Uhm... Yes, thanks - what's the TBW spec then?
Edit: 1120 TBW for the 2TB drive, pretty decent! (edited)

This has very poor read write speeds for a gen 4 NVME.

Most Gen 4 NVMEs are doing upwards of 6000 and this one is only 4800. Is it a PCIE gen 4 or a gen 3?

It's Gen 4 but just a lower tier drive that is a little slower. Very few use cases will have a noticeable difference and sustained read/write speed isn't the be all of performance metrics anyway. (edited)

Missed the prev deal on Samsung 980 1TB so asking again as I am out of touch with updates in tech:
Will this work on Huawei Matebook 14 - AMD Ryzen 7 4800H?
This is what I have from factory: SCSI\DiskNVMe__________________SAMSUNG_MZVLB512HBJQ-00000

Seems this is a newer gen? yet I don't know if my laptop is compatible with gen 3 or 4.
    Anyone have an idea?

I THINK it's Gen4 (but backwards compatible anyway like all mobo's), any Gen3/4 drives will work fine.
A Gen4 drive willl only make a difference if you spend a fair amount of time writing/transferring large files anyway, general performance with a Gen4 drive will bee exactly the same as Gen3 as random read/write speeds between the two generations are pretty much the same. (edited)

Sony recommends 5500+ for Ps5, will this 4400 be noticiably worse?

I haven't seen anyone find noticeable problems from using a slower than recommended drive yet.

This is more like it. Those higher spec 1TB for this price are having a laugh. Just get one of these sod their pricing like the Samsung Clown 980 Pro 1TB nope.

I'm assuming delivery (STD) is standard delivery, otherwise that's probably a package you don't want to open.

OMG I recently bought a 2TB for £149 and I thought it was cheap the price has dropped overnight for NVME's

Yeah even the high end drives like the 990 Pro 2TB have been sub £150.

Would the Xbox one benefit from having this over a standard SSD if I were to put in an external enclosure
    MagicBoy's avatar
    MagicBoy
Not really. A SATA 2.5" SSD drive is faster than the USB interface. Just get one with DRAM, like a Crucial MX500.

Anyone think these may get even cheaper over Easter? Do Amazon have an Easter sale??
    fishmaster's avatar
    fishmaster
There's always room to go lower but I think expecting any significant discount because of Easter isn't going to happen. Many people don't work over that weekend so they tend to go out with the kids, maybe fewer people looking for bargains. Who knows it might be raining, I haven't checked the forecast. The general rule is if you need it then buy it and if you don't need it don't buy it until you do.
