I got that offer for £8 last November.
The data speeds are like GPRS and the cashback never showed up.

Anyone seen a cheap sim only with the USA included bolt on?
    usenetz's avatar
Three Mobile PrePaid SIM has inclusive US roaming.

Take a look on Amazon: amazon.co.uk/Thr…RX/

With Three Go Roam on Pay As You Go you use can your UK allowance in over 70 destinations. Call or text the UK, and use up to 12GB data/month at no extra cost.

You can get 10GB data with unlimited calls and texts for £10 to use in the UK and [71 destinations](three.co.uk/sup…ons) worldwide including Australia and the USA.

Three has a roaming cap of 12GB a month.

    three.co.uk/pay…cks

Three SIM's should be activated in the UK before setting-off for the US. (edited)

Been with o2 for years, but the last few months internet signal is dreadful (London). I'm seriously considering getting a second SIM despite having 9 months left on the contract.

If you get frustrated by not being able to connect to the internet out and about, or hate waiting 2 minutes for a Google search to load, avoid o2.

Im thankfully at the end of my contract with O2, the signal is awful almost everywhere I travel around the north. My EE sim card in the same areas is absolutely fine. Cant wait to switch.
    surreyspireite's avatar
To be fair though, all networks have horrendous or poor performance in different places.
  6. Cm_Down's avatar
Not worth it. The network is way too slow
  7. HyoukDrot's avatar
Manch or Liv/wirral area ?? - don’t bother hardly any signal.

More like UK area ?? - don’t bother hardly any signal.
Works well roaming on Telefónica though.

In a caravan site in Cornwall now. O2 (and smarty) are rubbish here while Lebara works more the less fine. O2 is ok in towns/cities though.

Not in Truro. I get 0.4mbps. Yes you read that right! Half a meg

Hi everyone what is “volt” I keep seeing it on SIM card deals but I’ve been out of the game for a while. Thanks.

You see this on O2 and Virgin media deals.
Basically it's a benefit you get for having both.
Volt will increase your mobile data allowance to double and will increase your Broadband speed to next available speed, free of charge.

Poor data speeds and signal reception, i have changed to Talkmobile and everything is much better.

I am on a £10 a month contract which is rising to £10.88 this month (April). Can I still upgrade or would that be considered a downgrade and is that allowed?
    Fast.Eddie's avatar
Aha to answer my own question, I had a go at upgrading and at first it said I'd be subject to pauing off the rest of my contract but then I continued to next page and eventually before confirming anything it sdaid I could upgrade and there would be no charge for the last couple months of contract. One odd thing is that when I went through to the final page it gets me to sign up as if I've never been a customer of theirs asking for basic info like address, etc. which felt a bit odd.
  12. SeanUSX's avatar
Worth noting that this is the Disney plus premium plan, which is great compared to Uber One which is only for standard.

Me and the Mrs are both with o2 in Bournemouth, and the signal is usually not too bad (although there are regularly "issues with a tower" in the Boscombe area). We need to cut costs at the moment, so this deal is well timed! The Mrs has switched from paying £25pm for 20GB to this deal - thanks!

However, the one thing that does really p*** me off about o2 is the inability to get send receipts/delivery reports for SMS messages... I know it's a little thing, but I find it really useful! (edited)
    c_1st's avatar
Wow, thought that was only something that was possible with emails - which mobile phone companies can you recommend for sms receipts/delivery reports please? (edited)

I have taken 20 GB for 8 quid via uSwitch and I hate it
Previously I had 20 GB contract and it was enough for me for a month
Now 20 GB is not enough for a week
  15. witus78's avatar
I'm with O2 and is nightmare, all about the signal is true. I just waiting for good deal to switch.
Any Talkmobile users hear ? how good is the reception on it? (edited)
    crimsonneon13's avatar
Yeah, I'm getting an entire one bar at home, in a residential area.

O2 customer services rep tried to sell me 10GB for £10 when I am currently on 40gb for £9. She said you hardly use the data so it would be better to go to 10GB for £10 rather than this deal? I soon hung up on her
  20. Eldienne's avatar
It no longer lets me “upgrade’ an existing contract. Where as previously you could do this every three months to get the freebies it now says the remainder of the contract needs to be paid before you can upgrade. Shame.
    goombahxxx's avatar
When you go on the next page the payment goes back to zero.

