This is the cheapest a 4070 Ti has ever been excluding the price error at Amazon for £600 and previous price errors. The next cheapest 4070 Ti is £800+

    still a terrible price.
reviews here praise the performance at 4k, which won't be the issue.

    techspot.com/rev…ti/

the issue is the price for a 12gb vram card.... ngreedia strikes again

nvidia also renamed the cards following backlash
when the 4080 released with its £1000 price tag and mid par performance gains they got blasted.
    so they did the following

The rtx 4080 = changed to the 4070ti
the rtx 4070ti= changed to the 4060ti (edited)

Vram is an issue for a handful of badly optimised games. Nvidia have an 80% market share, no studios going to start pumping out games most of its customer can’t run this year or for the next 5 years

There’s also evidence that shows the 12GB 4070ti purpose of ring the 24 gb much faster memory bus 3090 in the majority of benchmark tests. Vram does no dictate the capability of performance of a graphics card.

Don't pay much attention to PC hardware these days, but I'm sure I heard 12GB cards are crippled, because that memory setup only works with a smaller bus or something, and in some circumstances worse than the equivalent with 8GB?
    loverboy21's avatar
    loverboy21
Yes crippled 192 bus. The 4080 is 256 bus.

If you play at 4K you want the 256 bus cards AMD or NVIDIA. (edited)

I ordered the 7900xt for 742 yesterday. Would you guys return it for this?
Diablo is one of my main games, so the free game is a nice saving. (edited)

No. Maybe if you could get your hands on the Amazon deal for £600 then it'd be worth it, but the 7900 XT is a faster card that'll be a lot more future-proof due to the VRAM. If you were happy to pay that price for one yesterday, I'd stick to your guns. There's not enough of a saving here to downgrade.

NVidia if your reading this.... id bite at £500 or il go amd instead

Gamers nexus "The 4070 Ti is, and never will be, “3x better” than the RTX 3090 Ti -- despite NVIDIA’s misleading marketing to the contrary. It is hardly better than a 3080 -- and sometimes not even that -- and its positioning forces NVIDIA to choose between two bad options: One, they could call it a “4080” and implicitly state that there’s been no generational improvement between 80-class cards for 2 years while increasing the price by $200, or two, they could call it a “4070 Ti” and tell customers that the 70-class silicon is now 60% more expensive than 2 years ago. Neither option is good, and it was too late to fully cancel the product by the time they realized their mistakes. " (edited)

    Aj_KNYT's avatar

id wait, these will drop in price again...
People have become wise to "ngreedia's" market manipulation & money grabbing techniques.
The 40 series will not sell many units, spending has slowed, there's more supply than demand.
These will drop, just like flash storage has dropped 38% in 2 years.

nvidia also renamed the cards following backlash

Fully-agree. 12GB will limit this card to AAA gaming @ 1080P within a year. You'll need minimum 16GB for any longevity @ 1440P or above. (edited)

Pathetic cards by Nvidia this generation. Happy with my 3080 and will upgrade to the 5090.

    Have some heat though OP.

If anyone is feeling very lucky, Amazon have been listing the MSI 4070ti's at £580 for Ventus and £600/£630 for Trio the past couple weeks.

Probably a pricing error, but they have had very limited numbers in stock since the 13th (occasionally being restocked). Was able to grab 2 cards myself, about a week between orders (returned the Ventus).

The 29th was the last time I saw any in stock.

This GPU is the equivalent of what the 3060 was in the Ampere lineup folks. It's crazy how quickly y'all are being normalized to this insanity, thinking tiny discounts suddenly make them worthwhile or something?

Performs to a 3090 level though at 50% of the original price. Rather take a 7900xt over this given the 20gb vram and slightly faster performance. (edited)

I don't think Nvidia care all that much at the moment what gamers think. Its all about AI and bringing about the apocalypse:

It has already been normalized. Gaming is going to be a rather small part of Nvidia going forwards... their data center and AI revenue is up considerably. They don't have to listen to gamers

Its up to you wether its worth £712, I personally think that these should be priced at £600 - £650 tops. I wouldn't pay £700 without the game., its a decent card but shocking value, the only good value seems to be the 4070 if it can be had at around £500 - £550 (edited)
