So I posted this link up in another post and a few people have commented say that the link has helped them so I thought I’d make my own post so the deal is seen by a wider audience.

This deal represents fantastic savings given that the basic £15 cover shown below is £80 for the year direct from The AA website and the £95 deal would be £204.

So the headline, reel you in basic cover is £15 for the year. This will cover a single car and get you recovery if you breakdown further than 1/4 mile from your home.

4142996_1.jpg
If you want family cover with all the bells and whistles then it’ll cost you £95 for the year.

I appreciate this deal might not be for everyone but if it helps 1 person save a few quid then my work here is done.

The onward travel is a bit of a red herring as when you request it they'll go "A low loader will be 8 hours, or I can just take you to a garage now..".

Thanks for posting there’s a drop down box where you can turn off automatic renewal recommend ticking that (this means you lose the £1.50 a month payment option) and have to pay the FULL £15 up front though .

In this situation also, I took this deal last year. I just signed up again using this deal link, but setting the start date of this new policy to the day after my existing policy expires. All details the same - name, car, address. Only thing I changed was email address as this is whats used to generate your account. (edited)

I cancelled a few months ago as my £13 a month package (me and my wife in any car, at home, national recovery, and onward travel) was going up to £38 a month!

Don’t need this because I’m already covered, but without any doubt the AA is the best of all the recovery services. Far more patrols, much more likely to reach you quickly, much less likely to subcontract to garages, and therefore much more likely to fix a problem on the spot.

That's not true at all, I've heard RAC are much better.

Have you been unfortunate enough to use their services? They are absolutely horrendous and treat you like cattle if you properly break down. I broke down on the M4 at 16:00 and didn't get back to my home address until 06:00 the next morning (From J4 > Bristol). I Had multiple delays and 4 different recovery vehicles!

They don't give two hoots about customer service.

Open the top cashback website and search for AA and visit the AA website via Top Cashback, and leave it to one side, and click on this link above and complete the checkout via this link, it should automatically track, just make sure to clear history on your pc or laptop..it won't work via phone I don't think so ....so just use your pc or laptop.... Is this dependent on the age of the car? Do they cover cars over 15 years old?
    sabresonic's avatar
    sabresonic
My Mazda 5 MPV is on a 2008 plate, I had to provide registration number even though the cover was for me and not the car. It recognized the car but didn't flag up anything re age, it didn't cost any more and the process went through fine. If that's helpful and puts any concerns aside Worse they can do is say sorry but there is nowhere that mentions the age of the car though I believe it does on certain affiliate sites.

My quote is coming to £235 for 2 people and parts and garage. Is that right?

Without parts and garage add on this would be £75.

£235.15 with P&G add on is still a deal. This would normally be upwards of £500 considering that you have chosen all the add on options

    Just an FYI

I managed to cock mine up last night/early this morning and missed an item off so thought I'd call this morning to see if it can be added on rather than cancel policy (14 day cooling off) and take out another. I spoke to their customer services but have to call back tomorrow as I'd predated the policy to start then.

Long story short, I asked how long the promotion was running for and was told another 10 days. I've only posted this as some people were concerned that it might get cancelled soon due to the process being abused by large numbers of people applying who may not be entitled to etc. So, I wouldn't panic thinking you must get this completed today or those who have already taken a policy out using the link provided by the Op that you have to keep your curtains closed and pretend your not home today in case the AA Fraud Investigation Team come knocking!

Their CS team were very helpful, just referred to this as the 40% online promo and that even though it's online only they'll try their best to get me the extra cover over the phone with no additional cost if not they could cancel it and I could take another policy out.

I took out this policy as a separate policy then called them to cancel auto renewal on my current one that was expiring soon.

The woman on the phone suggested that she cancel this one I just took out and instead price/feature match it for the renewal on my current one so that I retain silver status.

Now my existing policy is set to renew next month price/feature matched to this deal and I'll keep my status. You should be able to do the same. (edited)

Just like car insurance, I assume they make most of their money from the lazy/forgetful who don't haggle/change company/take out a new policy with the same company as a new customer to get a better deal when the initial 12 months' cover is up.

In case this helps anyone haggle:

Love this deal and was about to take it as my RAC renewal was going to be double the price over last year's. I called up the RAC to cancel, said I was going to the AA for vehicle cover with home start (all I need) at £30, and the lady said they could offer the same for just £60. I said no and she genuinely said, "in that case we could offer you £36". I mean she'd literally just given me the higher offer! She could see the cheaper one on the screen!

I said no again and she went to "speak with the manager" and lo and behold they can now match for £30. I was tempted to say no on principle, but as we all know faff is faff and this is way I don't have to change anything. Cheeky buggers!

After my own personal experience and with friends and family, AA have been prompt at recovery and try their best to fix things at the side of the road. Even used my AA cover to test at the same time against my dad’s RAC and the AA beat them by hours. Highly recommend membership and one of the few good British company’s left it seems these days

Thanks OP. Just got renewal quote with Emergency Assist a few days ago where they offered me the grand total discount of £3.20 off the renewal price. This AA offer has been such good timing, signed up for £30 for vehicle cover and at home.

For those wondering if they can change the vehicle details, you can according to their terms and conditions below. I am thinking about possibly changing my car later on in the year.

    "For Vehicle cover only
The following restrictions apply in addition to the vehicle specifications set out above:
    a) AA Breakdown assistance only covers the registered Vehicle on the policy at the time of Breakdown;and
    b) the Vehicle has to be UK registered with the DVLA.
You can change the Vehicle registered under Vehicle cover (up to a maximum of 3 times) during theMembership Year. Please note that service will not be available until 24 hours after the change wasmade. If service is required within 24 hours of the change being made a charge will be payable."

Be aware that to be eligible for Parts & Garage cover you have to keep your car serviced in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations by a professional garage, and you may need to produce invoices so keep them safe. This might mean you have to take your car into the main $tealers for it's 'BIG' services and not just an oil and filter changes down at Bodgitt & Leggit Auto's. Stamps in the service book are not proof either.

"Do I have to keep my vehicle serviced regularly?
Yes. All cars require regular maintenance. Once you have nominated a vehicle for AA Parts and Garage Cover then you will need to keep it serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. You may be asked to produce evidence of servicing when you make a claim so be sure to retain your receipts and invoices. Stamped service books are not acceptable proof. Servicing must be done by a professional garage business and failure to keep your vehicle properly maintained may invalidate your claim."

I fall down here as I do all my own servicing and maintenance, but I've saved more than what it cost so the heap owes me nothing anyway

two times I've used P&G cover, no one asked if car had been serviced, I do keep it serviced regularly but not from a main garage.

This is very good offer. Only one piece of advice with AA. Do not do a direct debit or keep an eye on the payments. After 12 months they took £380 from my account without sending me any renewal notice.
Otherwise it’s a brilliant company, not had any other issue with them but saying that I only had to use them once in 2 years I was with them.

Similar situation that I posted to this thread on earlier today. Took my policy out last night but left something off, I called their CS team this morning but have to callback tomorrow as I'd set my policy to start on the 1st. They were quite helpful and suggested I should be able to add the item at the 40% discounted rate and not have to cancel and take out a new policy. You obviously know you have a 14 day cooling off period, a cancellation fee or admin was never mentioned. I'd suggest you just give them a call in the morning and politely ask if you could make an amendment and add the item, that's what I'll be doing in the morning anyway.
