- I just upgraded from 500 to 910 with Vodafone. My speeds are now sloweri had to buy new router and now amazingly fast
- If you go for Vodafone make sure you go for pro setup you will get full speed on your phone with WiFi 6E router and they can send up to 3 boosters which will transform it to mesh in your home no more dead zones.Worth checking to see if it’s cheaper to get the kit yourself, which is what I did 18 months ago. May be better value now though

Can get 940 by plugging directly into the router but it's downstairs while my PC is upstairs so that is not feasible.the deco mesh you have are wifi 5. Wifi 5 real life speed top out at 500mbps, and you will need wifi 6 to get higher than that - Will it be possible for existing customers to upgrade to that?

- We’ve got Vodafone Full Fibre 500 (with no price rise until 2025) for £25 per month (£22 after Vodafone Together applied).
- Their standard routers are so bad they don't even ask for them back when you cancel!Still got mine when I left . I asked do you want it back , he said just keep it . They still tried to take the money out of my bank even after I left .
- Great price however things to consider if you get the openreach version of it:
1. With the old FTTC and copper connections speed was always limited by your distance from Exchange/Street cab which meant that ISP capacity was not so much of an issue. With FTTP that limitation is removed but ISP capacity is important. Vodafone is reasonable, but BT and Sky do have more capacity of the bigger providers. What this mean is at peak times your quoted speed will be much less, it might still overall average out to 500mbps, but if like me your work from home, sometimes its an issue
2. Vodafone DNS servers are poor, you will need to go into your route and flip over to a public DNS provider if you want good access to the internet without random errors
3. Router is ok, compared to what they had a couple of years back, the current one performs a lot better.
4. Customer service is pretty poor, was on the Mobile side and isnt much better on broadband side, its people reading of a script, if you issue is covered by a script you are fine, if not then be prepared to pull out your hairs
If the budget is really tight, Vodafone is still a reasonable choice, it will get the job done and a little bit of patience. Its a used Peugeot of ISP's, sure a BMW has more features but the Peugeot gets the job done and saves cash over the long term. - Generally speaking is anyone getting speeds of 900 download / upload when its hardwired? (edited)For the most part you should get it yes. Though it is a little area dependent as some exchange areas suffer from peak time congestion.
Where I live, I have got a pretty consistent 940-945Mb out of it when I had it. But at peak times my latency would increase a little, download dropping into the upper 800's and upload more like 500-600. Just a few miles away on a different exchange I have a friend who gets a consistent gigabit 24/7 with no issue whatsoever. - I have this. Not had any issues. 900up/900down
The only issue I have is, I like 90 miles away from London but my google searchs always put me in Bradford. Saying that, I just tried it and it seems to work but not sure if that is my browser knowing where I am from changing it.Same for me. My ip is manchester. - There basic router is such a cheap poor quality product that it keeps cutting signals. Will be a pain if you are a WFH person with frequent calls, mine keep disconnecting and then reconnecting after 5 sec or so. Raised with them and they always said they don’t see no problem with the connection but not admitting to the router problem itself. Quick search on their forum will show people suffering from this but they do not admit themselves. The agent was blaming me of poor placement and all. But the forum do say replacing router or having another as the in line router working at the WiFi provider worked miracles. So careful or if you ok to spend extra to replace the router at your expense, you will get the speed no issuesInteresting.. I've had Vodafone via cityfibre for about 4 years and it has been rock solid.
However recently VPN has been disconnecting multiple times per day and reconnecting...I figured it was VPN issue but will keep an eye on other WiFi connections given what you have said I wonder if router had developed a fault (edited) - Good luck with their customer service, straight to India when I tried their broadband. Customer service was nearly as bad as their fibre at peak timesMost of their customer service is based in Egypt rather than India. They do have 2 UK Call centres left for broadband but they mostly handle sales and upgrades nowadays.
Their general customer service isn't actually that bad. The part they struggle with is communication with their infrastructure suppliers if they need to escalate something to them like repairing a fault. The only contact they have with CityFibre or Openreach is over a live chat and they often don't have time to leave detailed notes so you sometimes end up calling multiple times to explain the same thing and then they have to chat with the suppliers again - Often unnecessarily.
Still though, while far from perfect they are still miles ahead of Virgin Media for customer service. - Looks like a top deal.

