Similarly, though the Mate20Pro's optical Macro lens is far better, that only applies at 1x as the Pixel 7's digital zoom is so good that it substitutes and eclipses the 1x Macro when zooming beyond that. If you understand me!
For those reasons, I don't regret sticking with the standard 7 camera considering the price difference.
It's a bit buggy but I don't think that's a fair comparison, the Huawei had a long time to find equilibrium and updates were neither as frequent nor as extensive. The software is broadly such a huge leap forward to use but it's one of those things that's hard to quantify or put a value on.
been using it a couple of weeks alongside my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
p7 pro:
battery life is not that great. For a premium phone I’d expect it to be better. Even my iPhone with 85% health is better
Face recognition is hit and miss and never works in low light.
touch sensor even with Whitestone dome protector (£40 ish!) works most of the time. Face ID on iPhone much better though.
Massive plus for the Pixel phones is barebones android and the Now Playing feature which I don’t think exists on other androids?
Much prefer the almost flawless iOS keyboard which seems to autocorrect and guess the right word 99% of the time, but the pixel keyboard comes fairly close.
google pay nfc sensor is way too sensitive and I find it’s ‘paid’ when I’ve barely taken the phone out of pocket with no chance to select which card I want. Apple Pay is miles ahead.
camera is better on the P7 Pro if that’s what matters to you
overall, as always it’s what you use the phone for the most and what matters to you. I’m still in two minds whether to stick with or sell the p7 pro.
lots love it, lots don’t. It’s what you use the phone for the most that will make your decision. (edited)

ROYAL50 (£50 off) works on new order
How to cancel straight away without paying the £9 for the first month?
Still very hot as it’s the best price I’ve seen without any hoops to jump through.
Also o2 customer service are a different breed, constant lies. I had an agent confirm in writing that the CHARLES100 code worked for him, and another confirm they can offer discounts of £50, £100 or £150. But then other agents deny it. They are SO frustrating
They kept pretending that they don't fully understand what I'm asking and trying to lie to me that I can't cancel it. I had to repeat multiple times things like "phone is fully paid off" or "I have not used or even received the SIM card". It's like talking to a con man. They use different tactics and tricks to stale the process and keep my money.
I was lucky enough to get this for £287 last week. Got the phone this morning and cancelled the sim immediately.
No
The fingerprint sensor is as bad as they say, it's optical and not ultrasonic like on Samsungs and seems a step backwards. It struggled not only on 5G, but also on 4G when I stepped it down. Connection loss where I've never had that before on the same sim. Also, signal drop out in my front room using WiFi when I've got BT Whole Home discs dotted round. It's also thicker and heavier than my S10+, the battery lasting about the same (bear in mind the S10+ battery is smaller). The charging speed on the pixel is marginally quicker only, but I could live with that. The back button is on the "wrong" side.
I'm back on my S10+ and the Pixel is going back.
YMMV of course, I gave it a good chance but am ultimately disappointed. Thanks for the deal Switchy, the price is amazing although sadly it's not the phone for me.
No idea what the issue was, but I assume a software update has fixed it, or people just don't know how to add their print properly?

Specs compared gsmarena.com/com…903 - the Xiaomi is better in some other ways like better screen quality, larger screen, much faster charging (but no wireless), 8K video, better sound (most likely), infrared port - so it may boil down to what your main preferences are in a phone.

It has been nearly 3 weeks now and I'm still waiting (edited)
Ive noticed that since the upgrade to miui 13 I think it was that the phone is lagging when i turn it off, only a second or two and not all the time

I ordered yesterday and it is being delivered today. My plan has changed to 1GB today..
And I am able to upgrade again now using the £100 off code. So it looks like you can get more than 1 phone by just upgrading the next day..
1 - Purchase 1 x pixel 7 (Pixel A) as a new connection on my account. £387 upfront with a 1GB plan for £9 a month. As this is a new connection (Plan C), I can use the code for £50 off.
2 - Once I have received Pixel A, I can upgrade Plan C to another Pixel 7 (Pixel B) with 1GB plan (Plan D), again at £387 + £9pm, but this time as it is an upgrade of Plan C I can use the £100 code. Sounds like I might have to wait a day to do this?
3 - As I have upgraded Plan C, that will no longer exist and so on my account I will have 3 connections in total - the original Plan A and Plan B, plus 1 new connection (Plan D).
4 - Go on my o2 and click on 'thinking of leaving us' to obtain a STAC code for Plan D. Get a cheap sim, and give to that netwowk, which will kill Plan D.
5 - I can use our original plans (A and B) on the 2 new pixels
Have I missed anything?
Wanted to stick with android and got a pixel 7 yesterday, and first impressions are very good!
Any P30 Pro owners who didn’t switch like me, and what are you waiting for (phone to die, Pixel 8 Pro)?
The Pixel feels noticeably snappier and has a great user interface. Only real disappointment is the relatively slow charging.
Still, I feel like it was the right choice given the lack of support for the P30 pro now.
