    Spec says Android 12, which is old now, what are Xiaomi like with regards to software updates?
    Google Pixel was the best but Samsung now promises 4 years of OS and 5 years of security updates.
    Wondering how Xiaomi compares.

    Also doesn't Snapdragon 8gen1 have huge heat/throttling issues?

    What's the camera like on this for those who have it? Gets very good ratings on DxOMark. Looking to upgrade from RealMe GT2.

    Camera is OK. The specs make it sound more special than it is because the software just isn't great. It struggles in low light settings (but does a great job outside). I find it is quite easy to get a blurry image as small movements mess up the shot. Not a very good zoom. My pixel 5 had better shots overall I'd say, but everything else is fantastic about this phone, I'll be using it for a long time. Basically don't buy it for the camera alone but for the whole package, it's amazing value for money.

    Avoid MIUI 14 if you use Nova Launcher. It just doesn't work with MIUI 14. Permanent crashes.

    This is the + of the Snapdragon Gen 1 nice. Hugely better power efficiency and heat consumption compared to the much inefficient standard Snapdragon Gen 1, thanks to the move to TSMC etc

    FYI Xiaomi has stopped releasing source code for their newer phones and this phone is one of those that has no dev support no roms or kernels 6 months after phone release

    shame, but not everyone needs custom ROM, I am pretty much on stock on Mi10 for 2.5 years or so, and just works.

    I don't think so. I mean, if you just fancy a change. My Mi10 similar specs like yours still going strong. If you are gaming sure. But for everyday use the SD865 is still a snappy and powerful chip.
