So not an issue really.

TCL Communication has a long-standing track record of delivering … TCL Communication has a long-standing track record of delivering high-quality devices to our customers around the world, and the BlackBerry KEYone is no different. To ensure the highest quality in the BlackBerry KEYone, we used strong, durable premium materials and conducted rigorous stress tests on the device throughout the product development cycle to meet the real life use standards our customers demand. While the BlackBerry KEYone is being met with great enthusiasm, we are aware of the concerns around potential display separation on the device. Out of the thousands of BlackBerry KEYone smartphones that have been shipped and sold globally, only a very small handful of customers have reported this kind of issue. Our teams are actively examining additional adhesive measures that might further strengthen and eliminate any possibility of display separation occurring. If a customer does experience this however, they're encouraged to contact us for a device warranty replacement.

Just because you hate Sony, doesn't mean there's a better alternative or cheaper option for this phone itself.

I like Sony's too but why do you think this is the best out there?
The S8+ beats it.
The S8+ is smaller (with a bigger screen).
XZ Premium is £609 with no hassle at all at Tesco Direct so not a 50-60 saving.

Sony desperately trying to keep the price high put off a lot of potential buyers (like me) its still way too high (happy with my iPhone anyways)

How long did you wait? The phone has only been out one week...
I'm assuming that the much cheaper iPhone was an old SE or 6S with a tiny screen?

One of the best flagship phones available... Great price

With the small battery and none OLED screen it comes across as a none … With the small battery and none OLED screen it comes across as a none budget, budget P2

Only if you assume that AMOLED is more premium; however all the premium flagships from Sony, LG and HTC are IPS so I suspect the actual production costs are on a level and the only real difference is preference. IPS doesn't suffer from screen burn like AMOLED and this is one complaint some P2 users already have about the device.

Whilst this doesn't have a huge battery like the P2, as part of the Moto line it stands a better chance of getting Android O. This has a much better camera than the P2 too - which I suspect is just as important to people as huge batteries. I'm not one of those people who thinks the P2 camera is rubbish but I'm inclined to think the Moto G5 Plus is in some regards an improvement, and probably worth 20 quid more to some people.

I was away on holiday when this offer appeared and immediately bought one yesterday on my return. After peeling off the screen sticker I went to insert my 2 sims. To my horror the CPW G5 Plus is single sim only! So like before with the g4, the single sim versions have been price reduced in comparison to the dual sim.

So CPW/CURRY/PC World are not the cheapest place for a G5 Plus Single sim... They actually are the only place you can buy one from!

If you want a Dual Sim G5 Plus, the only place in the UK is Motorola Directly.

Shame about the mediocre battery

I have had 2 ZTE mobiles, and both were very average; they never upgraded to a newer version of Android, and their support was non existant. Both had major problems with the battery, so I can't recommend this Chinese brand, and will never purchase one again.

Dodgy nations? what about nations crying Weapons of mass destruction that were never there. Not a sane statement.

ZTE sold mobiles and kit illegally to North Korea.
They were investigated for doing so and lied loudly they werent throughout investigation.
They were then subsequently caught red handed.
And fined a huge sum for lying and selling to dodgy nations for dodgy uses.
Most of their profit for whole year went to paying the fine. 3/4?

But, this looks like a nice mobile though.

Battery is very good and almost as important it's honest. My old phone(Samsung, sigh) misreported the charge left. At 20% on the Samsung you wouldn't be able to spend 15 minutes surfing before it would be on 10%. At 10% you would be literally a couple of minutes from it turning off. On the Pixel, like my works iPhone, 20% is still hours from hutting down. Overnight the Pixel uses staggering little charge overnight - perhaps a percent or two. I've had this since launch and there isn't much to say about it other than it's smooth and it does what you want.P.S Bixby isn't shipping with the S8's now. Not ready(it must really be not ready cos it doesn't usually stop them). There is going to be a hardware button for something that isn't there.

