About this deal
Brand new released excel table saw. I cannot stress how good the value of this saw for a rack and pinion table saw. Cannot comment on how the quality is but I have owned the previous model and I thought that was a bargain.
Features:
Powerful 1800W motor with overload protection
Compact and lightweight design portable and easy to use
Precise cutting to meet multi angle needs
Rack & pinion telescoping rip fence with measuring guide rail
Push stick used for pushing a workpiece through the blade in any rip cut
Maximum cutting height 80mm at 90° & 58mm at 45° with the saw blade that can tilt 0°-45°
On board storage conveniently store guard, fence, wrenches and miter gauge
60mm standard dust port easily connects to a dust collector for preventing dust from splashing
Ideal for making rip cut, miter cut and cross cut

I think its a risk buying without more reviews but with the new evolutions just going live and starting at £400, the rutland being just under £300 it looks like this at £180 might be the new rage 5 being the cheap table saw with comparable quality of something twice the price. I am waiting to see what price the skil table saw comes to this country, hopefully wont be long as some uk youtubers have been sent one to review already.
The router would need to wind down beneath table height, allowing you to make use of the table width to cut large sheet timber with the table saw.
There are plenty of videos on YouTube giving examples of how to construct the above.
But, try the stock blade first - a tip often quoted… raise blade a few mm first, to get a clean cut on melamine, then raise for full cut (you will likely need to remove blade guard for this)

The saw in this deal is now appearing in various guises, very similar to the Rutland R1618 and also the soon to be released Evolution R255 of which one of the 4 variants is up on YouTube with a few reviews.
This Excel one is likely the cheapest of them, but I have concerns about the locking mechanism on the fence. Whereas both the Rutland and the new Evolution appear to share the same fence, the Evolution will also have the sliding mitre sled, like the Rage 5S. (edited)
