Would these work in a wardrobe?

Got damp smell on my clothes because of a damp wall behind the wardrobe. So while I raise funds for that issue, will these help?

Maybe also add a small open tub of 2:1 dry white rice & baking soda. I sell very old books, some acquired a very musty pong over the centuries - fresh baking soda (not in contact the item) does seem to eventually take the stink away & I guess the clothes pong is similar in nature.

They can do that, can you shake it up to loosen them? I've read that they can clump for the first couple of days but then fine after.

Are these reusable after emptying the water? If so how?
A: No not reusable after water has been emptied.

Can you not recycle the plastic? Are there any eco-friendly alternatives to this?

It's not difficult. Follow instructions and they will collect moisture. And you can recycle by buying crystals in Robert Days for example. Simple.
