I ordered this TV last week. Arranged for tomorrow for delivery.
Just had a long chat with Samsung (transferring me to different departments).

I think I am clear now, they are not messed up, they have designed a trap. When I put my order on 3 May this was mentioned in the website:
5 Year WarrantyPurchase a qualifying product between 22 March 2024 and 31 March 2025 and successfully register your TV to receive an additional 4 years extended limited warranty service. Not for commercial use. It’s just another great reason to choose Samsung.

Now when I asking for confirmation of 5 year warranty, they are asking my invoice (I haven't received any invoice email). When I asked from the Samsung Shop department, they say the invoice will be issued after delivery (i.e. Warranty will be confirmed after delivery of the new TV and exchange of the old TV).

It is a poorly designed marketing method to sell their TV.
My recommendation: don't buy or if you have bought cancel it (like I will do tomorrow by refusing the delivery). FYI my order was £998 for TV and free soundbar (after £200 trade).

52748538-6HgVZ.jpgI had the same thing worked out ok. Bought the tv from Samsung directly via app. When it’s delivered you need to register for the 5 year warranty with the serial number of the tv plus a copy of the invoice ( I took a screen shot of the order confirmation email). After about a week I got an email confirming 5 year warranty. Bit convoluted but not dissimilar to other manufacturers in that you need the serial no and proof of purchase.

I am just unable to make a decision on a TV. Every time I decide on one the deal I want isn't there and I change my mind to another one.

    LG

more battle tested with OLED tech
everyone i know who owns one swears by it
WOLED tech is more resilient to burn in than QD OLED
unless you are a real gamer you don't need more than 120 hz
Dolby digital HDR is better than HDR 10 (apparently)
    better, more refined software

    Samsung

    QD OLED is superior tech
QD OLED colour is light years ahead of what LG TVs can do
    144 hz > 120 hz
2nd generation QD OLEDs should be pretty resilient to burn in

Does this one use the One Connect box like the FrameTV?

    no

There's now 15% Quidco on this.

Bit the bullet and purchased today. My thinking was - don't take the APP5 discount and the total (when adding a trade in TV) should be £944. The Quidco has tracked at £141. So effectively brings the price down to around £800

Also found this page, which may give an extended warranty to three years. It's quite vague though -

I really want to pull the trigger on this but that one year warranty is really troubling.

    Stunning deal, but troubling warranty.

Agree.. after being let down by Samsung for my 75 inch TV.. I'm never getting a Samsung TV again

Don't buy Samsung they hate certain audio formats and also have a crap warranty
  7. crack_shot's avatar
    so Samsung is the worst

    be me
order a 77 inch TV with the wall mounting delivery
    have a universal wall mount
ask samsung chat if they will install it
    they say no
so ask them to send me a link to a compatible wall mount for Samsung OLED TVs
5 minutes later they cant find one
so they tell me they will use my universal wall mount
i ask them to send me email confirmation that i can show to the delivery guy
they refuse but tell me to contact them on live chat if he refuses
i ask, "do you want me to use your live chat while the delivery guy is in the doorway"
they don't answer but say it will all be okay

Should of said youd have put the delivery guy on the wall (edited)

Only 1 year warranty after they sneakily removed Samsung website from eligible retailers. Avoid

    Someone else posted this, what what about this (states that you can register it by 31st May 2025 to claim 5 years warranty);

On with the chat currently which is now trying to get me to purchase a 5 year warranty.

Their answer to the Samsung store not being included as list of retailers was 'I do understand, as of the moment, Purchases from spr.ly/617…d2U after 31 March 2024 are not included in the 5 year warranty promotion at this time'.

So going to go ahead and cancel. Will likely purchase from somewhere like richer sounds as they have sorted a TV issue no problem before using their great warranty

Is yours also due to be delivered today? They told me it has to be received at their warehouse first before they refund, and that it can take 7-10 days. I agree that the cost saving ain't worth the gamble

I can't see anything about the warranty on their page, can we clear up the 1 vs 5 year warranty?

Spoke to their online chat and it’s 1 year. Alternative is for a 3rd party retailer to price match.

I think this is great price - heated

Had mine in basket, 65" oled for £964 on website, app was higher with extra code?
In the end didn't pull the trigger due to talk of reliability issues, if Samsung only have confidence in 1 year operation of their panels then I'm out!
  18. aegj2002's avatar
Just had a chat with Samsung guys. They are even more confused than us about 1 or 5 year warranty. I think they have messed up with their warranty and offers. The guy ended the chat with "Rest assured that we will give you update once there is update for the extended warranty link."
    Cremoso99's avatar
To add to the confusion, retailers have been advertising the 5 year warranty on ebay even though in the terms and conditions it says that ebay and Amazon Warehouse purchases are excluded from the 5 year warranty.
Samsung needs to sort this out or people are just going to get an LG or a Sony instead. They were already under fire for the adverts in their OS. (edited)

The Samsung warranty thing has got me considering if to cancel the order today. It's due today. Are they easy enough to cancel with or will I have to refuse delivery when they come?
    TechFiend's avatar
Generally, good luck speaking to anyone over at Samsung. Shocking service when I've dealt with them.
  20. Hunterx878's avatar
I am cancelling my order as I don't want to gamble that much money, for only 1 year warranty is a joke. What a shame.
    TechFiend's avatar
I reckon the G2, G3 or Sony X95L are better deals although more money.
  21. barbituran's avatar
I think APP5 code does not work anymore which gives the effective price of £944.10 (including £300 trade up).
    This should be changed.
    Jay121x's avatar
If you've ordered before using APP5, it won't work. For first-time purchases only.
Way around it I guess is make a new acc (edited)
