About this deal

Works out at under 21p a roll which is the best price I've seen in years.

Large stocks in my local Aldi and it's on the website at that price so it should be national.

I've used these rolls for years and, in my opinion, they're pretty good.

Fill ya boots!

Not voting as I don’t know the detail but price per role is pretty irrelevant. Price per sheet (yes sheet) is what you need to know. Andrex have been dropping the number of sheets per roll (but increasing the size of the cardboard inner) for years. It’s invisible shrinkflation!

if you really want to get into it then worth looking at length of sheet too. I bought some Who gives a crap stuff last year. Getting past the fact it was horrible to use, the sheets are smaller so individuals in my house said they had to use 3 rather than 2 so my maths on price per sheet (assuming 2 per wipe) was off. Andrex have recently lowered their quality like many of their competitors. They're rougher, and possibly not as strong either.

About a year ago we switched from Cushelle to Andrex supreme quilts because Cushelle went from being really nice to rough as sandpaper! Now Andrex have gone rough too.

I literally don't think there's any bog roll in the UK that is soft any longer, so I'm on the look out for something decent.

I know it's only for the bob ole, but mine likes some TLC. It feels like everything in this country is a race to the bottom at the moment.

It even beats the Farmfoods 5 x 18roll (little duck) packs for £20 which equates to 22p a roll

The Farmfoods ones aren't scented though. So they don't cause skin irritation like the Aldi ones.

I normally buy Nicky 3 ply from home bargains. Has anyone tried both? How do these compare?

    V similar I've found

I wish they wouldn’t add scent to their toilet roll

Completely agree. I think Nicky are decent quality but I can't stand the scent.

My store replaced these with 'double length rolls' 12 packs a month or so ago so I imagine this is clearance and will be limited stock. A friend checked another store too, also only 12 double size packs. (edited)

Yeah, because you don't have to go in home bargains.

‘Fill ya boots’ may not be the appropriate expression to use with this product.

Not sure 'Softest Premium' is the best name for their new album and they've certainly come a long way since their Wheels of Steel tour.

Saying that, It's been absolutely worth it for this end result. It's rock'n'roll - 24 of them!

    Thanks OP, Mothers Day sorted.

Sandpaper has the advantage of turning red when you've done enough wiping.

Try Waitrose essentials, they are actually nice and soft, better than aldi, lidl or little nicky IMHO. Don't be put off that these are 2 ply though. Only tried then initially because I kept seeing old folks buying them all the time. They aren't the cheapest but they are a good compromise.

Not in my local Aldi. Bedlington, Northumberland. Shame.
