    Can anyone advise?
Current Virgin mobile customer (SIM Only)

Could I get 2x of these at £4.80 each p/mth with 10GB data and cancel the existing Virgin sim that is on a 30 day rolling agreement?
    ConnorA's avatar
I think one sim has to be the lead connection at £6 then the additional sims are £4.80 pm
  2. Zikohh's avatar
I'm on O2, not Virgin and my tariff was £6 but went up with April rpi. can I still get this deal or is this a virgin contract ?

Also do I have to order a new SIM?

It is confusing as I currently have an O2 contract but the site is virgin media only so not sure how I upgrade? (edited)

Yes, this is an o2 contract - after choosing the 5GB £6 plan it will take you to the o2 site and during checkout will ask if you’re an existing customer and whether you need a new sim etc . (edited)

This could be the deal i took out and My year finished in November,or i got 6Gb before Volts.Either way its far more data than i need even before its doubled.I've just let mine roll from month to month and it's now £6.70 after the increase i believe. It's also good to see they have put the Disney Plus backup to 3 months,i managed to get mine with 3 months but shortly after it was reduced to 1 month. Might be worth looking into getting this for the Disney Plus. The only gripe i have is signing in online, it sends a code ( warning 1 first ) but there is nowhere on the screen to put the code.Otherwise its a hot deal for me.And free roaming which was the main reason for going with 02.

O2 priority has pretty great value though

    Re: the Volt thing,
Virgin BB is in the wife's name, same address obviously, but we have different surnames.
Will that stop me applying volt to this SIM? Anyone know?
    MAJESTIC's avatar
    Author
Volt is specific to the address - everyone at the Virgin BB address is eligible for volt benefits/double data. (edited)

Has anyone tried this for an existing O2 customer yet?

Does it work ok? Just follow through and sign into my existing account?

Want to get the misses back down to £6 after price rises.
    MAJESTIC's avatar

Yes, I have just downgraded an existing line of mine earlier today and all worked smoothly (edited)

    *Update* Thanks to:
If you get an error message below, you need to ensure a DD is set up on your account by calling O2 or via webchat

When clicking on this deal / link - logging in o2 as an existing customer, it doesn't come up with my current numbers / contract to upgrade. It asks to confirm personal details for a credit check. Anyone else getting this / know of a workaround? Thanks (edited)

exactly my problem unless were missing something obvious

At the moment I have M350 package and I can upgrade to M500 for £6 extra making the contract £29/month.
If I take this deal can I use Volt to upgrade to 1Gig(after I get the M500 package)?
    Jonwillis's avatar
Yes, if 1gig is in your area, and your contract is for m500 it will double the speed (may need a new modern sent out to you).

But in reality you don't "need" more than M500
  9. rew81's avatar
Can someone help with more informations, please?
I'm a Virgin Broadband customer now. Does this package include Volt(I know that not all are Volt eligible) in order to upgrade the broadband package?
    Thank you.
    MAJESTIC's avatar
    Author
Yes, this plan does include volt - double data and broadband speed increase

Took two O2 contracts 3 months ago , one for me and other for my wife , now I have a letter saying it’s increasing from 33 to 39 GBP. Phoned CS to hear that it’s yearly inflation increase and it may happen next year again. She also said it’s there when I signed contract. I will never be with O2 .

Thanks, I was waiting for this, they raised it to £7.84, so needed to get back down to 6 lol

    Same here
  12. Chava619's avatar
This is the one that I currently, the top best deal for an year contract.
  13. Lincoln559's avatar
Don’t know if this will help someone else, but it might so just in case… I used to have a £6 contract, which increase recently to £7.03. I tried to change to this £6 contract but got an error message saying to call 202. They offered me 25GB for £6. After 12M the bill will increase to £20. They also gave me 3M on Disney+. I will change my contract again before the £14 discount expires.
    Charlie_78's avatar
    How you do that?
  14. CJones's avatar
Does O2 have this exact offer? I just want to upgrade, thus to avoid RPI price increase, but don’t want to mess with moving to Virgin Mobile (I know it is O2).
    ncd's avatar
This is an O2 offer, just click the link, select the offer, you will then be redirected to the O2 website where you can log in to your O2 account to upgrade your existing account/number as part of the checkout process.
  15. FuriousD's avatar
the 20gb is on that link too for £8. Might switch to that, currently on 30gb but never use it, was £8 and has now gone up.
  16. Shaun_Clapperton's avatar
I have recently moved to Virgin fibre do I get double data if I take out a plan?
    Jonwillis's avatar
Yes, Virgin broadband speed will move up to the next level, i.e. m500 to m1000 (1gig).

And the data on the o2 Sims will double.

So long as both as registered to the same address
  17. taraweeh's avatar
Brilliant, now to get O2 to undersrand I’m not a business address!
    Questions4you's avatar
I've been having that problem as well. Strangely Virgin Media don't have the problem.

    TOPCASHBACK?
    gadgetcake's avatar
Yes. Add to basket via this link. Close browser, go via TCB it should still be in basket. Should track
  19. Babs_Mitchell02's avatar
What is volt? How do you get it, thanks
    OsamaBeenSaven's avatar
Speed increase on Virgin Media (to the next tier) and double data on O2 pay monthly (plus roaming benefits?).

