Have been looking around for a cordless cleaner for a while. The Dyson & Samsung prices are mental but this one comes with a hefty discount and is from a reliable brand.

Looked at some of the Amazon Chinese options and didn't want to take the risk to save a few quid. From a reliable seller too - remember to use the code!

Had this model for just over a year - purchased with stacked discount codes at £227 so this is a bargain.

    Pro
    - Very good suction, and manages itself well in this regard.
    - Does not require a trigger to be pressed for operation
    - Good at picking up larger debris - like seed / cat biscuits.
    - well weighted stand to dock and charge / hold accessories.
    - Filters and collection bin can be washed in warm water.
    - Rotary brushes are easy to remove and clean without need for tools.

    Con
    - Battery life not amazing. Probably enough for 30 mins cleaning. Would recommend a second battery if you have more than a 2 bed home.
    - Filter in our case requires very frequent washes as performance can quickly degrade and the motor whine increases. It says up to 4 months but in reality in our home it's more like 3-4 uses.
    - Some accessories like the crevice tool can be brittle / fragile and too clever for their own good.
    - Can be heavy in the hand / fatiguing to use when not attached to wand.
    - It's very specific to get vacuum to dock and charge, and if it slips the charge will be interrupted.

Overall I would recommend - particularly at this price.
I did a fair amount of research at the time and was between this, a Samsung equivalent, and the Henry cordless vac.

Worst company to deal with when it comes to any fault with the product. It's been almost 2 months that parts are not available for my oven, and the warranty is almost running out . On trust pilot, they have 1 star rating.
    valuehunter2021's avatar
Did you buy direct from AEG? If not, go back to the retailer, that is who your contract of purchase is with, and if you have been with a faulty product for some time, this is a big "inconvenience" and directly against the UK consumer law. Even if you bought direct from AEG, quote the inconvenience and UK consumer law, they will have to sort it out; and it wont matter if your warranty runs out now, you have raised the fault before it ran out.

Obviously a great deal price-wise, but this long-term review by an Amazon customer put me right off:

"It comes with a big heavy post that you have to attach it to in order to charge it. It is fiddly to attach the vacuum cleaner to as well. There are fittings on this ugly post that you can hang the half dozen brushes and nozzles it comes with on. But then you have a big, ugly, cumbersome thing and unless you have a utility room or a big cupboard under the stairs with plug sockets in then you are going to have this monstrosity in your living room or kitchen.

The main brush head fitting does not snap into locked position so it dangles and waggles about as you are carrying it. And you cannot stand it up even if you lean it against something.

It is not easy to take apart the tube segments.

The extendable pole has to be put back in factory position every time you charge it.

The dirt reservoir is very small so you have to empty it every 5 minutes.

Emptying it is very messy and it is difficult to get the reservoir back on. Many times I think I have but it falls off again.

The filters need constant cleaning and you have to take them out every time you remove the reservoir so you have to get dust everywhere. Even so, most of the time there is a warning light on it saying the filter needs cleaning!

It is not good at picking up bits of grit and cat litter off a hard floor. You think it has but then it dumps it all back down again. So you need to go over the hard floor with a broom afterwards. To be fair all this type of cordless vacuum I have tried has similar problems with gritty bits on hard floors. So you end up using a broom, brush, dustpan and the vacuum which is annoying.

The tools look good - again- but are fiddly and fragile and break as soon as you put them to their intended use."

Received a call to confirm order and to try and sell D&G Insurance. So delivery is confirmed, they will text our call with regard to time of delivery.

Hi, was it a mobile number or was the call identified as AO.COM. I got a call but didn’t answer as I thought it may be spam just now. I used PayPal to pay so no confirmation email.
  6. j_dj's avatar
I think a bit of perspective needed on the negative reviews that have been posted…very unlikely they’ve paid the £160 it’s priced at here, so niggles and irritants are more likely to be prominent if you’ve parted with £400-500 for one!
I’ve ordered one as for this price, nothing in the same bracket appears to come close. If people are whinging about having a heavy stand then what else do they want to do with it - hang it off a wall or just leave it plugged in randomly around the house!
Again, perspective against what has been likely paid for the item…although expect an onslaught of reviews following this deal on ao.com

    Spot on
I have ordered this model as I will get more accessories than the one I bought a year ago from AEG with the discount codes in the deal back then.
I have not had any issues and find the charging stand works well
There is always a trade off for size and weight v capacity of the device.

Mine arrived lunch time I unboxed it all and put it to charge on the stand. First impressions are it's very well made, the main tube is very sturdy, the attachments click on/off easily and feel secure.

Quick run over the kitchen tiled floor and hallway carpet, it adjusted suction and picked up a few bits I'd missed at the weekend. Wasn't sure how to detach the dust collector, but it was easily removed and I like that I can take it apart easily to clean. Re-attaching was a little bit of a faff, but will get easier with practice.

    Overall, very impressed.

Basically done the same and impressed as well.

Has anyone got one of these to compare with the Samsung, Dyson or Sharks?
    Stevie_Bridges's avatar
I've got a samsung jet VS15T7036R5 it was OK but doesn't last anywhere near the 40mims run time as stated and the dust collector on it is flimsy and has broken twice.

    Can the codes be stacked?

Absolute bargain. Got an older version of this and the pick up power and battery time are outstanding for a cordless vacuum.

    Reading the JL reviews here:
    johnlewis.com/aeg…575

People say it's very good on hard floors but no so much on carpet.
Also a few that have gone faulty and needed replacing within a few months.

Mine finally arrived. Seems like an awesome vacuum cleaner. Yeah the battery might be short lasting, but it's detachable so I can always buy another one if needed and also I can always charge it in 2 hours and finish what I needed to do. Seems to be performing many many times better than my Bosch 21.6v serie 4 flexxo. Which is on its last legs and 2nd replacement in a year. Thanks OP for amazing deal!
