A lot of bands are missing in the Chinese version compared to global. Will the Google play and banking apps work on flashed versions?
    MentalFloss's avatar
Yes I am using the Chinese version flashed with Oxygen OS. not had any 5g issues in any major UK city on Lebara.
Google play, banking, android auto etc all work fine. As do OTA updates.
  2. SantoshKaushik's avatar
What’s the difference from Global version?
    Wilkiedan's avatar
    Don't think this has esim

    NFC working
    Android auto working
    Banking apps working.

    Any customs to pay ?

I've just cancelled my order after about 10 days. Reading some of those 1 star reviews of the seller has put me off. It's an amazing deal but is it too good to be true? Anyone actually received theirs yet?
    2hot's avatar
I think you've hit the panic button too quickly. The seller sells hundreds, if not thousands of items and there's bound to be some 1 star reviews from a few disgruntled customers. But you have to put things in perspective as the seller also has lots of 4-5 star reviews too.

Just to add, my tracking is now showing as expected delivery date to be March 29. It's showing as 'customs clearance', 'leaving transit country/region' and I've also received an email from Evri that my parcel is on it's way. Anyone else got this and do you know what this means? Does March 29 sound right? (edited)

or anyone else in the know, are there any downsides to buying this instead of the UK version (not counting possible import duty)? Also, is the WondaMobile version UK or is it also Chinese? Thanks in advance, I'll probably order one today.
    uscool's avatar
WondaMobile is also Chinese version but the support from WondaMobile is second to none if needed and no chance of import duty but you paying more for it

only downside is chinese version esim doesnt work

When chinese version was first for sale the few that receieved them got region locked so no sim worked, but wondamobile sorted it by letting them connect to PC / laptop connect phone by USB and let them unlock it , after that they sold them pre region unlocked , no idea about this aliexpress seller guessing they are also making sure they are region unlocked before sending now but dont state anything
  6. Bargainz999's avatar
I'm a bit confused as people have said it's got no esim support, but when I checked the specs on the OnePlus UK site, it states it depends on carrier.
    52411477-JEyAr.jpg
    Can anyone please confirm?

Also can we run dual / clone apps? (edited)
    uscool's avatar
That's the UK version, the one listed here is Chinese version it doesn't support esim even when being flashed , you'll see the option but it won't work it's hardware limitation of the Chinese version

I requested the seller to relock bootloader after installing global rom.

    Seller replied with no sorry.

I asked if I would be able to use NFC Google wallet payments. And again he replied no

How easy is to relock the bootloader on these?
    uscool's avatar
    tradingshenzhen.com/en/…-os
cant confirm but easy as following Lock devices again , but as the device is already on oxygen global and unlocked bootloader easy as just doing the step lock device again

all the effort they went to flash the device and not do the easiest step to lock bootloader ? not like its not important (edited)

I'm currently using a z60 ultra and have bought this, will compare then keep one
  10. Pájaro's avatar
I have one. My advice to anyone thinking of buying one is to buy something else. Problem is, while the hardware is decent, the OxygenOS software is really buggy, with some bugs which stretch back years without OnePlus ever bothering to fix them. Unfortunately, good hardware is nothing if the software which lets you use it is bad.

    Consider Samsung instead.
    Ahers99's avatar
Can you elaborate on some of the main bugs please as I purchased this morning, so good to hear from someone who actually has this phone. Also, how's the camera? Thanks
  11. 2hot's avatar
I've just received an email from AliExpress saying my phone order has been shipped, even though seller had said 10 days to flash global rom. Anyone else had an email??
    Chris5626's avatar
Ordered mine very late on 20/02/24.
Got a notification to say it's been shipped around 16:00 21/03/24.

As with others though it's actually saying it should be delivered around mid April.

    Ordered the black 16gb/512gb version.

    ***UPDATE***

I ordered the black, 16gb/512gb version, below are current timelines (all are UK date and time).

