4) Serve hot and do not reheat. Cooking appliances may vary. These instructions are given as a guide.

Storage Instructions: ‎Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep tightly closed.

  • Vegetarian, Plant-Based

I buy this rice and it frequently pops up on my personalised nectar prices for £5.79. (edited)

This is a good rice but it's not real Thai Jasmine Rice.

Originally from Thailand, I don't find it fragrant.

Any recommend a good rice maker?

National or Panasonic are the go to for Asian's. But getting them here in the UK especially with the UK power cord/3 pin is difficult unless you go to somewhere like Wing Yip.

Can someone please confirm that this rice is good quality i.e not broken?
    tepid's avatar
It’s not broken and it is good quality. It’s a short grain sticky rice.

They are different, so not a fair comparison.

Cheaper than most of the specialist Chinese and Asian grocery shops

Good rice, it has a _candy_ texture, not everyone's taste. I like it, heat added.

I've never heard of that expression before

Really delicious rice except I'm still working my way through the last bag and I've got half bag of basmati to use as well

We always buy this brand when it’s on offer. Sometimes it’s in your local Lidl or Asda for the same price. Asian swear by this brand and price for cost effective and quality. My family go through a 2 bags a month.

I think I’ve seen this in Lidl for £6 and Asda (can’t remember the price)too.

    Rice or plastic

Was about to buy until I read it as sticky. So when cooked does it turn out as sticky rice?
    Chz's avatar
Depends how much (or at all!) you wash it first. 2 rinses and it's not all that sticky. Just eat as is if you like sticky rice.

This rice we bought from Lidl.. it's really sticky and not as fragrant as the green dragon brand. I am Asian and hated eating this as it was really sloppy. If you are making sushi it might be worth it. I washed it 5 times and rinsed till the water was clear. I put less water than usual and my rice cooker is a high quality one which costs 200 quid and it still didn't save it.

This rice would be perfect for the Thai mango sticky rice pudding but for normal cuisine pairing it's pretty bad! Never again unless I need sticky rice for specific dishes. (edited)

Definitely cheaper than the ones I pick up from Costco.
  19. gordon.ho's avatar
the best price was 4.99 in morrison. this may not good as green dragon but i used to eat this daily. just keep in mind you need a very good japan pressure cooker to make it right, e.g Toshiba, Panasonic, Zojirushi, Tiger.

Not tried this brand b4 but willing to give it a go at this price thanks.

But I'm sure "Uncle Roger" wouldn't be impressed with the cooking instructions

    3) Once cooked, remove from the heat, DRAIN and leave
    to stand for 3 minutes.

usual bottom price, and cheaper with discount codes or personal sainsbury promo codes. it is ok, but true thai rice, but is ok.
