went Aldi but couldn't see this on wine shelf or a price tag, couldn't find anyone to ask - will have to take another trip

Our local one had them on a pallet at the end of an aisle, not on a shelf at all.

Can anyone recommend a good ‘red’ from one of the mainstream supermarkets (including. Aldi/Lidl) which is HUKD priced please?

I love lidls primitivo but I'm no wine connoisseur

Belle France red reduced to £3.49 fom £9.99. Probably worth the reduced price but I would have been very annoyed if I had paid full price. Not a nice wine.

Thanks for posting that picture General. I fancy having a go at that Amarone at £11:99

Just bought 5 bottles (3 garden route Rose & 2 Marlborough). Part of Xmas presents.
2 pallets full of all 3 named wines in the deal in Bedlington, Northumberland store.
Garden Route Sauvignon Blanc was recommended in Nov 30 Metro paper. So took a chance that rose one would be nice also.

    Thanks OP. Heat added. (edited)

    That'
s the store I went to and was told only 2 per customer. Also heard another customer being told the same thing! Lucky you!

Mispriced at around £4.49 in my local but went through at £3.49.

I bought 3 this morning - two yesterday - I tried it last night slightly thick head this morning so it's good red wine in my view - they said there was no limit on this offer in my Aldi
    Bbqueue's avatar
Yup, no restriction advertised and no issue's at the till for me
  9. mad_design_man's avatar
Wouldn’t pay more than £1 for these!

    marzy100's avatar

    Ps that’s scotland

Got some, thanks OP. Cheaper than cooking wine!

Yeah, filled from the same tanker. Just a different sticker and colouring stuff (food grade one if you lucky)

Plenty of bottles of all 3 types in Great Harwood store this afternoon. You have to look hard as it is mixed in with other wines in the wine section

Picked up 4 x Sauv Blancs and a rosé. Would've got more if I'd been in the car.
    Thanks for posting, OP! (edited)

No thanks. Tried for the much advertised half price fancy French stuff last week, was available as rocking horse ****.
Fortunately I'm on holiday in Spain. Just paid 5euro for a 5litre keg of vino tinto from Lidl. It goes well with olives, nuts and Netflix. Not sure about the grape breakdown, but as they say in Glasgow..it gets you there. (Unlike Transpennine Express).

Frankly you cant get mugged off on a Marlborough NZ sav blanc at the £3.49 price. Eastleigh SO50 store shelves pretty cleared of the white. Apologies got 2 cases for the wife.

Great price for Marlborough box of 6 bought.
  25. Auditgal's avatar
Anyone know the prices of these in Wales(and Scotland)?

Got 2 roses today. Limit of 2 bottles in our store

Is this the final wine of the week? Plenty of stock of both red and rose in Nantwich but no white.
  28. y_knot_me's avatar
    I love a nice claret
  29. lujlo's avatar
It is restricted to two bottles per person.
It is at the stores I've been in anyway. Just incase you get to the till with a trolley full and get turned away.
    Bbqueue's avatar
Picked up a case of the sauv blanc for a friend yesterday with no problem

Opened a bottle of the red earlier 👎
May have to slip a little port into the rest to beef it up a little! #gnatswaz

We just tried a glass of the Marlborough Sounds SB.
It is so acidic, it's like drinking cheap lemon juice. I'm going back tomorrow for a refund. Nasty.
I can't believe how bad it is. Might be good for descaling kettles.

Where can I buy litmus paper from locally?
    steve765's avatar
    Bought 2. Not tried yet.
If it’s like you say…it’s still good enough to give to someone as part of their Xmas present. (edited)
  34. girag1847's avatar
None of these wines are good.. maybe just have a bottle or 2 at home during Christmas to serve to visitors that you don't really like !... I seriously can not believe the stated original price is real
    stefwalker's avatar
    Garden route ones are nice
  35. bwmxyz's avatar
If you're paying 7 quid for a bottle of win the wine itself is about 30p of that
  36. Arcsga's avatar
Ok so the SB is a bit of a disappointment compared to what you would expect from a £10 or even any £7/8 bottle of NZ SB however, is it drinkable at the £3.50 price in this current climate..... yes. it is a bit high on acidity, however young SB can tend to be. but yes we can all agree who ever set the original £10 price didn't taste it and did so from the label and provenance only Yet to try the Red.......