Good connection, but bloody ScammersBT Are worse.....Originally paying £31 for a 150MB pipe, now paying £43, and still got to wait to Dec 24 until the contract is up unless I bail out early with a penalty to pay - Great if the postcode lottery works in your favour.

Just remember this price is for CityFibre areas and not Openreach ones - Their price is higher.

The router is crap, yes, but we've installed a mesh network using the TP-Link Deco M9+.
You won't get 900 on WiFi but we still get around 400-600. - Avoid at all costs, you will need to add on cost of your own decent mesh router as theirs is horrific.
In my experience they didn’t pay out on Quidco either, proper charlatansi also had my quidco cashback denied
why? i have no idea. - If you are in city fibre area, you can get toob £25 per month, 18 months contract only , no price rise during the contract and no hassle of cashback etc. Also, you don't need to be a vodafone mobile customer.
As a bonus, great customer service compared to vodafone.Toob has fairly limited coverage. It's not a national CityFibre ISP like most of the other names you commonly see on CF like Vodafone, TalkTalk, Yayzi etc. - This is for the normal none Pro router package, its worth going for the Pro 2 however its more money. They aren't the best for CS though and i had a bit of a mare with them but once its setup i haven't had any issue on Pro 2, also with the Pro package you get a dedicate CS which is UK based you still need to call the Egyptian first point of call thoug intially.
- I got £29 per month and £50 cashback for full fibre 900. Cashback tracked quickly and because city fibre delayed the install and missed an engineers appointment I got around £110 in compensation. I was due to get install in march and would have been subject to a very quick price increase in April but because it then activated In April it didnt increase. Happy with over three months free effectively via bill credit. The old router was worse than my sky router though but I've hard wired the home office so no loss. Because I put a super negative review of city fibre on trust pilot I was sent the top guy in Scotland and he helped with some extra routing under the floor which meant I had the main connection coming into my hall cupboard then fed through under the floor to the router in the living room. No unsightly connection box on the inside or outside of the house 👌

I personally wouldn't worry too much about changing it though if you're one of the people who is happy with the basic routers that Vodafone give out. If you had been using your own router it would have made more sense but with their own kit I'd just leave it to do it's own thing. - My 24m contract (which started at £29/m 2 years ago increased to over £35 after recent price increase) was going to expire in few days, so I contacted VF via their chat and got Mariam from London to switch the service from 900 Pro to 900 Essentials for £31/month (no cashback of course) I had to pay +£0.87 out of plan charge.
There is no WIFI Booster or 4G backup included in this new plan - so will need to return both equipments (I wasn't using booster at all and used 4G dongle backup once when VF had service issue in our area for 3 days)
they are still cheapest for CityFibre with the dedicated IP address and didn't have any problems with them apart from their download speeds are just above minimum guaranteed level of 450MBit/s similar to uploads. They used to be ~800Mbit 2 years ago. - Must I create a landline number? I hate to manage one more thing.All Vodafone broadband accounts come with a digital landline as standard. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. Likewise, you don't have to port an existing landline number in either if you don't want and they'll just assign a random one for you.

I've the horror stories, but decided to with then anyway.
Then I ended with 5Mb/s for nearly 2 months, with support response "everything is fine on our end".
Eventually moved to another provider (zen) which straight away indicated and replaced faulty cable on the street. - How are these with sky q now. Had them a few years ago and had to reset q boxes quite often. I’ve Orderd the pro 2 package so hopefully will be better. Left sky as getting really greedy now (edited)
