to YouTube.com and subscribe to YouTube premium, the currency should be in the local currency for that country, you enter your Monzo card details and then everything goes through.
Then once signed up, you can turn off you vpn and use YouTube just like you normally would but with the premium benefits.

*UPDATE* My HSBC Mastercard CC went though fine in ARS local currency.

The issue is with Visa payments, changing your payment method to Mastercard should solve the issue.

With regards to tax number for Argentina? What do you mean by that? I’m paying in ARS: Argentinian Peso. (edited)

Argentina has recently changed to only accept Argentina bank cards. I've been happily using it for years but it will cancel at your next renewal if it's not an Argentine bank account. You should/will receive an email about it.

Why not use YouTube vanced and get it for free? (edited)

Only recently realised why it's called 'vanced' - it's advanced minus the ad - clever see

    Is turkey cheaper

    I pay £1.30 with turkey

If your Indian payment method was declined, was it because the original method was visa? If it was, try a MasterCard if you have one. It should work. This happened to me a few months ago with YouTube and tidal and doing this change fixed it. (edited)
    jedijacobs's avatar
Literally just change to Mastercard and it works?

Firstly, Ads on YouTube is borderline torture as of late.

What they are doing with frequency and repetition is unbelievable. I'm also reluctant to advocate premium subs because I'm sure they are trying to bully people into paying a sub by making ads so annoying.

This is a deal however. But I'm curious, what real advantages it has over using an AdBlocker? I use to watch YT on Apple TV all the time but the ads have become so annoying that I stopped recently and only watch on the desktop. AFAIK, VPN subs like this dont work on all devices like ATV and its something you mainly run on the desktop, for that I successfully use AdGuard.
    KrakenKoopa's avatar
Once you sign up you don’t need to use a VPN, you will have a premium account which will work on every device you log into, tv included.

Turkey is £1.32 and very easy to do
    Zk1988's avatar
Interesting… Would it be possible to sign up to it if one is in Turkey for a few days? In theory you’ll have Turkish IP address etc
  8. capa's avatar
I hummed and hawed over this for hours/days/weeks. Turned out to be so simple:

    • Opened Firefox. Searched for an added Urban VPN extention for free. (My paid for Surf Shark VPN was giving me issues)
    • Signed out of YouTube. Closed Firefox
    • Opened Firefox again and selected Urban VPN - Turkey and went into (private) tab
    • Googled YouTube Premium
    • Selected annual premium one off payment
    • Signed into my regular Youtube account
    • Paid by UK Lloyds Bank Mastercard, hopefully won't be charged but if I am it will be a nominal fee I’d expect.
    • Done

Thanks to all who replied. (edited)

good work. how much did you pay in gbp for 1 year? (edited)

Can I still access the account on my TV, IE, not connected to a VPN?
    777jrg_'s avatar
Yes. Anywhere. VPN is only used when setting up

Can this kind of thing be done with Spotify?
    cactusjack's avatar
Why would you want to pay for Spotify when you'll have YouTube Music? Basically anything that isn't there, it will play from YouTube, so pretty much limitless library. (edited)

Here's the process that just worked for me.

UrbanVPN Chrome Extension (no sign-up, totally free).
    Selected India.
Went to upgrade page, selected one year - ₹1,290.00 (£13).
Entered card details, had to use an Indian address (Google "india address" and you will find a site that can generate you one).
First card declined, used a different bank and it worked fine. Both Mastercards.
    SilverBandit's avatar
Using UrbanVPN seemed to do the trick for me. Thanks for that.
  12. tiredandexpired's avatar
might sound stupid but if i did this then do i always need to run through a vpn to use the app or just when signing up?
    thegalaxyboy's avatar
Only during the initial subscription registration. Then after use as normal without vpn.
  13. swag's avatar
Couple of months back i tried every possible VPN Provider, except Express VPN and None of them work with Youtube India. As they all have India Virtual IP, Youtube Seems for some shows that i am in Indonesia, Singapore etc etc.

