Console only. Does that literally mean no pad or wires?

Such a good console at this price...

I have 3x Series X's in the house (2 Daughters and Mine) and 1x Series S (Bedroom)

Have a PS5, Switch and PC in the house but the Xbox's get used the most by far due to Gamepass.

Great Value, grab this and 3 years Game Pass Ultimate and you will have unbeatable value entertainment for the next 3 years

If I dident have my next child due I would be all over this deal purely for game pass but I’ll have to stick with my Turkish psn deluxe till 2030

Good price, but I'd seriously save up for a Series X instead. This console isn't that powerful and will struggle to run future games like GTA 6 properly. Series X has a disc drive as well so you can trade in finished games.
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
    Why lie to people?

There's no evidence that it will struggle with future games.

Did PS4 struggle to run Tsushima, Last of Us 2 or Horizon Forbidden West? Did games looks better at the start of a generation?

No. Games run better over time because developers learn how to better manage consoles over their lifespan. Only in NEXT gen crossover games will you start to see the creaks of old systems. That, and lazy development.

Also, handing your mate a finished game is fine, but you can literally share your entire catalogue with Xbox game share with digital purchases, so you only have to buy one copy to both play. That's way better than having to swap discs.

And if you sell the disc, then you essentially rented it anyway, so not all that difference to a subscription service 🤷‍♂️ (edited)

If you have slow internet, it literally can take days to download stuff a big minus if going digital. Some people make out any game you download your playing within an hour or two, if only that was the case for a lot of people. (edited)
    1mran's avatar
you can pair an s or x (or ps5 for that matter) to a slow cheap HDD / SSD and transfer back and forth. so at least you're not limited to that incredibly tiny S internal storage.
  5. marklilliman's avatar
It’s such a good console. Whisper quiet also.
  6. jona77's avatar
I think it’s common knowledge that Microsoft’s 2 consoles sales have tanked in Europe in the last year. I think the main reason is probably down to the lack of aaa rated games. I’m half tempted at this price like others have mentioned to buy this with game pass. I’ve only ever owned a switch mainly for the kids.
    BrianButterfield's avatar
Yeah people spend hundreds to play amazing exclusives, Phil Spencer has tanked Microsoft so hard and I'm surprised he hasn't been fired. That said Sony's exclusives were great in the PS4 era, so I think that has carried them this far, but they keep doing the same thing over and over now and it's boring.
  7. 20LEGENDUnited's avatar
Had mine since day 1 and loved it. I only play a handful of games so it’s perfect for me. Why people pay £400 for a console just to play FIFA, I will never know.
  8. StainLora's avatar
This will hit £149.99 soon. (edited)
    lungwun's avatar
    I am here for it.

Will replace my decade old Day One Xbox One in my home office thats still chugging along nicely.
  9. y2afuk77's avatar
512GB digital how big are the games? How many will fit 512GB
    20LEGENDUnited's avatar
Currently have 5 games installed, FIFA 23, Elisted, Hitman Trilogy, Halo Infinite multiplayer, Gears 5 and all but one courtesy of game pass.  Could probably download a few small indie games  too. This console is perfect for a casual gamer. (edited)
  10. XP200's avatar
Plus let us not forget a high percentage of your xbox 360 and OG digital games will also come with you, i personally have over 300 xbox 360 and OG games on this box, along with my xbox one games, and a good pile of them get access to frame boost and auto hdr.