Thanks op - struggled with links so went to uswitch direct and just renewed my wife’s contract to get another 3 months of Disney+.

She was only 3 months in to 12 month contract but still let me renew ok with no extra charge after initial threat of a early cancellation charge.

Ah just signed up to the £8 32/64gb deal
    Ticking_Fox's avatar
You can upgrade to this, just means that your 12 month contract will start again from today
  25. alexf's avatar
Had this level of data for £8 a month for a few years now, looks like those days are over. I'd imagine £10 will be the new low price. We'll have to wait for Black Friday to see if that's the case.
    fastclau's avatar
Usually, you get 25 or 30gb for £8
  26. ajb68's avatar
My current contract is coming to end this week with O2 would I be able to get this deal and keep number etc with o2
    fastclau's avatar
Yes! Check im your app if you're eligible for upgrade! If yes, it's simple! When you make the new contract, it will ask to sign in into your O2 account where you will upgrade/downgrade the existing number with the new contract! If no, just buy the contract with whatever number comes with, and after your original contract expires, make the switch!
  27. jwatling88's avatar
If I'm already a subscriber to Disney+, can I still have this and get the money knocked off my bill?
    fastclau's avatar
Usually, you need to have an inactive subscription or a new subscription! If you're paying monthly, just stop the payment...let it run out and then apply the disney+ code from your new O2 contract
  28. brendonhope3's avatar
    What is Volt?
  29. Dealyy's avatar
Just watch your credit history after closing the account, I moved to another network and it took multiple complaints for O2 to close down my account and amend my credit history to show the account is closed!
    jamie60509's avatar
I has that issue with Orange years ago. Was a right potch to get sorted!
  30. BoGoF's avatar
Just 2 days ago there was the £8 deal for 30gb they removed that now
    Roygroyg's avatar
That’s a much better deal but this one comes with an extra so for £2 a month you can have Disney+ or Amazon.

Ok that’s 3 month of extra only out of 12 months but for last few years O2 have let you keep renewing to a new similar deal without penalty so I’m using one account to keep getting free Disney +. Guess I could get caught out at some point when they stop this though so only do one account rather than try for both disney and prime.
  31. Robot_Cat_Dave's avatar
I live in a big city - the 02 coverage is poor.
I’m not sure I would be able to use 80GB as the coverage is so poor.
The most I have used is 10GB in a month & that was tethering in another city.
  32. Th3.Ripper's avatar
Isn't this regularly £8pm? I signed up for 2 sims at £8pm in January and February
Yes, time machine yah yah yah
    GJM's avatar
That’s what I’ve signed up to before as well, but it was quite rare or rarer for 40 gig to be available for £8. I’m not sure it’s been like that for awhile and will it ever go to £8 again I’m not sure
  33. dragonmike's avatar
I have the £8 a month uSwitch deal from a few years back which was more than enough data for me and the tariff kept rolling after the 12 months. I have also set up my Disney+ through O2 last month for the £6 a month subscription. Due to the yearly price increase, my monthly is now £10.20. I never get these offers via O2's upgrade process. If I went via uSwitch, would that be a new contract? What happens to the Disney+ subscription as I think I am tied into that for another 5 months? (edited)
  34. Julian_Clements's avatar
Very helpful - you would never find these deals on their website under the Q2 update banner - but through the link been able to upgrade my recently expired contract to the £10 deal + 3m free bolt on deal starts again - perfect.
  35. davemc37's avatar
Does this deal include free data roaming in Europe?
    ionel's avatar
    yes, up to 25gb
  36. herohonda777's avatar
    Great Deal! Thanks OP!
  37. mensy07's avatar
Do all the o2 deals come with the Volt ? Looking at the 15gb one for £7.99 as 30gb will be enough if it comes with the volt
  38. GJM's avatar
Has anyone had success with the cashback if you’re moving from one O2 Contract to the other I went through this before and I don’t think it paid out
  39. Twocanpocket's avatar
I currently have a £5 plan which I'm happy with. It ends in June. When it ends will it just go rolling at the same price?
