Refusing to budge for me...they want a £60 install and £15 a month more! :-(
I'm on Full House and 200mb broadband too.

Do you think it's worth it over a TiVo

From a speed point of view yes definatly. I was just dissapointed that the sound you have to have higher by around 10 notches on HD channels.

No £66 for two box's one TiVo and a v+ in the bedroom.

Either way, get in touch with Virgin and get them to send a replacement unit.Mine arrived today, thankfully with no screen issues. I wish it had a fingerprint sensor and was compatible with the PS4 Remote Play app (without having to tinker with the software), but those two gripes aside, it's a nice little mid-range phone.

Box was perfect. No damage at all.
I've had to ring up nearly everyday as they keep saying they don't have stock for a replacement, they think stock will be replenished today. So as soon as I get home I'll be ringing again.

Just ordered mine.the black was oos, so getting the white phone

I left 3 to try for a new network and since they could not match this deal (except as a second line) I thought why not switch? 6 days and I've yet to receive it through the mail, I get an email stating my new virgin mobile sim contact starts on the date I ordered it.... And the money comes out from my account on the same day I receive the email.... So I'm getting charged on the 6 days I don't even have my sim. I call customer support to complain, same call center as 3 (I'm sure. Perhaps even for BT and BA too). All this terrible service at even a small cost ain't worth it. Virgin services is not worth it people! Voting cold.

To be fair if the SIM was posted out on time by Virgin and then got lost in the mail system that could happen with any provider, not saying this is the case but I've always had my SIM within 2 days. I would ask for another SIM cause it does feel like it's not going to turn up.

EE offered me as a retention deal 4gb of their top speed 4g data, unlimited calls and texts and 12 months free of the bt sport mobile app for £9.99 a month (12 months contract) on both my sim only contracts. Not quite the same but use these deals to haggle a half decent one from ee. They seem to throw this 4gb deal at everyone to retain their custom looking at different threads on here.

So I've phoned twice to be given slightly differing things, from I never signed the £21 4gb data deal, I signed the £19 1gb data deal because the account says so!. This is despite the £21 deal by default only offering 4gb data at the time and no £19 priced deal existing at all!. Then after telling them I have screen caps to prove this and asking them how can they not know their own offers or able to check them?, I was told they will raise a ticket with there supervisor because the person I spoke to either can't or doesn't know how to correct the account despite seemingly accepting my claims. Then told to call back next refresh month as they cant do anything with the account until then!.I raise the issue on there Facebook page to be told to go onto web chat as they will sort it. Go on web chat tonight to be told web chat doesn't have any mobile phone account access to look at or deal with the problem. Then post on Facebook again to say web chat claim they can't deal with it to be told post back on Facebook tomorrow morning as they will send a precise web chat link where they can deal with it tomorrow (but not there and then?). Only telling them I cant do morning as I'm working so can only do it lunch hour to be told they are unsure that an hour would be long enough to deal with the issue as as ideally I need to be calling 789 as they are best placed to deal with these things, yet made 2 such calls already of cause. But said they will try anyway!.Fast losing patience with them now, getting passed back and to, having to take time out to try and resolve this issue that should be simple to sort!. So does anyone know of a UK based number or department like a CEO number for people who can deal with this to sort it as I'm wasting far more time than anyone should have to and nobody on the standard number has any clue on how to sort it!.

Don't Virgin get better contention on EE than Plusnet though ? I read on HUKD that despite GiffGaff and Tesco both being on the O2 network priority is given to Tesco mobile before GiffGaff users.

I also now have their 2gb data 2500 minutes sim only for £5/m too. If interested here's what I found...

There are 3 sim only offers for those who also have the virginmedia home services.

They are all 2500 minutes unlimited texts and either 2gb data, 4gb data (this deal) or 8gb data I think it is. The one you can readily access as an existing customer is this deal that I posted, as you can do it from you accounts dashboard online (and more than once), however you can only seem to get the £5 2gb data sim if you are a new customer getting virgin home services.

