I know these have dropped in price. But Amazon seem to be the cheapest around at the moment. No idea how long they will stay at this price.

If you buy directly from the LG site and use teachers discount (which didn't seem to need any kind of verification when we created an account, just asks for your personal email rather than a work one?) it takes off 20% which would bring this down to around the £1120 mark I believe. Managed to snag the last 55" CS in stock for £700 using this. Site is discountsforteachers.co.uk/ if you want to give it a shot and LG currently have an offer on for 5 year warranties on all their OLED TVs atm too!

What's the difference between this and the G2?

The G2 also has a standard 5 yr manufacturers warranty as opposed to 1 yr on the C2.
In the 1st year of the warranty, panel, parts, and labor costs are covered. In the 2nd - 5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged.
    **5-year panel warranty covers 88Z2, 88Z1, 77Z2, 77Z1, 83G2, 77G2, 65G2, 65G1, 55G2 and 55G1.

It’s a good TV but there are many other TVs which are better.

If you buy something like this from Amazon, make sure you confirm the serial numbers with Amazon just after delivery. I had a problem where they said I had the wrong serial number when I returned something and they promptly destroyed my item and would not refund or anything. I'm never buying anything over £80 again because if you fit into their standard returns policy, your good. But as soon as there is a cock up their end, your done for. Lucky my product was only £280, but I would much rather go to John Lewis in the hope that a return would be honoured.

I am not a fan of LG TV's , I can not say about this exact one , but had a few makes in my life and my LG one has been very problematic - controller center dial broke very quickly , now some buttons do not work, program menu needs re-tuning as it forgets randomly , not to mention sound seems poor as well as picture quality (ok it's not a oled),
I personally will not buy LG again!

A good price. The C3 successor has minimal improvements so is not worth the extra money.

Hmm lg C2 or G2? It's not going on the wall so I'd have to buy a stand for the G2... Still worth it over a C2?
