    Weird boot.

Lined for winter, but with a summer sole.

    Nice price though.

I have a pair. They are not lined for the winter especially. The sole and everything else is quite hard, but the lacing system allows a good fit to be engineered (only need to do it once). The ankle pads are thick but that's only the pads which are maybe 3cm tall. The main body does not have any thick lining (it's lined but no more thermal protection more than a pair of regular socks). The hardness (even the ankle pads are hard!) leads to good support and no discomfort stepping on stones or branches or the blind people guides at crossings and good distance walking (6-10km) no ankle tiredness. However there is no real water resistance for heavy rainfall, only protection from shallow puddles from below. I've forded puddles more than 3cm deep without issues but heavy rain just gets in from above and floods the cavity. So "Hike" is only appropriate for dry walks, with some uneven ground.

No decent range of shoes available at Clarks in size 9. They have like 3 ugly pairs of mens shoes and this is one of them
