I know it’s controversial and only 12g ram, but still great performance per £ especially if ray tracing is your thing. This is also one of the better performing and quiet cards (according to reviews)

Use code LEVELUP20 for £20 off and you get free Diablo iv code.

Seems OK until you take a step back and think:

    1. You can still buy the founders edition cards for less directly from Nvidia.

    2. You can still buy the founders edition card from Nvidia because the price sucks.

    3. At the end of the day, it's £610. That's a lot of money.

    4. The card is only decent. It's not anything special at all and is likely to age very poorly given the VRAM.

    5. Worth waiting and looking at the new Nvidia and AMD cards coming later this month.

I'm not saying this is a bad price for this specific card, there might not be one cheaper, but hard to call it a hot UK deal.

A lot of the Nvidia cards will age poorly this gen, they are chopped down parts with low bus width, low vram and low rasterisation performance compared to what they should have. They literally rely on software which is at the beck and call of Nvidia to support. Considering they have a financial advantage to screw you over and they are clearly doing so on the hardware side ... it's really scummy with the pc parts nowadays.

What about the 7900xt for £749 from Amazon- that trounces this and the 70ti and has 20gb vram and Ray tracing on par with a 3090.

Doesn't trounce a 4070ti when you factor in RT and DLSS Also AMD are next to useless with VR, sent mine back.

Terrible value, needs to be under £500,ideally closer to £400

4080 should be around this price.

That's because this is a 4060 in everything but name, the amount of CUDA cores is terrible for a *70 name. (edited)

Only paid £30 more for the 4070ti version. Keep your eye on Amazon, it's come back into stock a few times over the past couple of days.

Nvidia sells its utter junk 4070TI for 600 quid, and the hard-of-thinking 'think' they are getting a 'bargain'. Hahahahahaha. Like when, during the crypto boom, Nvidia and AMD launched horrid over-clocked and overvolted variants of the 6800 chip and 3080 chip for well over 1000 quid, so suckers would buy the junk when they became available below 1000, claiming a bargain also.

Meanwhile, people that pay attention know Nvidia is on the verge of selling new 4070 class parts with the 4080 die and far more VRAM. Last gen the only good chip Nvidia made was the 3070. This gen it is the 4090- fantastic value if you are a pro using CUDA, or are a pro-influencer, but in the wrong price bracket for the rest of us.

My old 980Ti cost this much... a Ti card. Don't care how much faster the newer tech is, a mid range card should not be costing anything over £200-300. Nvidia can do one.

    Mid range?

Seriously? Most people probably have a 3060, or 1660.

Prices are just crazy at the moment, I managed to get a couple of the 4070ti cards - I am away and one was scheduled for today delivery so I actually ordered the gaming version and set for prime day delivery fri. Hopefully one of them will get delivered. If I get both and my son doesn’t want the other I will return one, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Given the fact that Diablo 4 is £70 which is something I was going to purchase anyway. This at best would cost me £520. Obviously it’s still expensive but I can’t see thst being beaten anytime soon.

I’ve always had problems with AMD cards with driver issues so I’ve always stayed away

I can attest to this and checking stock frequently on that page. The 'gaming' edition was in stock an hour ago and also yesterday. The standard trio card was also in stock yesterday.

Managed to grab two 4070Tis from Amazon a few days ago, one slightly less and slightly more than this. (edited)

That was a major Amazon misprice, so you got very lucky. Possibly the best deal of the year, nothing will beat it! Even with the 12GB VRAM I'd take it.

1 bought an EVGA 1080ti for this price, nearly 6 years ago. This isn't even 70 class silcone, as others have posted above, it's an extremely overpriced 60 class card. Don't give Nvidia your money.
