Piece of crap with speeds od USB 2.0 you will never reach those declared in description.
    Tested and returned for refund.

I would avoid: mine is now throttling at USB 2.0 speeds (40MB/s) regardless of which usb connection I use with multiple wires tested. It was fast at first but has seized to operate at the advertised speeds.

(I have a gen 3 nVME drive installed) (edited)

Maybe it's faulty if your cables are fine especially if on 2 PC's you see this behaviour

Can you use an sss like an old fashioned spinning external hard drive? I recall discussion about writing re-writing on ssd being deferent to erasing old fashioned hard drives or am I way behind on the times?

45 Years to improve HDDs in it's current state. An SSD would have to be the same price to replace a Mechanical Drive and there's 50TB HDD in 2030.
A Mechanical HDD gets over written where an SSD's Memory must have Blocks erased with '1's before writes using a higher Voltage.

Both types act the same way to an O/S.

Each Flash/EEPROM Memory Chip has it's own Memory Buffer and small Instruction Set.

    Behind the times ?
Commercial SSDs are 33 Years old.

Bit confused... Will my old drive work with this. M.2 2280 SATA III SSD. Key part is where I'm lost, B and B+M.

    It's not pink it's salmon.