That's more or less what I expected to hear. Quality optimisation from Google, kind of makes me wish they had gotten into making their own phone long before I moved to iOS. Lol your anecdote with the Samsung does not surprise me in the slightest. Its truly tragic because Samsung would be unstoppable if they collaborated with Google like they did for the Galaxy Nexus. Best hardware and best optimised software.

Lol I agree. It must be seriously broken for them to not bother launching it out of the box. Never stopped them before though...yeah there is a hardware button for Bixby but it can be reprogrammed for anything.

If i could take something from the iPhone it would be the keyboard, it's better on the iPhone. I use Google assistant all the time, for the simple stuff. If you tell it to phone somewhere you don't know like 'Newbank Garden Centre' or 'Costco manchester' it doesn't matter that you don't have the number in your phone - it just rings them. It doesn't look it up and you have to press a button, it just does it. There may be loads of New bank garden centres in the uk but it rings the one near to you. Also, if you have an incoming call Google looks up the number and if it can match it to a business the business is displayed instead of the number. That's Google assistant though, most androids have it now i suppose.Id describe it as very solid, like the iPhone, but better - ha ha! I would say that though

I'd even agree to an extent with you. How's your battery life on it and software? Any glitches or issues? Its funny because I've always admired Google keyboard and think it superior to iOS keyboard which is a little outdated with no swipe option. Lol how I wish Siri was that competent. She is useless in doing anything right or quickly in my car. Google NOW on the other hand made me love my Note 5 even more. A true enhancement, and legal! Google assistant just expands on this but is only available on android 7.0 above. Loads of handsets will miss out.

The pixel? Yeah it's great, all the things it does it does very well.

I totally agree with all this. There are certain things that iPhones … I totally agree with all this. There are certain things that iPhones don't do that make them for me, untenable but the quality is there. The screens are, resolution aside, superb - very close to the glass, responsive etc - and that is without using OLED technology. Apple wring every last bit out of the hardware they use and they might add stuff you don't need but they don't add gimmicks that don't actually work. The exception being notifications which, compared to Android, are a joke. For my work I was issued an iPhone 6 - its still very, very smooth but had it been a nearly three year old Samsung I suspect it would have been smashed against a wall. Personally I've got a Pixel, it's not perfect but I'm very happy with it. In my experience with Samsung, who seem the most cynical of all the major hardware manufacturers, they add 'features' simply for the headlines and literally don't care if it works or not. I'd be suspicious of Bixby. I remember S-Voice being touted in the same way Bixby is now, anyone use s-voice for more than a day or so? Doubt it, it rarely ever worked, for me at least. What's suprising is that Samsung have THE BEST hardware, no question. My Pixel Xl couldn't touch an S8(arguably an S7) for hardware. If Samsung were to release a vanilla or google phone I'd be all over it but every year, don't know about the S8 yet, they make a phone that is compomised by the software. They want to constantly monetise by adding ****-poor implementations of app stores, voice search, browsers, music stores etc. The reviews always seem to be glowing - which in the past I've fallen for but have baffled me after only a week of use. How could they not notice the lag? Why does it take so long for the screen to come on after pressing the power button? How can the keyboard be behind what I'm typing with nothing else going on? I also have friends that like Samsungs so who knows....and why isn't their fingerprint button round? Are they nuts?

Undoubtably there's plenty I'd love my iPhone to do which my Android phones could do. Quick charging for one. The screens are for me, the best on the market. You just can't beat them. So responsive, so solid, so bright and colour accurate. Android can't beat em. I agree. Apple starts from the top in making sure iOS takes every advantage of the hardware and doesn't matter which side of the fence you sit, you can only praise that. Again, I whole-heartedly agree. Notifications are a complete joke on iOS. Its the only thing drawing me back to Android. Its unreal how bad Apple got this simple function. I preferred them on iOS 9. How is the Pixel? I do follow it and find it relatively appealing. Its incredibly simple and functional. Even seems iOS-esque in how there are relatively little hardware and software issues surrounding it aside from the lens glare.

