Got this TV just after Xmas for £599 Currys price match, after my Samsung broke.

Decent TV for the price. The direct array dimming is very good, produces very dark blacks, obviously not OLED levels but I'd say pretty close as I use the TV in a games room mainly at night with very low light.

One thing that does annoy is that some picture settings get disabled when a picture is on via Series X or PS5. So have to use Youtube app or something to change them. But as settings can be applied to all picture sources its no problem. So if a setting is greyed out this may be an solution.

Overall very happy with the TV for the price, much better than my older Samsung and very impressed. (edited)

Open the Youtube app and then go into settings, then picture, and then picture mode settings. Opens up pretty much most options such as local dimming etc which is on back light portion. Then you can apply to all sources. Obviously this is for non HDR mode and will use the standard picture mode, depends if you have different sources set to modes like filmmaker etc. So would have to select these to change those. No need to watch a video or anything.

Then for HDR you just need to search Youtube for a HDR video that 100% plays in HDR which you can check one in the settings. And do the same.

Only problem I've faced is Dolby Vision. Some of these are always blanked out and can't change them via Netflix or Disney on Dolby Vision videos. Dolby Vision Game mode things are always blanked out and can't be altered from my experience.

Think tbh that for PS5 you can use the HDR calibration screen to change settings but can't remember 100% on that.

I have read reviews that say the viewing angles are poor on this TV .
Anybody that has this model what are your thoughts on this.
I am interested as went to see the Panasonic TX-55MX950B yesterday and it has a great picture priced at£799 but they didn't stock Hisense to compare
    TIA.

I bought this tv for my lad, its wall mounted in his room and its only a box room, but no issues with any viewing angles, alot of tv for the money, really impressed with it

I have the 65 (paid 700 through work etc) but dirty screen effect is very annoying and considering arranging a return

1000 nits, 144hz, supports Dolby vision.
Downside is it has qc issues apparently and some aren't great so you can have a risk of a bad tv and needing to return it.
These specs are fantastic tho. Any of the other brands aside from TCL either don't go this good, or you pay 1k+

    Great TV. Heat.

Excellent deal. I've had my eye on this for a while, along with its big brother the U8K, to replace an almost 7 year old Samsung.

Edging towards this as I have a full Atmos system and, whilst the U8K has a better, brighter panel with more dimming zones, it seems a lot of the additional expense of it is in the audio department.

Question is, how low will it go? We're getting into stock clearing season for last year's models, ahead of the 2024 models. (edited)

Is this the same one as 65inch that was on sale recently? Or is it a better model?

    No idea.

Got the 55U7FQTUK 3 years ago and have been very satisfied. This is very tempting but my 3090 barely can surpass 60 fps in ultra mode 1440p in modern games
    shayman1992's avatar
Surely not, 60fps is what you'd expect from playing 4k gaming on an RTX 3090, but on 1440p you should be getting more at least around +100fps, have you updated your drivers?

This video is running modern titles at 4k ultra on an RTX 3090 and it's still getting +60fps.