So i never get the Youtube India Price Option.

many are commenting here saying Youtube India is cheaper , but i need to know what VPN Did you use and when was that as do remember , India VPN Restriction came about last september 2022 and also new Bank card where only recurring payment will only work for India Issued card. Youtube Family India Does not have yearly payment option as opposed to the Youtube Single Subscription which you can buy for whole one year

So to begin with i need to know which VPN provider are you using which when you connect and then open youtube , it will show as Youtube IN
    Kiriana's avatar
I've got the same - says repeatedly "Your card issuer declined your payment. Declines are often due to insufficient funds or card status. Check your card or select a different payment method." even with revolut etc.

    Any advice?
  14. AN_786's avatar
Just a word of advise - set your family up first (at least add 1 member AND THEN do the sign up as above, that way you’ll be able to provide YouTube premium to 5 other people!!
  15. Kiriana's avatar
Can't add family members as says they're in a different country. How do I get around htis? Thanks
    trey.nash's avatar
You need to start again, create a new Gmail, without vpn first, then start a free trial for YouTube premium, add all the members, and then cancel the free trial , connect to vpn , and then start the subscription
  16. 6moe66's avatar
Managed to get it Via Urban VPN on chrome browser. Surfshark and Windscribe both did not work.
At the payment screen, after inputting your card details and before selecting BUY NOW - SWITCH OFF VPN and payment should go through. (edited)
    norbie's avatar
Thanks for this - worked perfectly!

Which country is the best price for Family plan?
    Mr_SMG's avatar
I have the India family plan and recently YT stop accepting my reoccurring Starling MC payments. However it allows me to manually pay each month using the exact same card. Works out about £2 per month
  18. Tisime's avatar
Is this safe to do with your regular google account or is it best to set up a new one?
Is there a risk that if google finds you out they will delete your account.
    MJ_Palad's avatar
Better to set up a new one. Pretending to be in another country is against ToC so there’s a risk of ban if you use your regular one, even if it’s unlikely, I personally would not risk it. (edited)

RockyRobin his method worked. thanks bro

here is how i got the turkey youtube premium sorted after several attempts over the last 48hrs.

    1) sign out your youtube account, use firefox pc browser (incognito mode), i initially used edge browser but was not allowed payment.
    2) prepare ur vpn beforehand (i used keepsolid vpn on windows pc, glad they have a native uwp app in the Microsoft store). i also added urban vpn extension from firefox addon store for added vpn protection.
    3) google search 'youtube premium', make sure ur vpn is active on india/turkey before venturing to sign in ur youtube account. i went the turkey route (cos urban vpn extension got no india server).
    4) choose whatever plan u intend to purchase, i paid with revolut virtual card (mastercard).

good luck, if this doesnt sort out the cog in the wheel of your cheap youtube premium, i am afraid, the capitalists are all out for you (💰).

    follow this step
  21. Garf's avatar
Had many issues with my renewal from Indian YouTube Family.

So I followed many a steps:
    - Downloaded Firefox on Windows PC
    - Installed UrbanVPN Extension (use in Private Mode checked)
    - Opened Firefox InPrivate Mode
    - UrbanVPN extension set to Turkey
    - Logged on to youtube.com/pre…ily
    - Shows in TRY currency
    - Used my Chase (also worked with Monzo)
    - BOOM. Family not moaning about Ads again!
    ncisgreat's avatar
Not necessary to do all this. Just install urban VPN in your mobile and set to turkey. Go to your YouTube and buy membership for one year. Any MasterCard will work. I am using monzo
  22. JackAllard's avatar
Mine is still working with India?
  23. deleted2841741's avatar
Worked for me - I purchased Turkey version for the year (£13ish). Simple steps :

    - used simple free VPN from Apple Store.
    - confirmed location via Google search of my IP location
    - YouTube app still gave me UK prices, so I accessed via Safari browser, which gave Turkish Prices.
    - purchased using normal credit card with no issues.
    - all working now on Youtube app after refreshing.