    20 Mar 2024, 21:39 - Order confirmation
    21 Mar 2024, 14:16 - Order has shipped
24 Mar 2024, 16:49 - Order collected by shipping company and at sorting centre (edited)

Anyone else's order showing status: to ship in 15 days? Ordered on 18th March. Getting little worried.
    rb_89's avatar
Ordered 256/white 18th March morning UK time. Yesterday evening (24th) my order status finally updated to shipped. I have a tracking number now, still in China at the moment though. Hopefully yours will get processed soon

    tomsguide.com/pho…res

Good to see these updates rolling through on the OP12. Although some may not be, but I for one am hoping the AI updates for this device that have hit the Chinese ROMs will come to our side soon too..
  15. Jimiizz7's avatar
Here's the differences I'm aware of.. Uk/Europe rom has esim, android auto and more bands supported. Chinese version doesn't have esim or android auto - also has a different os but that can still be English - with some Chinese apps and settings still apparent.
Chinese actually has some version additional features such as call recording the uk/Europe version does not..
I've got the Europe version and it's very good - esim and android auto was import to me.. If it hadn't been, I'd have purchased the Chinese rom all day for the price difference.
It's a great phone by the way.
    uscool's avatar
It's flashed with global rom, android auto works acts exactly the same as if bought EU version , bootloader locked after flashing bank apps work, gets ota updates etc , only thing that doesn't work is esim that's hardware limitation of Chinese phone (edited)
  16. christopher.knowles's avatar
Has anyone received their phone yet? Waiting to see if Android Auto, Biometrics, NFC work ok with Global ROM??
    2_cool's avatar
Got mine today. It was to be delivered yesterday but Evri driver didn't come. Doesn't look used. Box a bit beaten maybe due to delivery. Banking apps working. NFC working. Don't use biometric not tried. Received update an update as well. Overall good phone. For me not much of a difference to my oppo find X2 pro.

    Also android auto working. (edited)

Thanks . Ordered. £388 paying in dollars with fee fee card. Finally time to upgrade my poco f2 pro
  19. bluejmc2005's avatar
Presumably they will remove the region lock that some others had when ordering from China? I know this has band 20 but does it have all other relevent UK 4g and 5g bands ? Absolutely stonking deal this
    dodgyc's avatar
Looks like this should cover you for everything except for some 5G on O2 (missing band n28b?) and some Three UK 4G (band B32?) according to Kimovil
Although the bands I just mentioned might not even be relevant anymore or actively in use on O2/Three in 2024, I'm just blindly quoting from Kimovil (edited)
  20. Jijin2's avatar
Oh wow, is this finally the successor to my S20 FE 5G? I didn't think I could get anything close to this specs/camera for this money. Is there anything close to this price that could compete with this phone?
    uscool's avatar
    No
  21. sapstar's avatar
Any recommended case and screen protectors? I previously preferred the gel screen protectors for curved screens. Not sure if there are glass versions which are as good these days.
    Ahers99's avatar
I believe it comes with a screen protector on and case included.

Anyone know if cancelling an order is easy? Tempted to cancel but worried that a refund will be long-winded/take ages to complete?
    y_shahs's avatar
Its easy. Can do from order page and than seller will accept it

Anyone know how to avoid customs fees, I have ordered a few things from them any every single time I get charged for customs fees plus handling fees, work not much cheaper than order it from WONDA mobile, thanks in advance
    teerex's avatar
That's unlucky. Nothing you can do really as it's sometimes it's what the retailer puts as the value of the item and whether customs are bothered to check. Most people seem to get away with it, so you're really unlucky.
  26. teerex's avatar
I want this but already have S23 Ultra, dunno what to do. Arghhhhhhhh
    Bigsteveh's avatar
I have op12, my partner has the s23u. The camera on the s23u is better, 200mp photos are insane! But the camera on the op12 is also good, plus I prefer a more standard android than Samsung offer (atleast in previous gens - on my 3rd op now!)
  27. prynolfc's avatar
What happens if the phone ends up having a customs charge attached to it? Can I just not pay the charge and wait for it to go back to AliExpress and get my initial purchase refunded? Assuming that happens though would I be like a month without the money? (edited)
    herby247's avatar
You will be informed via royal mail, item will be held at delivery office until paid for 21 days then rts.
They don't ALL get surcharged hence why you can't pay this up front.
Risk /gamble of Ali shopping unfortunately.
  28. Sergioss's avatar
Does anyone know if global room has all the updates for 4 years? ,
    MikeVuong's avatar
    Yeah
  29. 2hot's avatar
Guys, really like this phone, but I'm unclear from the conflicting comments. Can you please confirm:-

    1. Does the phone come with global rom as standard from AliExpress or will this need to be installed manually by the buyer?
    2. Is esim supported and if so, how many esims can be used?
    3. If ordered today, how quick will it arrive? Can I speed up the delivery by paying extra?

