I've been with Costco for about 10 years but decided I'm not renewing my membership again, to me it's kind of pointless unless you go for specific products as the likes of Asda and Tesco have been cheaper in most cases. The only decent perk I can think of is the fact Fuel at Costco is usually cheaper, but considering the price of the membership you have to get your moneys worth if you're going to use them just for fuel.

For groceries, it can be so-so, but a single larger item discounted (like a tv, fridge etc.) pays the membership in a single go for me.

Please note that there is membership criteria. So it’s not ‘just’ a friend, my wife works for the NHS so qualifies. You need a payslip or similar e.g. NHS I/d card and/or photo.
