Word of warning for people thinking of joining DL. It's run very badly. Constant issues at various locations, issues with the cafe, food, hot water, spas, fly infestations, and all sorts. They are owned by private equity so the game is to inflate valuations so they can sell for a huge profit and make an exit. Sadly members paying £300+/month for a couple suffer the cost of their operational ineptitude.

Spot on. Our membership as a couple was about £130 a month. We’ve been there only 2 years, it is now £186.50 each a month!

Free day pass probably have to give them bank details and cancel on the day and still end up paying 3 months

I signed up for a free week’s pass earlier in the year and it was an absolute nightmare to get out of the contract. Not worth the hassle imo (edited)
TheAceofSpades
A contract is required for a FREE weeks pass!? Wtf no chance they're getting my bank details!

You just need to play the system! I've done loads of free days and never been made to pay anything or give bank details. Thanks OP, a nice tonic after Christmas!
suarez_777
Hi what do you mean by play the system? Dont they ask for photo id? This is my first time signing up, will take mum. Can you give me any tips to ‘play the system’? Thanks

Been a member at my gym for 22 years. It has changed hand a few times and has been DL for past 6 years. Membership has gone up ridiculous amounts over the past 2-3 years. Not run well, not the best service but prices are ‘premium’. Unfortunately no other club of that calibre in the local area.

Given what members pay, I wish they would not offer this. Hope they can’t use the saunas
DealFreak
I've used the sauna no probs on a guest pass, see you in there!

not worth the hassle. stalked for months and bombarded by emails and calls prices are ridiculous and as someone already said 3 months notice if you sign up and leave.

I’m a member and I can’t even get them to reply to an email to add someone to my membership. I don’t know whether to be jealous of you or not.

Current member here, signed up for a year because they’re the closest swimming pool to me. They require three months written notice to leave now, price is going up and the facilities have got worse. The spas are overcrowded and dirty. Don’t bother is my advice, not worth the huge expense.

I have an easy way to get out of this
Sign up to the job seekers allowance, get the email and then cancel your claim (don't waste their time)
Send them your letter. I used to do this frequently when I wanted the odd month here and there, particularly in the winter so that I could use the heated outdoor pool

The passes go quick. But don't worry they have your details and will contact you to try and sell you a membership

Heaven forbid they try to run a business

Very high end premium gym( only in name).

What’s the point of a single day? In their sales pitch I’d be asking to try more days at different times as “I can’t commit to such a big financial outlay after one day, most of which was orientating myself”
TKDBlackbelt
Say that all you like, they'll just ignore you. Take it or leave it company.
I joined last April and the whole club had been revamped in that time, excellent facilities and worth every penny to me and my family, each to their own.
The sales staff I've had to deal with have been poor, but that was at the start I have no contact with them now

It's rather pointless for most people living in London as the locations given aren't really located in London with the exception of Kensington road Acton.
It's likely that the other gym groups will be doing a similar thing to entice new members, so it might be best to wait for one of them that actually caters for London properly (edited)
Danielle2109
You’ll probably find most of the London clubs are premium clubs therefor charge more monthly than the clubs this offer is available in. My club is premium and is usually not on the list of clubs with offers. We pay more monthly than other clubs around us, outside of London.

Thank you heat added OP

I got a feeling its just a visit and not you using the gym?

Was a member at Worthing but was a big hassle to cancel. When I moved out of the area. I'm tempted for 1 free day pass again but just don't want the incessant sales pitch telling me to rejoin for a three month 'trial'