I phoned up saying I was struggling to get this deal from the website saying it only had the 4gb option for £8 and could they help set the 2gb deal up - and after checking into it and explaining it was for new customer getting home phone/broadband, I asked nicely if I could still do it as it was for my daughter who only needs a lighter package. After speaking to their manager and seeing I had an account in very good standing passed the credit check, I was allowed.

While he was processing this I cheekily asked if he could process two sims to send me - as I had another daughter who could port across to virgin mobile - after checking with manager this was agreed too.

So one sim 4gb/2500mins/ultdTexts £8 (this posted deal), and two sims 2gb/2500mins/ultdTexts £5 a month. Very happy with that.

Sharing the story in case you are interested and willing to check/try yourselves if another SIM would be useful.

A large number of mobile providers now cap data usage by default for …A large number of mobile providers now cap data usage by default for non-business customers - to avoid the nasty surprises that adversely affect customer experiences: EE, O2, Three... Of the major providers, only Vodafone don't.So who is lacking in this?1). Carphone Warehouse - it would have been sensible (and good manners) in the current business practice climate to advise me that the data was not capped. They didn't. This information is not arcane. Only Vodafone and Virgin don't cap data by default (in the selection offered by CPW).2). Me: 'let the buyer beware' is good advice. I simply assumed that Virgin would cap the data usage as is the prevailing business practice. I accept my error: which is why I have not asked for a refund. I should have been more vigilant.3). Virgin - no, they have done nothing illegal, nothing immoral. Howeve, they simply could either: switch to the prevailing practice of capping data by default; or be more transparent about their business practice. Why is this good advice for Virgin? Two reasons: 1). Virgin Mobile is a brand and the brand relies on the inventive, enterprising (but essentially honest and straightforward) name of Richard Branson. This practice might not be seen to honour the spirit of the brand.2). There is a very large movement in the business community to be transparent in dealings with the public. To some extent, this is the fruit of government intervention (warnings about excessive alcohol usage, gambling, smoking, the dangers of financial over-commitment - particularly in the mortgage sector; food labelling, etc). But some businesses go the extra mile... and voluntarily make their business practices as clear as they can. (The use of 'traffic lights' on food labelling is a case in point - where a food retailer may provide warning lights on food labelling even at the cost of losing a certain amount of sales). So, to sum up, no - it is not really anyone's fault.... if by fault you mean a legal or moral responsibility, entailing steps to correct a misstep.Virgin want to do business in a certain way. Fine... it is the privilege of operating in a free society. In the absence of being clear and upfront about their practice regarding data capping, I have chosen to exercise my right (and, it may even be said, duty) to warn people. It's not a question of fault. It's a question rather of being my brother's keeper

Great find, cheers

Great deal for actual football fans and not plastic armchair ones.

Great to see where the repeated price rises are being spent. I wonder if they'll apply the same thinking to their line rental price.

Won't be long till championship is more expensive as clubs spend more trying to push onto the premier league whilst bankrupting themselves

Yeah, the lower down the leagues you go the more important the gate money is.

I'm alright though as Huddersfield season tickets are only £199, which would be a bargain for the Premier League or Championship depending on how the rest of the season goes.

How did you manage that I was told by 3 different staff that I could not have 0870 with 4g no matter what. Even offered to pay extra on top so I cancelled my new sim and asked to stay on my inclusive 0870 deal even though I only get 3g.

After a mix up due to my SIM not getting processed, I've got this for £9 p/m as long as I don't change the tariff.

Been with them on the previous tariff for only 2 months, called up and asked for PAC number and they asked why I was thinking of leaving, told them about the EE deal that was posted Here on HUKD and that it was cheaper and about the data I needed, they said they would see what they could do, 2 mins later offered me 6GB 4g Data with rollover for £6/m

I could have been on the phone to Cairo for 3 hours and wouldn't have got any further though! I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager after 60 minutes, and he kept saying "But Sir, everything is in order". He eventually offered £10 instead of a manager, to which I refused. He then asked what it would take for me to hang up, and I said £30. He went to speak to somebody (??Manager!) and said their highest offer was £20.