So even if you do not spend a penny on modern games, you got one hell of a back compat machine in this little box, plus lekky wise it is insanly low to run, i have not seen it top 70 watts with it usually not breaking 50 watts while playing games, so connect that up to a 1080p 27in monitor pulling 20 watts and you are gaming will under 100 watts a hour, so no 5th yacht for your lekky company ceo this year.
    Professor_Chaos's avatar
Sooooo you’re saying I SHOULDNT buy that second hand PS4 for under £100?
  11. superal's avatar
Microsoft need to sort out game pass family and friends
  12. DevilsNeverCry's avatar
I would highly recommend those considering this also factor in the cost of the memory expansion, because unless you only play Indies, you're gonna fill it up within the first 30 minutes with a small number of big titles on there.
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
Not necessarily. Only if you play COD, FIFA and Fortnite, and basically nothing else
  13. captain_brown's avatar
Do gamepass pc saves sync with Xbox if your using the same account?
    outerheaven8's avatar
They should yeah, I've gone back and forth between pc and console and I've never had issues with continuing my save. Not sure if it's the same for every game, but Microsoft first party games do it without issue. Just need to make sure the save has time to upload before turning off your pc/console if switching.
  14. furiousrabbit's avatar
Will this run recent games like modern warfare 3? Smoothly?
    TheCostOfLies's avatar
Yes. Every current gen game will run fine. Not always 60fps, but usually very stable
  15. bpaddy's avatar
Amazing as a retro gaming workhorse. Gamepass not so much 🤷‍♂️
    Revenge's avatar
How can I use it for retro games, isn't that part of the game pass?
  16. Aariyan's avatar
Does anyone know, EAFC 24 latest gen run on this console?
    20LEGENDUnited's avatar
    Yes it does

I love my series’s s. Had it coming up 3 years and gotten so much value out of it. (edited)

Same traded in my PS4 to game along with 90 for it back then.

My wee boy has it on every day. I can't get near it now. Tho would be tempted to buy another one just for the living room.
  21. TommyGunn's avatar
Great deal, cracking little box for the price. But for me, it has been really hamstrung by the small internal storage and the extortionate cost of expansion cards (its like the PS Vita all over again!). I got my console on the 24m all access deal a couple of years ago, and I am kicking myself that I didn't spring the extra £9/£10 per month to get the X with more storage and importantly, a disc drive.

I have Forza Horizon 5, GTA online and Fifa 23 installed and those 3 games between them take up the vast majority of my disc space. I have about 55gb remaining and that isn't enough for most of the newest releases unfortnuately. I have tried cloud gaming and it is pretty good, but has been somewhat inconsistent for me.

As others have stated; for casual gaming this is spot on. If you have youngsters who just want to play Fortnite/Fifa/Rocket League, the Series S is ideal. Pair it with game pass and you are set.
    bobdylan's avatar
Just buy a cheap external harddrive and install and play all Xbox One games from that. Just leave the internal drive for the Xbox Series S/X games to be installed and you're sorted (edited)

Great price but don’t really need one. Would impulse buy at £150.
  26. Cavs's avatar
    £150 acceptable isn't bad either
    Rhakio's avatar
Acceptable can be even cracked, or missing buttons on controler. Would rather get used from market place or ebay than buy something Acceptable from Amazon. And i say this as employer that work next to station and people who grade them
  27. mama83's avatar
    £183.88 now!

This a great deal but not as good deal as some of the others around that include the 3 month game pass. So if you are wanting it for that better value elsewhere
  29. zeo141's avatar
Great little console. The only downside is only 512gb disk.
  30. Professor_Chaos's avatar
does this console have downloadable games only? ie no physical blu ray or whatever? Meaning you cant get second hand cheap games for it?
    dani121's avatar
    Correct, digital only.
  31. Si_Hasrisen's avatar
I think this doesn't come with a controller..it is just the console only. Does anyone know different?
    scatman69's avatar
    It comes with a controller
  32. PureMAD4's avatar
Why has this expired? Still coming up for me.
    dani121's avatar
Its no longer sold by Amazon, only third party sellers. (edited)
  33. scatman69's avatar
Amazon no longer have them for this price but £186 from a third party.
  34. telboy69's avatar
    Lovely stuff.

Nah. Someone asked my son plays Fornite and Fifa on a Full HD TV. Which console would you recommend?

You wouldn't recommend anything but this... so they made it for a reason.
  38. jameel_ismail's avatar
I posted it for 184.90 then it got merged lol
    Forgot about this
  39. spaceinvader's avatar
What I don't get is how the black version of this at £280 went hot. People are crackers. 2 pence worth of pigment & they're happy to pay an extra £100

The description states the below but the link now goes to a variation that says xbox only; has the deal now ended?

update : ok it might be still on - the link does seem to circle the options with a controller still
