Excellent price system inc of windows; which will please typical prebuilt buyers. but they are chocking it somewhat via the a520 platform for an RTX 4060 Gaming system. The key advantage of the previous 12400F deal at slightly less would of been the h610 boad (4.0) , This does look nicer with its premium case, addition white cooler and white cables, and still offers greater cpu performance as the 5700x is an 8Core 16thread, while the previous was 6core 12thread.

Build it yourselves, especially if you have kids as it's a bonding exercise. I always remember the first PC I built with my dad in the 90s with the Voodoo card in it.... I always remember Voodoo in my head lol. Where as consoles..... You have none of those memories. I do not remember how I got my N64, but I remember my first PC. While I LOVED my Amiga, I do not remember how I got it, I just remember the games.
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
Just costs more to build this yourself - I put a build together for fun (selecting the same white parts) and it's about £70 more expensive. uk.pcpartpicker.com/lis…NHG

If I was building now I wouldn't want to build into AM4 with it being a dead platform too but yeah building PCs is really fun and satisfying, people should give it a go if it makes sense.

Is this good value for a first gaming PC? And would it outperform my Xbox Series X?
    michael.fitzpatrick's avatar
Brillant build for first pc and a dam good price

Will this be able to play the new resident evil games, remakes, village etc on like max maybe? I have a 4k TV no monitor.
Also want to play cyberpunk in better than quality than my Xbox x (edited)

Got mine today too. Thoroughly reccomend downloading ASUS Armoury Crate to personalise the RGB lights if you haven’t already

The specs on this system will it be good enough for newer games?.
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
yeah this is great for 1080p gaming and 1440p in some lighter games
  6. kittendoggie's avatar
This has a major problem unfortunately. The 4060 will have hindered performance with an A520 chipset board. That board only supports PCIE 3.0 slot. 4060 needs PCIE 4.0 to take advantage of its full potential, as it is a PCIE 4.0 X8. YouTuber/reviewers have shown that, if you run 4060 on a PCIE 3.0 slot, it will run at 8X speed PCIE 3.0 which will reduce performance. This build needs a B550 chipset board to work properly.
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
single digit percentage drop in performance so it's probably not gonna be noticeable with the majority of games, but yes it's an issue with the configuration.
  7. AmyLouiise's avatar
Anyone think that this might be able to run the new Avatar game? Current pc almost dies upon loading
    Spam_Filter's avatar
According to the store page, recommended specs for 1080p 60fps are Ryzen 5600X and RTX 3060 Ti. This PC is slightly better, so it should run well enough.

Cracking deal.. if only I had a Costco card.. would this play steam pc games just out of interest.. many thanks in advance

Think Costco have an online only membership that's cheap and available to all

Just purchased thanks op .... Now should I replace the RTX 4060 with my RTX Gaming Trio GEforce 3060ti 8GB ( 3 fan version ) from my previous build ? Fortnight , Call of Duty and few other games will be played on it ? Is it worth putting a older Graphics card in ? Thanks (edited)
    Czubaka's avatar
What's your previous build like? 4060 is actually a bit of a downgrade, unless you really need Frame Gen.

I'm sorry if this is a really silly question, but is there space in this pc to add a HDD? I've a 2tb one filled with photos etc that I'd like to put inside it ideally..

16gb isn’t enough imho. Be the bottleneck of this
    machine. 64gb should be adequate
    crack_shot's avatar
the 8GB VRAM is the bottleneck
but for a new build 32 GB RAM (minimum) seems like a safer choice
  16. Bairns94's avatar
Great system for the price, but I’m not sure how the other £700 Ryzen 7600 / 4060 deal on Palicomp isn’t getting as much traction? Considering it has the latest generation Ryzen chipset over this
    FairPriceSystems's avatar
"Costco" = major retail, "Windows" is the answer ;-)

this is £720 +£15 membership vs £700+£35 trans drive (as spec to awd drive) (+5 for the faster legend drive and +20 for the even faster drive)

despite a hell lot of people on here talk about doing windows themselfs, its not the simple answer to a lot of folks and this is why i cover a good range of prebuilts.

this is picture perfect to the underground unspeakable market majority of u dont bump into in the comments section on here, but we do on other forums.