I said no thanks, I still want to speak to a manager. Less than 2 seconds later, he replies:
"Fine. £30 it is".

And there's me thinking... But you just said £20 was your highest offer!!

It was all so comical if it wasn't so terrible customer.

Oh well, as long as you can speak to someone in the U.K. via complaints

Phoned to explain problem at the weekend - adamant his live chat person did the right retentions deal & just not updated on my end yet. He agrees my contract end date is in 2 months still..... Kept having to point out Vodafone do not do 2 month contracts. He told me to wait for my next bill even though all 4 phones are on one bill and one phone was different to the rest.He agreed to £30 compensation after 60 minutes as one phone couldn't be upgraded till yesterday due to it not yet being in the'upgrade window'. He was useless and I knew more how their systems work. After hanging up to him, the other 3 phones all got 12GB data and moved info the £32/month plans. He never said he was going to do anything at all, and agreed the price would be £13.50.Phoned complaints yesterday and spoke to a UK call centre who immediately saw how wrong they had got it.Vodafone could never promise £13.50/month - it's a 58% discount and my account is limited to 50% discount. She saw the live chat and had to add a huge amount of amount credit to:1) make to the difference to the £13.50 promised over 12 months, over 4 phones2) for the additional payments on bill as they had put me on data upgrade plans, not retentions deals hence my bills this month works be a lot higher3) Apply the £30 compensation that I was promised at the weekend that he never applied nor made any record of.Apparently people in Cairo customer services are going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble but the UK person was competent and honoured what was promised to me - and could see just how much they had screwed up the retentions deal. She even didn't transfer me to upgrades to honour it, because she said they would never agree to over £150 account credit, so did it all herself.Overall, they get it wrong every year and only their 50% off retentions keep me there!

Yeah it's a rubbish retention deal when you can get better offers … Yeah it's a rubbish retention deal when you can get better offers elsewhere. Apparently that was a generic retention deal and he tried selling me the benefit of EU mins when he already asked if I use abroad (none and not likely in the near future). Think I'm going to virgin as they have rollover data too.

mith - I'd haggle with them , so wait few days and get back to them , speaking to someone else may mean better deal

They sent me a new sim I got it 5 days laters with a new number too which I don't want so they rubbish really - got 14 days so will cancel unless they they give me a better deal , I've haggle for years with them I feel like I'm in Istanbul

Cold from me the 3 preloaded sim is £22.50 one off payment and lasts a year, no credit checks or contract.

The 12gb preloaded is better all-round more flexible unless you specifically need Ee network or 2g functionality which would be too slow anyway. Cold from me

Three I think have one of the best no hassle data deals at present. … Three I think have one of the best no hassle data deals at present. However if the OP can't get network coverage then this point is mute. For others that may be interested you can get 12gb of data for £23. This lasts a whole year so think of it as an annual SIM rather than a monthly SIM. It can be tethered and used in a tablet. Once the 12 months is up or all data is used then just pop in another SIM from same deal as this is cheaper than topping up the old card. So just to confirm there is no monthly allowance with this SIM, it is not 12 months at 1gb per month, it is one years worth of 12gb data, use as little or as much as you want to use each month. You can receive calls and texts to the SIM number however do not try to add credit to these Sims in order to use for voice calls. It will convert from a data sim and hence become a normal monthly SIM. This is a data sim and data sim only.https://www.mymemory.co.uk/SIM-Cards/3/3-PAYG-4G-Trio-Data-SIM-Pack-Preloaded-with-12GB-of-Data-for-Mobile-BroadbandThree also have a 24gb SIM deal but I can't see any available from stockists at the minute. This works out cheaper per GB and will likely come back in stock over next few months. These sims can also be used abroad and are great to use for data in dual Sim phones together with a bargain voice and text SIM in order to reduce your monthly mobile bill greatly.