What did you use as a billing address

Use newpipe or ublock origin and get yt premium free forever
    benfisher1991's avatar
    Yeah

Firefox+ublock+sponsorblock on my PC/phone and tablet.

    Smarttubenext on my Nvidia shield.

That covers all YouTube ads and sponsors from videos.

Then I use innertune on my phone to get ad free YouTube music.

    All works seamlessly

After trying Turkey and India I finally managed to sign up through Philippines today!

    Download/Open Firefox
    Download Urban VPN browser extension
Set Urban VPN browser extension to Philippines
    Open Private Window
    Open a Gmail account
Sign into YT using your new Gmail address
    Sign up for Premium
Add your Mastercard (I used Chase)
    Boom!
    Crossbow's avatar
How much was it in £s please?
Also, did you have to supply a Philippines address? (edited)
  28. trojanasante's avatar
Or use popTube if you have an android phone No ads

This also gives YouTube music though.

My annual youtube premium is due (india) I tried to just renew but only showing the sky high UK price no matter which VPN (expensive now for just ad skipping). Has India stopped for renewals and is Turkey fairly easy? (edited)
    scholesy27's avatar
Try it via a private tab/incognito mode or use something like Firefox focus browser. If it still doesn't work it's an issue with your VPN. If it is, try winscribe. Never had any issues using them
  30. jujuzeez's avatar
can I add this premium to an existing YouTube account or I need to set up a new one? thanks
    RockyRobin's avatar
I added to my existing account last year, still going strong!

Having problems connecting windscribe vpn to Turkey, anyone have an alternative?

You need premium istanbul server. Other two are dodgy. Went through this few hours ago.

How do you add family members once you set up Turkey YT? I sent request to my kids and they are getting messages saying they are in a different country. Any work around to sort this out.
    KrakenKoopa's avatar
You need to set that up before hand.
  33. bells0's avatar
Keep Solid can't be a good VPN as India won't load any website, and Turkey just gives me 'not available in the Country' for Premium
    dbond1803's avatar
    Same
  34. uthypranks_TV's avatar
My indian one still working £2 for family membership
    shak77's avatar
Think some have said works on Mastercard such as Starling
  35. garryallen's avatar
Do you only need a VPN to sign up then? I’ve been subscribing via India, paying monthly (including today) and I haven’t used a VPN in years.
    iammienta's avatar
Yes only to sign up. not needed afterwards. (edited)
  36. ActuallyChristy's avatar
Everytime I authorise the payment via Revolut (successfully), I get booted back to the pay screen on YT. No money has been taken and it's a Revolut mastercard, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Edit: Existing YT Premium customer whose previous subscription expired in Dec 2022. Do I have to create a brand new account? (edited)
    Crossbow's avatar
Before paying, change the country in YT to the one you're trying to buy the premium subs for.
If still no go, then try going down the new email ID route.
  37. Smm0's avatar
    Ill stick with Youtube Vanced
    Infinite.Element's avatar
Vanced seemed really complicated to me - NewPipe is literally just install and away you go.
  38. madj1muk's avatar
Also used the urban vpn app and managed to subscribe to Turkey for £1.32. Yhanks
  39. Husamx's avatar
With vanced it's £0 per month
    _Achilles_'s avatar
Makes me laugh people do this stuff to get subscriptions for £1 or whatever they can get it at. The only thing I do it for is Tidal HIFI for music, but movies, TV shows etc I use RealDebrid.
  40. edward.fisher's avatar
I've tried this and for me if I try and use my existing account, it just displays in £GBP regardless of where my VPN is set to.

If I set up a new account then sign up to a family account, then try to add my account it says I'm not in the same country as the primary account and thus its not possible.
    Spoise's avatar
Have you changed your account location to the country that you're looking to pay through? If so, contact your VPN provider. Surfshark worked for me after contacting them