If your O2 contract and Virgin Media contract are registered to the same address then it's automatic. Otherwise you may need to ring up and get it sorted.

I could not see this tariff on my phone using Brave. Switched the default to Chrome and saw it straight away.
  21. jamiem78's avatar
I’m with o2 can someone explain “Volt”?
  22. Brains's avatar
Is this still working? I can't see the 5gb plan
    Jonwillis's avatar
Nope. They had 4 O2 plans showing but now it's only the £15/100gb plan
  23. mutley67's avatar
Thanks OP - my O2 contract just increased so perfect timing to get me back to £6 per month. And a really easy process too for existing customers to downgrade. Much appreciated.
  24. Canopus's avatar
Not this again, getting the following error message

"Something went wrong, but don’t worry, we can still help you with your order. Chat to us online, or call us on 202, free from your O2 phone, or 0344 809 0202, Mon-Sat 8am-8pm and Sun 8am-6pm."

    I think it's a sign i need to leave O2, (edited)

Same message, tried multiple browsers, has anyone got around this please?
  25. Kiririn's avatar
Seems too good to be true, but they seem to have let me upgrade my £6 (now £7.03) 4GB black friday deal to this. Thought I was stuck paying the raised price for 12 months
    znh's avatar
How did you do that? When I log on to o2 the £6 SIM doesn't show up to when looking at upgrade options.
  26. Canopus's avatar
Think I know why I got that message, on one of the account it stated "good news. You can upgrade" on that one, I managed to change the tariff on the other it didn't state that and that's the account I was getting the error message. The strange thing is that both accounts had the same date for the contract ending which is next month (edited)
  27. yellowmonkey's avatar
Thanks for this. I had 4 contracts on O2 which have just gone from £6 to £7.03 so have upgraded them all. I now have 4 x 3 months of Disney Plus free. Does anyone know if I can stack these to get a year in total? If I activate them all will they run one after another or can I just get one lot of 3 months so should just activate one?
    Jonwillis's avatar
From the Samsung codes, they only worked one at a time, so you had to wait for them to expire on your account, before using the next one. Obviously only works if the codes don't expire before you use them
  28. tom118's avatar
Thanks op. Been waiting for this, back to my original £6 price
  29. Bestbitter's avatar
Thanks, Op. Needed to re-contract to negate recent price increases, and reduce data from 15gb, plus Disney was about to expire again (Never paid for it, thanks to o2 re-contracting!)
  30. joeyhayes's avatar
Thanks, I was already on the 5gb deal which was upto £7.84. Back down to £6 for another year. Thanks
  31. sanandreasgangstar's avatar
    Thanks OP!
  32. sherbolton's avatar
Changed both my teenagers contracts thanks
  33. anna2009's avatar
Thank you. My £6 a month contract had just been increased to £10. This came just at the right time
  34. Neil49's avatar
Great. Upgraded both mine and my wife's accounts back down to £6 per month.

Multisave isn't an option for us but the Priority deals cover our costs in any case.

    Many thanks to the OP.
    ConnorA's avatar
Nice, I’m stuck in a 48hr credit check for some reason, order placed yesterday and waiting to hear and get the number , any delay on your side?
  35. GunMetal's avatar
I've gone for 1pmobile to try it. Rolling £10 and EE network. Fingers crossed it is good because Lebara ain't working out got me and Vodafone was somehow worse even though Lebara uses Voda.

If this doesn't work out will try a rolling O2 contract and then go for a 12m plan if it's any good.
    b0arder2k9's avatar
Please do make sure you keep us updated.
  36. paul9619's avatar
I would be very weary of joining O2. I literally just left for EE. I had loads of trouble with the data network in busy areas like shopping centres etc (my wife was the same too)

i am also Virgin so had to forego the Volt perk (although they seem to have highlighted that I am no longer Volt but kept it on my broadband 🤷🏼‍♂️).

Been with EE for a few weeks now and have not had any issues whatsoever. (edited)
    KentishLad's avatar
I had the same, when I went to stadiums (Cricket, Football & Arenas) O2 data just didn't work. Also annoyed me that they put my price up 17%, but still sold my tariff at the old price.
  37. hotdealsuk1973's avatar
for me it doesn't give me the option to upgrade my current o2 sim

i've signed into my o2 account but it tries to go through with an additional sim it won't upgrade the current one
  38. znh's avatar
To double check as I have never upgraded before, this won't cause a charge due to a change mid contract?
    wolex's avatar
    no
  39. nadine78's avatar
Smarty currently have an offer £10 amonth for 30gb - upgraded to 60gb for the first year and you can use 12gb when in Europe. Plus unlimited calls and texts .... just saying
  40. Donnie_Brown's avatar
£5.86 if you are an existing O2 customer and just want to change tarrif

    Jonwillis's avatar
O2 only seems to show £12 or higher tariffs on the upgrade page for me. Linking via the deal above seems to be the only way to get a lower price, for me anyway
