Most Bannatynes are simply a gym with a pool, sauna etc rather than a spa. You have to pay for the hire of dressing gown and slippers so you can add £12 to this cost. These Wowcher deals are commonplace as this is the main way that Bannatynes sell the spa day no one buys them at "full price". Read the reviews on Tripadvisor - there are plenty of opinions there of the Wowcher "deal" (edited)

I went to a Bannatyne spa once with an ex. When they called for us to go in, we were greeted by a young pretty girl and a, let's say burly mature woman who looked like she could push a tractor onto its side.

We exchanged a look and naturally I went with the older of the two masseuses, internally quite disappointed but I sucked it up at the time.

We met up afterwards and she complained that the massage was pretty average, didn't really press down hard enough and work the muscles. I on the other hand got my back absolutely mangled and it was great. I felt like a new man I was moving around like I was 16 again.

Bannatyne spa massages are awful. The seem to employ young, barely, qualified staff and make as little effort as possible.

they should advertise as 30 mins of lotion rub, not massage.

Hmmm. The photo looks like ‘The Backrooms’ the endless creepy pasta alternative dimension inhabited by lovecraftian monstrosities.

I'd read the reviews on Google before you book, then not book

Bring your own flip flops and save yourself a tenner, robes aren't required.

We got bought a couples one of these last year and it was ok, nothing great .
As mentioned it's basically a leisure centre and we had our treatments and came down to the pool where they were doing a fitness class for the elderly so we couldn't really use the pool for a hour.

I had this exact same experience

    Went to their Chingford spa.
Arrived on time but was left waiting for Twenty minutes only to be told that they would deduct twenty minutes from my massage.
Had to pay £15 to rent a robe and for cheap slippers

    Pool was damp and mouldy
    Changing area dirty and mouldy

    Avoid if you can
