I know it's B450 not B550, but if you are on a budget, it seems like a decent offer. An average user won't notice any difference between PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 anyway. From what I found on reddit, it works just fine with Ryzen 5 5600x (might require Bios update via USB).

    Only the one m2 slot?

Yeah, though that second X16(x8) socket could be used with an m.2 card adaptor. Only issue is that slot is only gen2, so it's gonna be about 1800MBps. But for games with random reads it probably won't have much, if any effect. Or there's Gen2 USBs so you could use an M.2 USB enclosure, though that's gonna top out about 1100MBps. Again probably fine for games with loads of random reads.

Good price because these boards are getting surprisingly hard to find for AM4 builds, I doubt it's the 'best board' but should be a solid mid-range one. The MSI Mortar and Tomahawk Max were better quality but haven't seen those for sale for ages.

I have an MSI Mortar Max B450 board. It's not that fast at booting, but AM4 isn't anyway. Last BIOS update was 2023-10-26. AGESA 1.2.0.B and I see there's an AGESA 1.2.0.C out now. Same for the board in this deal exact same AGESA version and BIOS update. So I expect 1.2.0.C will be coming this month.

Not seeing this yet at least on the two boards mentioned above. I think it will be for B550 chipsets.

I'd be very hesitant to get another MSI board, had so many develop issues.

I'm on my third set of ram and that is starting to fail, does anyone else have issues with physical ram corruption keep developing? This isn't overclocked at all and is installed very carefully, just stock everything, b450 pro 5600 well known ram 😞 Is this a known issue, I've not found anything online.

No all B450 MSI boards are at AGESA 1.2.0.B version with the BIOS. So you can buy the cheaper board. Just compare board features before purchasing.

MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX is only £59, which is the same power delivery and feature set (other than the audio which is meh on both) and if you are actually on a budget you can get an A520 for ~£52, the 5600X isn't going to be an issue at all. If you aren't on a budget you can get a B550 board for £10 more.

I’ve just bought a board but I don’t think it supports dual channel as I can’t get it to use it. What would be a good upgrade for it? Matx. I purchased an a320m am4
