This Lenovo smart clock has a large 4” LED display so it's easy to read even when you're half asleep. Plus, the brightness adjusts automatically to help ease you out of bed on those early morning starts. With Amazon Alexa, you can set timers, check the weather or add items to your shopping list without lifting a finger. Just start your command with “Alexa” and away you go. Struggle getting up in the morning? Wake up to your favourite playlists or radio stations with the 3 W front-firing speaker. If only everything was that simple.

Good to know

- You can mute the mic, so it won't wake to your voice, plus there's no camera on-board for your peace of mind
- Use it as an intercom system by adding extra smart clocks around the house– let the family know when dinner is ready
- The soft fabric, modular design looks great on your bedside table

Barely picks up voice activation, it's terrible. Better off getting a echo dot clock
    Gbarrowman's avatar
Everyone that complains about the microphone sensitivity has neglected to remove the protective clear film from the front of the clock. Is this your problem?
  2. TNF1978's avatar
Worth making very clear that this is an ALEXA device, not Google.

Buying google smart clock gives you free apple service... am I the only one finding that funny
    kudos1uk's avatar
It's not a Google clock, Lenovo changed from Google to Alexa last year.

Great clock - only issue is mic pick up isn't great. You have to shout in the direction of the clock. Speaker not great. (edited)

Take the film off the front of the screen.

The downloaded manual from Lenovo.com shows a couple of things that look interesting.

One is an “indoor” icon and the other is a decibel function (see attached images).

I’m wondering if that means you can set the function display (using Alexa voice command) to show the temperature in the room instead of local. And whether your partner can measure how epic your snoring is

Anyone tried these or willing to try? Maybe “Alexa set function display to indoor temperature?”

"Indoor doesn't support that" Was it's answer

Is the temperature on display of the room or outside? Hoping in room
    sc597's avatar
Outside - from an internet feed, not a local thermometer.

does it tell the time without an internet connection ?
    Gbarrowman's avatar
Needs the Internet to set it, but shows time and will still sound clock alarms if your WiFi is  off. Obviously won’t access Alexa alarms or music without WiFi.

How does this compare to this if anyone has any experience please?:

I've got that one, it's been great. Identical functionality to the Lenovo ones which ere now discontinued.

I’m sorry to say but these are awful I own one and you need to literally shout to get Alexa to be activated. Personally I’d go for the echo with the digital clock or the echo show 5. I got me a refurbed one for £30 on Amazon .

Like previous comments, have you removed the plastic film that obscures the microphone such that it cant hear you?

I have the older Google version - 2 years in and I am starting to see commonly-reported issue where some of the display elements start to dim - I would assume the same issue will eventually creep in on these versions
    TheVoice's avatar
Mine has done this too, but the Alexa one uses a different display so it's entirely possible they've fixed the issue.

    Get an echo show
    deleted2919055's avatar
    bit more than £20 though..

Where can I get its adapter?

Are people upvoting the clock or the Apple sub?
  14. Jijin2's avatar
Does it use the screen as a timer?
  15. torroxcampo's avatar
Can you use this to play radio for when you wake up etc
    sc597's avatar
    Yes
  16. Hoara's avatar
currys really tee'd this up by going national bbc with home speaker sales being down. damn!
  17. gmmmmm's avatar
Can you display pictures on this ?
    mutav's avatar
I can't see anything to that effect on the specs, so I'm assuming not (edited)
  18. arb_uk's avatar
shame that it is not Google anymore. I have a version 1 of this clock and one of the Led strip is gone so was looking to replace/upgrade
  19. mutav's avatar
Where's some information on the 3 months Apple services? I can't see any. Might be worth the price alone depending on the details (e.g. no good for me if for new customers only)
    NoNamesLeftWhy's avatar
You wont get the same length of time as new customers, for example instead of 3 months apple music I only get 2.

Thanks, I never knew these existed.
Beats having my phone by the bed each night, I can turn my phone all the way off now.
    Ordered.

How long is the power cable?
  22. 3fttonowhere's avatar
If this clock is as bad as the first Lenovo clock then it's a waste of money
  23. JohnFrank's avatar
Can this play at the same time that another amazon echo does? (stereo)
    Jon_atkinson's avatar
    No

Does amazing listen in to you and the wife after all the love honey goods arrive! Pretty sure they were busted for it!
    Gbarrowman's avatar
Yes. There’s a website of the recordings.
  25. carlosc.'s avatar
    Does it have Bluetooth connectivity?
  26. LoveTV's avatar
I like the one with Google, but one of the letters is fading out. Hope my warranty helps?
  27. deleted2919055's avatar
    Does it have battery backup?

Power cuts happen a fair bit where I live (yes, I know, use your phone. I do but sometimes I forget it and leave it downstairs)
    deleted2919055's avatar
surprisingly fast answer from lenovo, so answering my own question in case anyone else wants to know : the answer is no, it does not.
  28. daniel.millssI4's avatar
The Government would never dream of spying on you with one of these.
    Jon_Snow's avatar
Like all Alexa devices, you can disable the microphone.
  29. Tonya22's avatar
Does it have a USB port on the back like the original Lenvo clocks with Google?
    jsac's avatar
    No
  30. adebisi30's avatar
What's included in the apple sub? Can I sell that part?
  31. Estel_Ellessar's avatar
Mine just arrived but I'll be sending it back sadly. I only bought it so my wife could play her Apple Music sub through this however it turns out Apple Music is only supported on Amazon Alexa devices only. Apple say to talk to Lenovo and Lenovo say to talk to Apple. Shame. Good device otherwise though.
    Renmur's avatar
This is a Alexa device tho, isn’t it ? Also can’t you just connect ur phone thru Bluetooth and play Apple Music that way? Mine arrived today, but the sound quality in comparison to eco dot is crap.
  32. adebisi30's avatar
Can't get mine to connect to any wifi using multiple phones. Very strange.
