With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

    Amazing!

Watched Oppenheimer a month or so ago at the IMAX BFI - great viewing and cost a fair few pennies, but worth it.

Cheers! Bit worried as the last time I went to a £3 showing there were drunk people who were yelling at the screen and had to be escorted away, hard to have something super cheap while avoiding riff-raff lol

Last time watched Oppenheimer some nobs were chatting the whole movie and going on their phones (edited)
    Strixx's avatar
Did you guys have to report them to the cinema staff for them to be escorted, or did the staff just notice themselves when they came into the screen and automatically remove them?

Nothing is showing for Belfast on 20th April? Are all the locations listed taking part in this?
    NorthOsiris's avatar
They’ll probably add it soon. Took a few days for Belfast to add the 10 year Interstellar IMAX showings.
  5. Jason_Jacob's avatar
Will Godzilla Vs Kong be part of this too?
    Reuben_BM's avatar
No, it will not be, the only movies playing will be:
    - The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
    - Oppenheimer (2023)
    - Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
    - The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023)

Watching oppenheimer now it's not that bad why's everyone sayings its bor zzzzzzzzzzz (edited)
    DeanoNI's avatar
It’s just won the Oscar’s for best film, best director, best actor and best supporting actor. “It’s not that bad” is quite the understatement lol
  7. madoka_ayukawa's avatar
Is it true IMAX or what they call Lie Max ?
    rprp's avatar
There's only one true IMAX in the UK. That's BFI IMAX. 70mm film projection. Just saw Dune Part Two. Absolutely mega.

The Leicester Square Cineworld IMAX is a dual 4K set up I think. Better than most cinemas, but the full IMAX experience.
  8. Tbdms's avatar
This is a joke to be honest. IMAX film fest but only one real imax movie. Hunger games has a few scenes in 1.90:1 so suppose that wouldn’t be too bad. Last years was Avatar 2, The Batman, everything everywhere and Top gun maverick. (edited)
    MusicmanJP's avatar
And Oppenheimer won't be 70mm. it'll be Liemax

guaranteed packed out cinema screening so not my cup of tea

rather pay more & enjoy the film fully on a quiet day without the various annoyances e.g. talking, phone use, seat kicking, popcorn munching, fidgeting & so on
    Tbdms's avatar
£3 is £3 though. IMAX tickets are normally £20-£24. Maybe good for a movie you’ve already seen before.

I thought it was pretty boring and went on too long - by the time they get to the courtroom I lost the will to watch any more. Out of all the Oscar nominations, the only ones I thought were worth watching were Poor Things, Barbie, The Zone of Interest and Past Lives.

honestly i'd rather pay the normal rate in a dead cinema than a loaded cinema full of chavs and kids

Lots of Oppenheimer discourse in here, but I'd also recommend looking into the Spiderverse movies. I'm not especially a superhero movie fan, and yet they are my favourite ever animated films.

Good writing, and incredible visually and a great soundtrack means it definitely benefits from 'the screen experience'™

Just booked Oppenheimer at the Imax in Leicester Square - in a prime position seat
Haven't been to this cinema since it was the old 'Empire', been wanting to tryout the Imax for years (too cheapskate to pay full price!)

I got an hour into the film (via BeeTv) and to be honest I was struggling to stay focused, very annoying soundtrack & overlong scenes, I'll try to continue later it might get better, I really wanted to like this film
    deleted2963453's avatar
It doesn't get any better tbh, I was really struggling to finish it and I was really looking forward to it as I like most Nolan films.

Not impressed with the leeds whiterose imax. Went to watch dune part 2 a few days ago- i wasnt even sitting that close and the image is bordering on pixelated. Took me right out of the film. Desperate for bradford imax to reopen.