How would this do as a 1440p machine, open world/JRPG type gaming and some strategy titles?
    Finnboy's avatar
It has all the DLSS magic so It'll likely to be fine. Worst case, you tinker with graphic settings on a per game basis. There will likely be yt videos showcasing games running on similar systems if you do a search.
  18. Legendkiller2k's avatar
Doesn't say what psu it is.
    baalberith's avatar
Perhaps the pc doesn't need one.

Wondering if this will play nicely with a Meta Quest 3 headset for VR flight sims?
    Sean_OHare's avatar
I also want to know this. Got quest 3 but use a Mac so looking at a gaming pc to play games like half-life Alyx and Fallout VR. Would this work?

Do they do a partial refund in first 90 days or do you have to return it and buy again

The other other AM5 one that was posted for around 700 britbucks is better.

  28. crack_shot's avatar
If i was building a new system i would go with AM5 if im spending almost 800
the 4060 is non starter- thats a £200 gpu on a good day

Nice looking PC white, just change the rear fan from Black to white, All the specs seem pretty good for a 1st time PC.
  30. baalberith's avatar
Thankyou for the op with this offer decided to get a new PC. Been looking for ages!
  31. bluejmc2005's avatar
I've decided to order this thank you OP. I'm sure I could get better if I had the knowhow, time and inclination to do a lot more myself but I don't lol. One thing though I'd like to increase the ram, what you would suggest I buy?
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
Are you sure you need more RAM? If just gaming then that would be throwing money away pretty much but you might have another use case
  32. Ewen_Bruce's avatar
Can anyone who has bought this or something very similar comment on the noise levels?

The last time I built a PC I used a quiet case and a quiet power supply and a quiet fan, because I like things to be quiet 😃

I accept it's going to make some noise when I'm gaming but what if I'm just browsing the web casually or watching YouTube? Is it going to be humming away like a jet engine under my desk? (edited)
  33. Ewen_Bruce's avatar
Popped into Costco to buy it and was surprised to see it had no USB-3 sockets, front or back. Thought that was really odd. Now concerned that it's not very future-proof so I didn't buy it. Am I worrying about nothing?
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
you must have been mistaken, the front panel should have 2 and even the very low end motherboard has 4 at the back
  34. bluejmc2005's avatar
how long do we think before these deliver? mines just sat at processing but to be fair i've not used Costco much so that may be normal/usual
    Ewen_Bruce's avatar
Costco are often slow on delivery, especially with popular products.
  35. bluejmc2005's avatar
OK, for those in the know, are these specs decent? compared to this PC? costco could not give me a date for delivery but ive been offered the specs below for £900 - more i lnow but I think overall probably a better deal?

would of been a good upgrade from the OG one if it had the 4060 but your not getting the latest Dlss 3.7 stuff with a 3060
  36. Mikavelli's avatar
Was looking at this for my kid. Will it be much better than his Xbox X for the likes of Fortnite and is it OK for upgrading down the line? Thanks
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
Unsure on the comparison with the Xbox but this will breeze through fortnite. Upgradability isn't amazing with this PC, the motherboard platform this is based on is officially dead now and this PC already contains one of the fastest gaming CPUs available on the platform so upgrading CPU would require a platform overhaul. The graphics card can be upgraded down the line to something more powerful
  37. Scott199709's avatar
sn350 is a rubbish QLC SSD with a much shorter lifespan, strongly suggest  adding an addition hdd/ TLC SSD to protest your data
  38. Roloing's avatar
Daft question but what's the best way to add Bluetooth to this?
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
easiest is probably a USB dongle, you can also put a pcie wifi card in if you need wifi, this will also give it bluetooth support.
  39. Roloing's avatar
Picked this up today and it has kind of a screechy whine all of the time, not mega loud but enough to be annoying. Is this normal?
    baalberith's avatar
What a noise when you playing games not tested on the games yet. Mine is so quite whisper so far very happy.
  40. AlexSmithtt's avatar
Great price. Would I be able to add a thunderbolt add-on card to this?