    Thanks in advance.
    Sergioss's avatar
    So
    1. yes installed by seller , on description
    2. Not sure good to check
    3. around 21 days
  30. jackweedon's avatar
Based on my experience with OnePlus customer service regarding warranty, I wouldn't ever buy another one.
    Topper1900's avatar
On the flip side paying extra in order to get a UK warranty seems pointless anyway!
  31. Joshfount's avatar
Cracking deal for a top notch smartphone as long as you're happy with buying from AliExpress 🔥
    Bee_Kayy's avatar
    The code expired anyway

    Use UK2480 - same overall $80 discount.
  33. gareth.grove's avatar
Has anyone brought this and got it? Apparently the nfc doesn't work in UK can someone confirm? The seller himself has said it won't work.
    MirrorBill's avatar
As long as they/ you relock the bootloader after the international ROM is installed it should work fine. Have been through the forums and don't see anyone complaining about this. Will let you know when I recieve mine, but they've said they aren't dispatching for around 10 days.
  34. prynolfc's avatar
I asked the seller if I can avoid customs fees, they said i have to pay taxes, no mention of marking down to avoid fees, how common is it that they do marking down from places like aliexpress warehouses? (edited)
    Ziggy23's avatar
52420523-mO3Jz.jpgIdk, replied with this when I asked.
  35. Bargainz999's avatar
Guys, does anyone know if the Oneplus 12 comes with a standard glass screen protector out of the box or does this need to be ordered separately?
    uscool's avatar
It's just normal pre applied film not glass one
Also it being curved screen it's not as simple just getting glass protector most are very poor , the only glass ones that are good are the UV glass ones stay away from cheap ones because the glue is too strong and will end up scratching screen if need to get it off

UV glass one that works great
This one comes off easily and leaves no residue, use tape to cover buttons, usb , holes etc
    (edited)
  36. 2hot's avatar
Morning - Has anyone's phone been dispatched yet? Mine is still on 'to be shipped' status.
    rb_89's avatar
No, there is a big delay with dispatch, presumably as they have to do the flashing of global rom and bootloader stuff for every phone which takes time.

If you check your order page it will state the estimated shipping + delivery time. I ordered early on on the 18th March UK time and my order currently shows "Order will ship in 19 days", "Estimated delivery date April 17th".

Bit of a wait, but worth it for the price!
  37. Abi_Thampi's avatar
Do you guys know for certain that banking and NFC is working on these phones?
    uscool's avatar
If the bootloader has been locked after flashing oxygen yes everything will work id be surprised if they haven't locked the bootloader after being flashed, you can also do it yourself if not (edited)
  38. Sergioss's avatar
    Hi,
Has anyone received the phone and confirmed phone SUPPORT NFC CONTACTLESS PAYMENTS OR BIOMETRIC BANK IDENTIFICATION ?
    52449407-1FxKO.jpg (edited)
    Bargainz999's avatar
From the flag shown, the buyer is from Lithuania, so maybe it doesn't work there? Or maybe the buyer ordered the Chinese rom version? However as far as I was aware, NFC should work, but still it would be good to confirm this. After seeing the below night video shot with a Oneplus 12 (JUMP TO 5:30 MINS), I'm very worried about it's camera/video quality which is extremely jittery and looks like it's been shot with a very cheap/faulty camera.

    (edited)
  39. 2_cool's avatar
Everyone check what you get charged at the end. Family member got charged 582 dollars instead of asking price of 490.39 USD (edited)
    David_ODowd's avatar
This would match what we paid for those who ordered at the start of the deal.
  40. Tannybash's avatar
I would not recommend a Chinese or any other version, global rom is the best as per updates and warranty issues , I had a Chinese rom version Samsung note 10 , it only ever received 1 update because of the region issues I was told by Samsung technical dept, plus to return handset it had to be sent back to the seller in china , just a headache
    toge's avatar
Is flashed with oxygen global edition before being sent out