Yeah Samsung have a history doing this. Adding incomplete features which make no difference to the user experience. Smart Stay anyone? I don't even bother with Siri, who is incompetent to say the least forget Bixby. There's only two people that ever got close to doing voice assistants even remotely right and that's Google and BlackBerry. I still look jealously at Android users because Google Now is so unbearably better than Siri and works perfectly in cars. Its at that point I wake Siri from her slumber and remind her that she's a piece of ****.

They did try 'Google editions' of other phones like the S4, HTC etc. They never took off sadly and even with stock android still faced software delays compared to Nexuses. I wished they had stuck it out. Its sad but true, Samsung have overtaken HTC as the best hardware manufacturer. Anyone that doesn't use a circular finger print sensor needs a slap. Its obviously the best way forward. I know people that swear by Samsung but I'd put them in the same category as a lot of iPhone users. They are so used to one way of doing everything that they can't see past their tried and tested method. Everything is inferior to their Samsung.

If that's the case I would be inclined to ask CPW to explain the above!

you got the standard answer/blurb from customer services in India whom went by the details available on their own webpage, they are in no position to verify physically the specs, that is utter incompetence (cpw not the poor guy in a call centre) from them to be expected. If I was any of you wanting the phone send it back and order via Motorola, less expensive, 3gb model (down to £215 with unidays code and cashback) or even if no unidays code to make it £239 available for all, when it comes back in stock, see the other thread I made

The CPW one advertised at 2Gb arrived as a 3Gb XT1684, OEM id: M2670. No mention of the RAM capacity on the packaging, but clearly a 3Gb model. Other details incorrect on CPW website as noted previously - No OIS, just EIS (video) also it states headphones included, which they are not for this model. Hope that clarifies things a bit. Not sure if you would be guaranteed a 3Gb one though, as CPW could in theory have both the 2 and 3 gig variants.

Full spec link

As an aside though, the recent customer service received from CPW has been terrible!

Find it hard to believe that is a serious question (makes my dad look … Find it hard to believe that is a serious question (makes my dad look tech savvy), but search for "24GB three sim" - I think they were less than £30 recently - preloaded pay & go data sims that last the shorter of 24GB or 24 months. EE also do then, but much more expensive (think I saw a deal for 6GB/3 months at £9 - that had an RRP of £30 & street price £15 when I last looked). Note that EE will let you use them in phones, where shockingly three won't (i.e. use an old phone as a MIFI & three will suspend data)!

To all who helped me in this - thank you very much, I'm now sorted. To this muppet jnm21 - try to be less rude to people requiring a bit of advice.

Hi let’s look at things logically here, there are a lot of people on here … Hi let’s look at things logically here, there are a lot of people on here are of all age ranges.Home Computing technology started to really take off and spread from the mid 1980’s. Microsoft first shipped Windows –DOS in 1985 (more wide spread than previous IBM and Apple machines), loading was for the suck and the term lag did not seem to have been invented yet, I know it’s hard to imagine but pls try.Schools had a slow uptake of computers/tech training due to funding and questions of how much IT&devises were taking off but there were improvements from late 1980s into 1990s. The internet was available to the public from about the same time and grew exponentially. Improvements just kept coming year after year. In 1994 The IBM Simon was one of the first smart phones to be widely commercially available and only in the U.S! Nokia’s were available from mid 1990s and Ericsson from 2000sIphones weren’t launched until 2007!So computers /internet(that were/are commercially accessible to all) have been around for well over 30 years, and smart phones for far less time.Age range wise people over mid 40s would not have had (on the whole) basic computer training at school or the opportunity to have smart phones when young. Although people of all ages can catch up a bit not everyone will have learnt as much as generations below them, that have had the massive benefit from the newest tech. I try to not discriminate or insult people old or young because of their lack of opportunities, age or life choices. I also think it’s important, if someone is getting angry at a parent for being slow with their computer or not knowing about their phone, it’s important to remember that that person taught you to how to use a spoon! The least you can do is have a bit of patience. I agree with you that companies do seem to be giving worse deals recently.
